Our night at The Peabody was exceptional. We chose to spend our 30th anniversary here, and we certainly weren't disappointed. The room was great...clean, comfortable, roomy. The location was wonderful...easy walk to Beale St and great music and restaurants. And, of course, the March of the Ducks! This was truly a dream come true!

We'd heard a lot of horror stories about crime and the danger for tourists in Memphis. Never had a problem and fe!t perfectly safe walking around the area near our hotel on Union Avenue. Walked to Beale Street, went to a club and didn't leave until 1130 at night, walked back to our hotel, never felt in any danger. YMMV....

Unfortunately, we arrived late due to the Greyhound bus with three hours delay. We tried to do everything we planned to do. Would like to have spent more time at Graceland, such as visiting Elvis planes. Sun Studio tour was awesome, Beale St not too impressive. Found the music scene in Nashville better.

I was surprised at the number of medical facilities.
I was surprised at the number of medical facilities. I had heard Memphis is one of the most dangerous cities in America. So, I limited my excursions to daytime only. I passed on having to park at a parking garage and having to walk to Beale Street for an evening ghost tour.

For lovers of rock and soul music, it’s a great place to visit. Lots to see and hear. Good bars and restaurants, although food is almost exclusively fried. Peabody hotel with its duck parade is a lovely place to stay, or just visit. Graceland and Sun Studio well worth visiting.

Everyday was a new surprise - botanical gardens with tulips and dogwood at peak, art museum, Elvis' Graceland, walk across the Mississippi River on old train bridge, Lorraine Motel and National Civil Rights Museum, Sun Records Studio, big city shopping with NICE departlment store, Beale Street, South Main Street District, Chucalissa village of Mississipian culture mounds and great trails, rich neighborhoods, poor neighborhoons - and did I mention all the great food (real fried chicken, hush pupplies, fried okra, grits, bar-bq, coconut cake, pecan pie, Mississippi mud pie, and microbreweries to name a few. AND the people of Memphis are very friendly and welcoming.

This is a wonderful city to visit especially if you are interested in the music scene and the beginnings of rock and roll. There are many music related museums to visit, car museums and of course Graceland - which I highly recommend going to- even if you aren’t a huge Elvis fan. The museum is so well done , it’s quite fabulous. We went in a Mojo bus tour which had a musician onboard who was also the tour guide and super knowledgeable. That was great fun, we toured Sun Studio where many great musical talent emerged from.
This was in a very dangerous area of Memphis. Gang drag racing. Loud street noise. The lobby smelled terrible!!!! Stains on the hallway carpet and bleached areas looked like the clean up of a crime scene. Will never stay here again. Tried to cancel once we saw how terrible it was but wasn’t allowed. We were even willing to loose our money but couldn’t find another hotel with an opening within 15 minuets. The a/c unit made a loud noise all night. The floor in the room was sticky. Worst place I’ve ever stayed.
Staff were v friendly.Kinesha at the front desk was friendly and efficient called up to make sure everything good with room.A lot of staff cleaning all the time.Although not mega close to Peabody &Beale street was walkable.Parking included in my price but if not is$12 per day maybe a consideration for some.Easy access to I40 and a short car journey to Gracelands.Free breakfast was good back to pre pandemic standards.Masks in place in public areas of hotel.Would stay again if ever in Memphis.
There is nowhere else I would stay in Memphis. This small European-style hotel was a relief to return to after visiting the sites in downtown Memphis. The room was not large, but very clean and comfortable. Parking was easy. The neighborhood was very pretty and calm. Breakfast is included so we ate breakfast there every morning. It's not a buffet, we chose off the menu and our server was delightful. Actually, all of the staff that we encountered were friendly and professional.
I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. But I can tell you one thing for sure. The staff at this hotel was top notch! Everyone was so helpful. We stayed for six days, and enjoyed each and every minute we were there! When we first checked in, we had an issue with our room card. But within ten minutes, it was resolved. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with no problem! This place will be my go to place when I return to Memphis! No doubt about it!
Proximity to Beale St can't be beat! Right in the middle of everything but facing away from all the noise, so we got a restful night's sleep. Exceptional value for money and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Front desk staff were so welcoming and friendly and the place was very clean. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We loved our choice of hotel and had such fun on Beale St. Highly recommended the bbq ribs in BB kings!!
We did not have much time in Memphis so I booked the Peabody because of its proximity to Beale Street and because of its ducks. I thought the duck ceremony was an overrated scam but in fact it was a great experience. Maybe the hotel is old but that also means that it has style & class. Checkout was extremely convenient as the bill was put under our door over night and we could use our hotel key card to leave the parking garage.
Great location near Graceland. Secured parking on-site and lots of staff. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool and gym on site. Lots of neat extra stuff like Elvis movies playing, live music, lawn toys and peanut butter sandwiches in the lobby in the evenings. Over all pretty neat hotel. The price for Friday night was more than double what we paid for our Thursday night, which I get. Would recommend coming during the week.
The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring downtown and Beale street. You are just a couple of blocks away from Beale Street.
Staff were extremely friendly and the receptionist gave us some good recommendations for places to eat.
Our room was spacious, with a huge comfortable bed and a nice view of the city. And the room was very clean.
There is parking onsite for a daily charge and free WiFi.
The location is awesome. we came to Memphis for an NBA game at the FedEx forum which is only 2 blocks away. The bonus was Beale Street right beside the hotel. We are at the Blues City Cafe and walked around a while before we went to the game. The hot breakfast was delicious. The room was immaculate (including the baseboards in the bathroom which I found remarkable).
Nice check-in staff, property overall is older, no way in luxury class, more of working-man's hotel, in any other town it would be half this price. nice bed and bedding. did not use the kitchen. only a quick 2-night stay for a meeting. room carpet was VERY OLD. you could tell that there has not been a lot of money put into renovation in quite some time.
ALL The staff were WONDERFUL!!! I can not brag on them enough. I hugged them all. The room was beautiful, the view from the balcony was amazing & the free shuttle service was a life saver for getting to & from the nearby graduation we went there for. Down town Memphis parking is terrible on a good day, so the Free hotel shuttle bus was awesome.
Locaion was good, only a short walk to restaraunts and bars. If you would rather take the tram then the nearest stop is just around the corner from the hotel. Everything you come to Memphis to experience is fairly close to the hotel including Beale st, the Civil Rights museum, the Lorraine Motel and the Sun recording studios.
Everything about this place is a treat. Super cool, great decor and very stylish.
Fantastic bar and restaurant.
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff.
Good sized and well designed rooms.
Easy access and plenty of parking. Very safe and secure.
Perfect Memphis hotel.
I absolutely loved this hotel, it was a super central location for visiting Memphis. The staff were lovely, the only thing I might have noticed that they were maybe a little understaffed! The breakfast was simple but very tasty. The bed was extremely comfy.
The facilities, room, breakfast, grounds, etc., met all of my modest expectations for a Holiday Inn Express. I rated this hotel so high due to the staff, all of whom were extremely friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring Memphis too.
My car was broken into in hotel car park. Prior to parking there the staff advised me that it was safe to park there. After my car was broken into Memphis police advised that cars had been broken into in the exact same location a day earlier.
Such a beautiful hotel….we loved the elegant lobby and watching the duck walk. The cafe with complementary coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Within walking distance to all the wonderful downtown Memphis restaurants and nightlife.
This is our second stay and we like the hotel for its cleanliness, location and safety. Plenty of restaurants and things to do in the area. We will definitely stay again when we go back to Memphis.
Staff were friendly and hotel was very clean.
Perfect location for visiting Memphis, short walk from most places: Beale Street, Main Street etc, and parking was great!
