Location in Franschhoek was excellent with safe parking. Appartment was beautiful.
Wifi was poor. No aircon.
Loved the decor and the location right in the middle of the town. The rooms were furnished very well and the security was good
I didn't like the fact that I was charged more than the amount given be Booking.com plus a £10 transaction fee which was also not mentioned.
Great location in the centre of the town. Well equiped kitchen with lots of unexpected extras . Bathrooms well done with great baths and little extra touches like candles and bubble bath.
There was night time work in the bistro directly opposite the apartment with drills and hammering which kept us all awake until 0500 , then we were woken up at 0700 by someone ringing the doorbell because they wanted to wash the car , we didn't want this but they did it anyway and rang again at 0715 for money , we had to wash the windows ourselves before we left as it was so badly done .
Good accommodation, liked the apartment and would like to use it again.
The restaurant down stairs are remodeling and they woked at night. At around 22:30/23:00 we had to go downstairs and asked them to stop hammering so taht we can sleep.
Good position in the village
Did not think it rated four star compared to other places we have stayed
Everything but tge bed
The bed. Woke up with back ache every morning
Location, decor, spaciousness
The penthouse is gorgeous and full of character. It has been equipped with everything one needs and more, with even cooking condiments being provided. There are books to read, DVDs to watch (mainly for children), lots of information about things to do and places to see. Unlimited free Wi-Fi is a great offering. Of course the location is just the best! You are right in the centre of town with a multitude of shops, eateries and more within walking distance. We had 4 days of immaculate weather which just added the cherry on top for our wedding anniversary getaway.
There is an option to include breakfast @ r50 per person per day, but this is a little misleading. It does not mean that you are getting a full breakfast included with your stay as one would expect at a hotel or B&B. Here you get breakfast vouchers to the value purchased, allowing you to eat breakfast at a nominated café only up to the value of the voucher. Any food/drink purchased over the voucher value has to be paid in. Not a train smash, but just be aware of this, and I have to say that the food at the café is really good.
Sadly our experience was not a pleasant one. A disaster. What you see on their web site is very misleading. We certainly would not have stayed there had we first seen the apartment. The place is tired. Had a strong smell of wood fire from the fireplace. Tatty. We often stay in Franschoek at very comfortable places but decided to try this one in the main street for position. We arrived on a Sat afternoon when the temperature had dropped to 8 degrees, snow on the mountains and on arrival the accommodation was very cold and damp inside. None of the heaters or air conditioning units functioned to warm up the place. We asked the lady in the office to help and she sent two of the workers up who could do nothing. My wife was not prepared to stay in this cold environment for the weekend and we left. The bill had been settled in full before we saw the unit. No refund was offered. We were told to come back on Monday morning when the owner, Mrs Pat Ross would be back and we could discuss the problem with her. She was not back but her booking agent Daniele spoke to us on the phone and said the owner was not interested in refunding us ! I find this unacceptable, against all hospitality expectations and am quite disgusted in Mrs Ross's approach to handling the problem.
Great location on the main street, close to bars and restaurants. Apartment has everything you need, some items a little old, but clean.
Metal roof can be noisy.
Very central location
Woudl have preferred a view of vineyards
Excellent holiday apartment comfortably, well fitted out, homely and in the heart of the town.
No dislikes however can I suggest a few maintenance issues, A lot of floor tiles are drummy (tiles lifting) and your wind out canvas awning is ripped.
It was central, to shops etc
The fact that they wanted to install an aircon unit on the roof and that they needed to use my penthouse to access the roof on sat morning while I was getting ready for a wedding....appalling
Great location and very well furnished.
Only one air conditioning unit in the property which isn't sufficient in the hot summer months. Would suggest that they need to do something about this as it was almost un bearable at night in the bedrooms.
Perfect location, quirky ,well equipped. A lot of thought had gone in to the furnishing making it very comfortable.
If staying longer than a few days a small dishwasher would have been nice, but not essential.
Convenient for a variety of places to eat.
The breakfast was not great - you would do better to pay as you go at a variety of places in town. The air conditioning was not working, or when it was, it could not be used at the same time as the fridge! There was no view from the balconies.
The place was very 'shabby chic' - delightful. The location was perfect for restaurants, shops and strolling.
We would have preferred a good wifi so my husband could keep up with work emails.
The location and the balconys with great views.
Lovely modern, contemporary apartment in the heart of Franschoek. Fully equipped kitchen and nice relaxation area. Really big apartment as well, with 2 en suite bathrooms.
Although there was aircon in the lounge area, there wasn't any in the bedrooms. They did have fans, but in the heat of summer the rooms were very hot
Great location just off the main road through Franschhoek. Very comfortable but luxurious is rather overstating it.
The apartment was more than sufficient for our needs and we really enjoyed our stay.
The side road with the gate entrance was a little hard to spot, no other problems though.
Amazing Location, great facilities, nice size.
The walls are way too thin. It sounded like the neighbours were walking through our room.
Beautiful apartment in the middle of Franschhoek with good access to the town's restaurants. Very comfortable; space to relax.
