The room is really nice with a beautiful view, nicely decorated with a flat like feel, I really liked it, a very good place to stay for like a week n tour Philly from
Needed cleaning, the shower blocked, toilet light didn't turn on. And apart from just feeling like it wasn't cleaned to well before me there were residue splash marks on the toilet seat I don't even want to think about, as it wasn't from me!
The location of course. The price as well. The staff was attentive, helpful, informative, and nice!
The tv in the room didn't work.
Location is close to everything.
The hotel is on the corner of two busy streets and across from a construction site. The windows of the room couldn't block any sound from the streets below. I was waken up at least three times at night by loud noise of cars passing by and people talking. The window curtains couldn't block any street light. The construction site started the day at six in the morning. The worst hotel staying experience ever for me. What is a hotel for if you can't sleep at night? My advice: a quieter place is well worth your money.
Dirty, no staff present at any times. it's the kind of place that makes you think you're gonna catch something simply by sitting on the bed sheets. Please do yourself a favor and do not book a room here.
Staff was very friendly
The room set up was a little weird but it is an old building so I understand.
Had all the necessary things, tv Refrigerator, etc
A little too old, needs update, very Small room, 4th floor walk up
The staff especially Nancy was excellent.
Location, but there are better hotels nearby for the same price.
Bed and room was filthy. The maintenance in the whole building looked like it had been done by a blind 5 year old who has just received his Early Learning Centre toolkit. The whole building stank of the the unused cellar underneath my grandparents house. I had to get drunk just to sleep there.
Wifi is better than I'd expected.
Staff is the worst! Their doorbell is bad so you have to call them to open the door for you. Worse still, they won't appear untill noon! You can't leave your luggage there and travel without burden! Besides, the curtain there can't block sunlight: You will weak up before 7am!
Great value for this place. Location is the best. Stay here if you just need to sleep, shower, rest up.
The free wifi
The size of the room, and that nothing else was included
I didn't like ants in the room and bed also the bathroom was falling apart. I also heard someone ringing the doorbell from 11pm to10 am and idk why the guest are able to hear the bell in the first place. I heard noise from all the rooms from sex to arguing and screaming. This is the worst hotel I have ever went to in my life and I would never come back not to mention I saw on Google that the hotel is haunted which we were not aware of at purchasing.
We had reservations to stay here but due to mechanical reasons, our room was not available. The hotel put us up at another hotel close by and made sure the arrangements were acceptable. I appreciate the follow up from Society Hill.
The location is good.
They don't stop at the hotel. if you need to help and you are lucky maybe you can find them at hotel
One block from parking and subway stations. And there's a bar downstairs in which you can drown out your poor choice or staying at this hotel.
The hotel was disgusting. And I don't think it was the fault of the few staff members who seemed to always be hard at work, but rather the Tightwad owner who fails to hire staff after 6 PM when the entire hotel is then empty, and refuses fix reoccurring problems, as a few that I had. The rooms are tiny, to be expected in a city hotel, but it entirely lacked the quaintness one would expect. The halls were adorned with past recommendations for the hotel, but they all were published when Carter was still president. The entire smelled like cigarettes and bad choices. My personal room seemed to be held together by duct tape and chewing gum. The air conditioning unit in the sleeping area worked about as well as a dowsing rod in the Sahara, my was almost as bad as sleeping with my ex girlfriend, and on my first morning, the shower flooded my entire room. Just as I will probably never smoke meth because it's obvious how bad it is, you too should never stay at this hotel.
room is full of dust no elevator front desk not 24 hours no security
The location was right in the middle of some great bars and walking distance from everything
The room was called a "junior suite" but it was so small you could barely get around. The toilet didn't flush the curtains fell on me. It was a uncomfortable stay and I would not recommend it.
Location it is close to everything Good size room Midday checkout time
Rooms could do with been updated very worn
They gave you water
Sheets didn't seem entirely clean Very dusty window blinds Shower didn't drain properly We got bitten in our sleep
The hotel had plenty of character. It was a great value and was comfortable for me as I was not spending much time in the hotel. This place gets a bad rap but is really a quite pleasant hotel if you do not expect Waldorf amenities for a hostel price. Everything was clean and the staff/guests were friendly and polite. Overall, my stay was comfortable and enjoyable; however, I would not expect that my wife would have had the same opinion.
The check in policy is substandard. Do not expect to check in before noon and don't expect to get into the hotel before 2 unless someone happens to exit while you are waiting at the door. As such, the hotel provides no place to put your luggage if you wish to explore Philadelphia before you check in; however, I got in and left my bag in the office hallway and it was fine. There are only 15 TV channels and I never tried to use the WiFi. Be aware that your room will not be cleaned unless you request it. I felt safe in the hotel but the rooms are not extremely secure (a closet in my room had open access to the attic and there was no way for me to lock that closet). Also, during my stay the guests were courteous and kept noise down but had they not this would have been a major problem as the sound insulation is not superb.
Free water in mini fridge
Pubic hair in sheets, hair oil stains on dirty furniture, stains on old carpet, overall gross feeling when entering "junior suite"
The location was awesome. The lady who ran the check in was really nice.
They didn't have any soap in the bathrooms. So when I took a shower, there was no hotel soap
I like that the hotel was nice and quit
the room was extra extra small, nothing like the pictures on the site, well at least my room. i cannot speak for the other rooms. there was cable but not movie channels. my boyfriend and i watch the news which wasn't interesting, so i pulled out my tablet and we watched movies on Netflix. also staffs are not available at night -_-
Don't believe bad reviews about this place, it's a great place to stay
Within a block to points of interest. Great customer service. Our room was just painted, nice high ceiling with crown molding, old style. We had a great room with a view. Liberty bell and Ben franklins museum just around the corner. Everything is at a walking distance.
Hallway Carpets not clean and worn. No elevator. We got a room on the second floor.
