Just lovely! Beautiful property, the owners are great, the room, the amenities, the drinks and snacks they have available (extra purchase), the location blocks away from restaurants, the breakfast well prepared! Don’t remember another place I stayed with such great cost benefit.

I appreciated the welcoming staff. We arrived before the check in time and was allowed to check in. The property was neat and clean. The pool was clean, hot enough. The family thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

A lovely clean little town located about a 2hr drive from Cape Town. Blown away with how well maintained the town is, with lots of little browsy type shops, coffee shops and restaurants. We didn't have time to hike but the trails looked great. Friendly locals. Located near to some wine farms as well.

Everything was lovely.
Everything was lovely. Excellent service, good facilities for kids. Children enjoyed the pools and play park. The astro turf for mini soccer and tennis courts are well maintained. The games room was not available for use due to a function, this was not ideal as it is part of the Montagu resort experience.and should always be open to its residents. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable and clean. The villa we stayed in is a bit dated. Generators should be used during loadshedding. All in all, a wonderful experience. I will definitely keep going back.

One of the most beautiful towns in South Africa, with mountains all round the views are beautiful throughout the year. The town has enough shops and restaurants for locals and tourists, but not so much that it becomes crowded (although I haven't been there during peak season). A good fusion between winelands and Karoo.

Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town.
Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town. We went for school rugby so did not get much time to spend sight seeing, but really enjoyed the natural beauty and friendliness of the towns' people. We had dinner at Mitchell's Pub and Grill....truly some of the most value for money and tasty rump steak I have had a very long time.

Beautiful old Cape town with many original buildings and points of interest. A walking tour around the town is pleasant as long as you steer clear of the main street and its surrounds, which are very shabby.
There are many choices of venue to have a meal if you are not fussy about food, but for fine dining you should try the Montagu Country Hotel's Charleston Restaurant.
Kathleen and Gary have created the perfect place to stay for enjoying the endless possibilities for things to do in Montagu. Kathleen prepares the most amazing breakfasts including traditional African items if you are adventurous. She will tailor your experience so it suits you. We feel the same way about the entire stay. Several places to lounge so comfortably to suit your mood and the temps. Other guests during our stay were also repeat guests so that says it all — it is so perfect that you’ll be back again and again.
What did I like...everything!!! This is such a special place being Art Deco it manages and functions like any modern hotel. The staff are super friendly and see to all your needs. We stayed over 1 night but that's just a tease as one should spend a lot more time in this great hotel. We did Dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant and tea and cake on the terrace. Dinner was really good as was the breakfast. The room was large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. The gardens are manicured and very pretty.
Small boutique hotel (only four rooms I believe) with friendly owners and staff, lovely breakfast (with all guests together!) which is homemade, beautiful estate and very very very nicely decorated. These owners have an exquisite eye for detail and design. The pool is comfortable. Everything is well thought of. The staff already made dinner reservation for us as we arrived on a Monday, which has fewer restaurants that are open.
We stayed one night at Vineyard Montagu, we were lucky enough to meet the owner of the hotel who was very lovely and super friendly.
As we were there on a Sunday the owner had kindly prebooked us a table at the only restaurant open in town. Which was super thoughtful and greatly appreciated as we hadn’t even though about it!
The grounds, vines and gardens were lovely as was the out building for breakfast.
The farm, it's rooms and facilities were idyllic. Centrally located, with magnificent views, friendly staff and delightful doggies as tourist guides, this place is the perfect escape from the city.
The Victorian bath tub, fireplace and French balcony in the room was a treat. Great restaurants a 2 - 4 minute drive away, the sleepy town of Montagu exceeded expectations!
Beautiful surroundings... So natural it was perfect for what we went for and the owners were very welcoming and kind I loved it and woukd like to book there again our neighbors greeted us the next day Montague is perfect for a break away from the city me and my fiance will. most definitely return to complete our hiking trails we started😁👍
Wonderful comfortable farm house with enough space for my family to enjoy. Lovely views, peace and quiet, surrounded by lots of nature.
Hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome with added little personal touches Close to hot mineral springs, walks, and lots of wine farms for a day trip.
This is one of the most charming places we’ve ever stayed. we enjoyed cooling off in the plunge pool, both an inside shower and an outside shower looking up at the mountains, so many private books and crannies to relax in, EVERYTHING! Superb!!! Lambs and chickens on the farm were fun!
A stunning gem of a farm set-up, just off the main road to Montagu. A stunning set-up with beautiful cottages around a small dam/waterhole with an amazingly kept garden. The idyllic feeling of being remotely in nature and stunning mountain views around you.
A very peaceful off the grid cottage, very close to Montagu. Very pretty location, great built in braai on the patio of the cottage. The room was clean and the self catering kitchen had everything we needed. A wonderful country getaway.
Wonderful hosts and excellent accommodation. The welcome messages from Genevieve put the icing on the cake. Close proximity to the Montagu Springs is a definite bonus!
