I stayed here before for a concert last year, so this was my second visit. The renovations are excellent and well executed with a comfortable and aesthetic lobby. The rooms are modern with great views, and the hotel is in close proximity to a ton of cool stuff. While staff are sometimes busy, I always found them polite and helpful. I don't gamble, but all of that stuff is there if you choose to partake - and it seems like the main draw for many of the people coming and going.

Detroit is becoming a revitalized city with many great restaurants, sporting venues and entertainment venues. Very walkable and increased transit system would make this the perfect city to visit. It's so good to see the re-birth of the buildings and the businesses making this a city vibrant and attracting more visitors each year.

Detroit is a beautiful place to visit.
Detroit is a beautiful place to visit. Most people are relatively friendly. I had no problems, other than the place that I stayed. They had mice and it was a dead mouse in the sink on the second day. The person managing the property came in while I wasn't there. I couldn't cook my Thanksgiving dinner because there was no dining table. So my family had to eat with our plates in our laps. I was told to give a good review and they would give me back half of my money. They lied! I have text messages and pictures.

Detroit has come a long way from what it used to be.
Detroit has come a long way from what it used to be. There is a lot to do around the city. With the Q-line and the people mover being a mode of free transportation, it is much easier to get around if you can park just outside of the downtown area
Amazing historic city club beautifully preserved, restored and maintained. Luxury suite corner suite with porch was spotless with amazing linens and comfortable bed.
Our bartender in The Library amazing cocktail artist. Very cool and hospitable. Door guy made certain we had coffee and anything we needed in the morning. Continental breakfast was plentiful, with fresh options and mini quiches.
Ideal couple getaway or girlfriend weekend. I will be back soon.
Also room was a steal when compared to other boutique hotels downtown.
Room was clean. Bed was very clean and nicely presented. Nice shower stall. Room was small with double bed. Staff very helpful, personable, accommodating. Very convenient, short walk, to Detroit’s Riverwalk. Although, there is a shuttle service, free, operates on tips, it doesn’t start until 4 pm. The attached diner, closes at 3 pm. I found it pricey for breakfast. The hotel offers free continental breakfast which suited us.
We walked to Little Caesars Arena for an afternoon game. Took about 20+ min, easy walk.
The location. Close to Ford Field and Comerica Park (15 minutes walk) Safe area and no homeless on the streets in the area. Plenty of traffic in the evening to feel more than safe on a walk home. (Yet not at all disturbing inside the room I had) Yes, the room have its flaws if you have hotel like expectations and it do have a slight smell of smoke from the inside but nothing major. But it is a pretty cheap motel in close proximity to Downtown Detroit. Nearly half the price of the cheapest alternatives in the area
The hotel is definitely going for an industrial chic style and it mostly works. The room was comfortable and it is in a convenient location to explore Corktown and to walk into the downtown. They offer gated parking for an additional fee which they should offer for free given that the area is still a bit rough.
They have a nice fire pit that was fun to sit by in the evening with a drink and chat with some other people.
The Shinola is in the heart of Detroit's historic downtown, where new businesses are coming up and old, beautiful architecture is finally being preserved and restored. The guest rooms and public spaces are beautiful, showing the clear vision of a talented architectural and interior design team. The design and luxurious finishes go well beyond what one might expect for the cost of the room.
For us the location was great. We could walk to everything we wanted to do downtown bars, restaurant, clubs etc. We had thought about booking an airbnb or something but felt like a hotel chain would be more reliable as far as cleaning standards. The room and hotel met our expectations and we're glad we decided to stayed there.
Fantastic location in downtown detroit, with all the amenities of a studio apartment. Spacious bathroom and room includes washer and dryer which were so useful ! electronic check in was very smooth, Sonder app is very efficient and I had a good experience with the customer service chat
I like that the hotel was located near the waterfront of Detroit and around all the restaurants. I also liked that there was restaurants in the hotel. We also got an amazing view of the river from our room, which was a huge plus. The overall experience was good.
The design of the hotel is unbelievably posh yet welcoming. As a designer for similar hospitality rivals, I was extremely impressed with the atmosphere and experience. Definitely will stay again the next time I am in Detroit.
Nothing, it was the worst experience I've ever had. And your hotel is terrible and I will be sure to tell everyone to steer clear of your obnoxiously. Named possibly hard to get into stupid ass fucking hotel
The location is awesome when doing things downtown. The hotel is always clean and the staff is very friendly. This is one of my favorite places to stay in Detroit when going to events in the downtown area.
The bed was very comfortable. Really enjoyed the clean room. Location of hotel is very ideal for a lot of things around Detroit. Also located in heart of Greektown. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The staff was exceptional, every step of the way! They were fantastic. The room and hotel overall was so tastefully designed. It was stunning - and the view from the rooftop sunroom was such a bonus!
A generous and beautifully furnished apartment in Downtown Detroit with walking distance to everything. The apartment was quiet and secure with a very comfortable bed and large windows
beautiful hotel! our check in time was 3:00. we didn’t get our room until 3:40. they did there best to accommodate us as quickly as they could. excellent location for our concert.
Great location at Detroit’s Greektown, a 15-minute walk to downtown, restaurants, and cafes.
The bed was comfortable.
The room is very spacious, which is a plus.
