FAQs about hotels in Indianapolis

The Crossroads of the USA

Indianapolis is known as the Crossroads of America and it certainly provides a cross-section of US life. Practically every music genre and cuisine are covered, as are all the classic American sports.

The city has earned international famed through the Indianapolis 500, the highlight of the IndyCar racing season held at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The track also hosts the NASCAR Brickyard 400, while the Indiana capital’s NFL team wow the crowds at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The city also has a rich cultural offering with museums covering everything from the Civil War to contemporary art. At the world’s largest Children’s Museum dinosaurs can be seen trying to make their escape. Perhaps they’re heading for the White River, whose peaceful banks are lined with several parks and Indianapolis Zoo, opposite the restaurants and entertainment venues of the vibrant Downtown.

The Central Canal overlooks the skyscrapers which now eclipse The Soldiers and Sailors Monument, once the tallest building. To the north is the Indiana War Memorial, while west is the State Capitol, a block from the Indianapolis Convention Center. Across the street is Circle Center Mall, just one Indy shopping option.

The accommodation on Booking.com ranges from city centre hotels with pools to cheap motels by Indianapolis Airport and on the interstates circling this cosmopolitan city.

    Hotel is under reconstruction.

Hotel is under reconstruction. Room was next door to remodeling... they banged away until after 7 PM! Room was dirty, WiFi didn't work at all, "Breakfast" was worst we found on a two week roadtrip, We dumped the coffee and left! Would NEVER stay again.

    We stayed for 3 nights.

We stayed for 3 nights. It was race weekend so bookings were slim. It would have been about $240 any other time but because it’s race week end we paid almost $800. We knew this ahead of time. My problems were how dirty the room was. I took pictures! They never came near the room. I mean no trash was emptied, no clean towels were left. I found a cart and took what we needed. They never made the bed. That I don’t mind I made them everyday myself. I will not go back to that place again. Also the breakfast consisted some waffles and some mini muffins. That was it!

Oh my goodness! What happened to this motel chain?

Oh my goodness! What happened to this motel chain? It used to be trusted as a comfortable place to sleep. No frills. But now I never plan to stay at one again. Half the place was condemned, No elevator, though we were on the second floor. The rooms reeked of cigarette smoke and just plain filth. Windows had no screens yet opened wide so small children could jump/fall out. Individuals from the homeless community overran the place. There were solicitations of drugs and prostitution going on in the parking lot. The morning after our (thank god) only one night stay, I found my gas had been siphoned from my vehicle. The only reason we did stay was we booked it ahead of time and it was not refundable.

I attended the Indy Pop Con with my daughters and we had a great time. We had to check out a day early because of my job. We really enjoyed our stay. We checked in and done some shopping and the mall is great . I was really impressed with The Red Roof Inn because it was very quiet and that was what we wanted. Thank you for a great vacation.

Indianapolis is a rather quiet city.

Indianapolis is a rather quiet city. It doesn't have the hustle and bustle of a New York or Chicago. However they have a cultural area in the city with many attractions for tourists: museums, a zoo, parks, and a lovely canal on which you can rent a paddle boat or travel on a Venice-like gondola. It's a very sports-oriented city with little emphasis on classical art or music, or modern art for that matter. But I was only in Indianapolis for two days, so I may be missing a lot. I'd say it's worth visiting for a few days.

the facilities are ok, a reasonable price . breakfast, they should put more variety, a frozen sandwich, donuts, muffins, coffee and juice I think it is little, yogurt and fruit would be very good from my point of view, the beds are very comfortable, shops nearby , close to downtown Indianapolis. I stayed 3 nights at least they made my bed and took out the garbage, it was a family trip in general my stay in this hotel was good and I would stay there again.

Breakfast was okay. Manager and employee having a not-so-appropriate conversation right by the tables where my 4-year-old and I were eating. Besides that, the staff was wonderful and attentive to everything though. We received a ride to and from the airport no problem, the hotel was not overly busy. For having no idea where I was in Indianapolis, I felt safe and comfortable for the 1 evening I needed before going home.

Of all the Comfort Inns around Indianapolis this location outshines all the rest. The others remind you constantly that you're staying in a "budget friendly" hotel while the Indianapolis East location makes you feel like you're staying in a much pricier property. It's clean, updated, well maintained and with friendly, helpful staff. This location will be my go-to any time I'm in the Indianapolis area!

The hotel was awesome! The room was so nice and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was so pleasent and comfortable and had everything we needed. Everytime you walked in the hotel you smelled bleach...it was extremely clean. They even let us check in early because we arrived much earlier than we thought. It made the whole trip worth it. I will stay there every time I come to Indianapolis.

Very nice place for a budget consideration! Clean, well kept, safe hotel. Plenty of things to do quite close by in Avon, basically a straight line drive to Downtown Indianapolis. Made our beds every night. Friendly management. They took cash for the room deposit which was nice too! I’m glad that the reviews on this site were right.
