Stunning location, amazing views, comfortable beds, great heating and showers, nice waterfront hangout area with corn hole toss and fire pits. The kayaks and bikes are easy to rent, they gave us a pair of binoculars for whale watching, and check out was super simple. One and only area for improvement was lacking kitchen supplies. Would recommend bringing your own knives.

This is a gorgeous island that i have the opportunity to visit a few times a year both during the on and off season and would recommended it to anyone wanting a weekend get away. Tons of beaches to explore and and several tourist attractions.

Friday Harbor is always a good place, whether by car/ferry or your own boat. Have done that many times. We would rate the Down Rigger Restaurant for a good meal and relaxing and watching the activities in the harbor.

San Juan Island was a beautiful, quaint place.
San Juan Island was a beautiful, quaint place. Lots of great shops, restaurants, sheep farm, alpaca farm, lighthouses ... Very friendly, relaxing atmosphere. My expectations are usually high, and I was not disappointed.

We had a wonderful day riding the Trolly.
We had a wonderful day riding the Trolly. You can get off at the places you want to see longer & was an easy pick-up when the trolly came around again. Lots of outdoor activities to do whether on the water or on land. There's history on the island as well as plenty of nature. We enjoyed eating at the Rocky Bay Cafe for breakfast. The food was tasty & friendly waiters. Otherwise, we ate in our unit, buying deli food from the Kings Market. Remembering you are on "island time" & need to be flexible, will help make your stay more pleasant. Getting the correct departure time for the ferry would have been helpful!

Friday Harbor is really meant for a one-time weekend visit.
Friday Harbor is really meant for a one-time weekend visit. The town is cute, quaint, with that small town charm. However, there isn't much to do after you've walked the little strip, had a coffee, and went on a whale watching excursion. As vegans, we truly appreciated Mike's and ended up going back a few times. The hours maintained by the shops and restaurants is so limited as everyone seems to only want to milk the high times for tourists. The nightlife was non-existent. We weren't looking to go dancing, but a friendly bar with a little live entertainment would have been nice. Overall, it was a nice visit but no reason to return once you've been there and done that.

Rent a car- close by location- and drive around the island.
Rent a car- close by location- and drive around the island. There are several worthwhile stops. Including lunch at Roche Harbor. Plan at least a half day. Friday Harbor itself can be consumed in a day. Restaurants are pricey for good food, and most of the rest is best avoided to eat at home. The King market is very well stocked and if you have a kitchen will provide all you need- of course also pricey.
People should be aware that town is straight up the hill from the ferry. This is not a good trip for granny’s walker or wheelchair.
Trumpeter Inn is a lovely place to spent when visiting San Juan Island. It’s a great location, super quite and idyllic but still very close to Friday Harbor. The entire place is filled love and care, you can feel that Claudia and her family are very passionate about what they are doing. Everyday there is great breakfast, almost all of it being self-made, everyday there are fresh baked cookies and food to feed the lovely goats and Alpakas. After 5 nights at Trumpeter Inn we very sad to leave. We would come back any time!
The location was just a short walk from Friday Harbor and in a quiet neighborhood. Our room (The Eagles Nest) had a view of the harbor. Nick and his family were gracious hosts. The breakfasts every morning were super tasty and unique compared to the normal eggs and sausage. Every morning there was a different freshly baked muffin or bread that was warm and delicious. In the afternoon their banana/chocolate chip cookies were so good we are still talking about them. Really enjoyed our stay!
The property is lovely and the guest house itself and its rooms are unique, cozy and darling! Juniper met us upon our arrival and both she and other staff were the exact amount of communicative. WiFi worked well and the bed and sheets were fantastic. We enjoyed sipping our beverages in the bay window of our room overlooking the peaceful property. The location is a very short drive to Friday Harbor but far enough away for that country feel. I hope to stay again!
Appreciated that they accommodated for breakfast when we had an early start to one our days. The host was wonderful and very courteous, our room was very clean and ready for us to occupy, and although we had to share a bathroom, we never had any conflicts to use it, and the bathroom was very clean. Most of all, it was away from the hustle and bustle of Friday Harbor when we wanted to finally hang it up for the day.
The Orca Inn has an interesting history, but the room was small, and some elements were not in the best condition, although overall, it worked well as a convenient place to stay in Friday Harbor (San Juan Island), WA. WiFi was VERY helpful in a place (the island) where connectivity was a problem--I couldn't even use my phone's map/GPS when driving around the island.
The Hannah’s Suite in the Peter Jensen house is wonderful! Perfect setup for 2 couples as it has 2 bedrooms, each with own bathroom. The space was immaculately clean, with all the needed essentials. The location is great, very walkable to the town. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely rebook when we return to Friday Harbor.
The staff are lovely. cafe is really good and worth a visit, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. lots of parking, comfortable king sized beds and a spare bed too, which is good when travelling with teenagers.
There is about a 10 minute walk into twon, but I wouldn’t let it put you off staying here.
The views of the harbor!!!! I actually slept with the curtains open so that I wouldn't miss a moment of the beautiful harbor views. The studio apartment was spotless and well equipped. A short, easy walk to downtown Friday Harbor. The perfect place to stay if you don't have a car.
HUGE space, easy check-in. We stayed in the two-bedroom suite with 5 people and had more than enough space. It’s an awesome location and about a 2-minute walk from Friday Harbor and the San Juan Brewery. We never met Paul, but our checkin was fast and efficient.
Clean, comfortable, cozy cabin for two. Has a stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, table and chairs, pots, pans dishes and utensils. Only 5 minutes walk to Friday Harbor downtown/harbor, but quiet at the cabin.
Location. Within minutes you can walk to all the restaurants of Friday Harbor. If budget permitted it would be great to see a bistro table and chairs in the backyard to enjoy the serenity of the backyard.
We love staying here every-time we come to beautiful Friday Harbor. The staff are friendly, the room is clean, and the view of the boats and water is so lovely. Plus the restaurant has a nice ambiance!
