Port Charlotte looks like it is going downhill.
Port Charlotte looks like it is going downhill. Some malls had only a few stores and many stores have left the malls. Empty stores.
Dirty unkept areas, boulevards, parking lots were seen everywhere. Garbage was noticed in parking lots, and along roadways.
We won’t be back. Nicer areas in Florida to visit. Port Charlotte is not one of them.

The rooms are large, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, small kitchen but is quite adequate. The condo is dated but clean. Great pool area. Parking is below the condo complex so covered parking. Big screened in porch with a couple of chairs and small table. Great value for the price.

It was a very outdated but clean home.
It was a very outdated but clean home. Only the bathrooms had newer counters. Master bath had a commode that was very old, noisy, short and small.
Since it is not easy to rent a house similar to the one owned we managed to function.
It could be a higher rated house if a total remodeling/upgrading was done.

One of my favorite areas of Florida.
One of my favorite areas of Florida. Close to Boca Grande and kayaking in the turquoise water. Close to Fisherman’s Village in Punta Gorda with the great shops and restaurant selections. Don’t forget Port Charlotte, it is a wonderful town with lots to do fir everyone!
We stayed here during Hurricane Ian, which passed right over the hotel. The hotel lost power during the storm, but the staff, was excellent, providing assistance to the guests all the while securing the hotel against the 155 MPH winds and 22 inches of rain that fell. Even though there was this raging hurricane going on, the staff still managed to serve free breakfast. My heartfelt thanks to all of the staff for keeping us all safe!!!
I left before Breakfast was ready. But no grab bags even tho clerk from last night said there would be. Also , no shuttle to the airport and that is part of reason we picked this hotel. However. Clerk did offer to pay for taxi or Uber to airport (family got me to airport)
No carpet or flooring in hallways, plastic over the windows in the rooms, no drapes or blinds. This hotel should have been closed down for these renovations, instead of trying to book people in this dump. I checked in and right back out.
Scott the host is excellent- very responsive, kind, and accommodating. The location for Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte activities is excellent and the park/ocean is a short walk down the street. Cute little cottage.
Out of the 3 hotels i stayed on my cycling trip, i was shockingly surprised how clean and neat it was...was also helped by maintainance...and close to all the important amenities...will stay there again.
If you travel with family it's a perfect choice. I traveled with wife + 2 babies and was really good for the price. Clean is OK and staff is great. I will stay again when get back back to Port Charlotte.
