Vineyard Mansion B&B, hotel in Saint Joseph

Vineyard Mansion B&B provides air-conditioned rooms in Saint Joseph. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free Wifi throughout the property.

I loved the location and the history of the surrounding area. Breakfast was "self prepare" and "self serve", which was unique. I wasn't hungry enough to fix anything, but did have some fruit and coffee. Also, I liked having a private bathroom in my accommodations. In other B&Bs I've stayed at, the bathrooms have been communal. Shared is okay, but private is preferred.

    The best thing was location.

The best thing was location. Right off the highway with many restaurants. The rooms were so dirty, even the sheets and towels had stains in them. The locks were broken as if someone had kicked the door in. The handle fell off when we left in the morning. The front desk was a circus with the ladies whole family, kids and even dogs. Totally unprofessional and rude.

We enjoyed the Glore museum and the pony Express Museum.

We enjoyed the Glore museum and the pony Express Museum. The America's best value was not a good experience. I wold not stay again. LePeep was a good choice for breakfast. The lobby was closed to the motel and no breakfast was available as it should have been, as stated on booking.com

Saint Joseph is a town rich with history of westward expansion. Its museums are full of interesting exhibits including the Pony Express. We found two days was a fair amount of time to tour museums and also see historic mansions, the county courthouse, visit Lover's Lane, and experience some great food. Plus, the city was a good central location for further exploration into Kansas and Nebraska. The city itself is fairly easy to navigate, and bear in mind the one-way streets, especially downtown. Most of the chain restaurants and shopping sites are located on the east side of town along the I-29 business loop. We enjoyed Olive Garden so much we visited two nights in a row! Interestingly, while the city has many historic buildings, many are not kept up, and the town in general has a tired feel. This St. Joseph visit satisfied our curiosity, and we have no plans to return in the near future.

Where do I begin? Property is not well maintained.

Where do I begin? Property is not well maintained. Cobwebs on the ceiling, dirty walls and mirror, dead bugs in n the bathroom, no working light above the vanity, holes in the wall, microwave old and missing the glass plate, broken down furniture. Mattress is old and the sheets have seen better days, two old worn out pillows. I do not recommend this one lace and will not stay here again. I arrived late at night and was very tired so I didn't have much choice but to stay or I would have left and tried to find another place. No easy task the weekend before Thanksgiving.

    St Joseph Mo.

St Joseph Mo. Is the home of the Pony Express, Jessi James and has loads of old world charm, It is positioned right off the Missouri River and has a Casino there. Mansion Row has many Beautiful old Mansions some which have been turned into Bed and Breakfast. St Joseph has much to offer such as Tea houses, Museums, off road, tractor pulls, Great views from King Hill and more.

    Staff was kind.

Staff was kind. Neighbors had been there three months and had camped out on the walk way. Multiple night visitors. Laughter and talking until 4:30 am. One visitor was propped up against my window talking and laughing. When I peaked out my window, I saw his back. He was sitting on the frame. When we left, I was told the gas station was letting their guest have free ice. When I showed my receipt, he said this had been going on for a year. I paid for my ice! Will not be back.

The dead roaches on the floors. The uncomfortable bed and pillows. The terrible parking. The lack of a refrigerator, coffee maker and a hair dryer. The grocery carts and open cases of beer in the walkways. The people hanging around the balconies The RUDE WOMAN AT THE DESK! We will not go back! I will spend more money and find a hotel with much better amenities and cordial staff.

Pleased that they offered free Breakfast and Supper. The hotel had been recently remodeled and I thought it was new construction. It was the quietest motel I have ever stayed in! The air conditioner, refrigerator were almost silent, no other guest noises from showers or toilets, and there was no traffic noise. It was incredibly quiet!

The property was very different from all the hotels we have stayed in on this trip, it had character and a more homely feel. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a nice easy chair to relax in. plenty of parking and quite a few places to eat within walking distance.

Excellent hotel with a camp/cabin decor. Convenient location - close to interstate and a five mile drive to the Riverwalk. Hotel has a bar that has a simple bar food menu. Breakfast was very good. Had a basic fitness center. Front desk staff helpful.
