The room was beautiful, bed was so comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and newly renovated. Beautifully decorated. They were very accommodating with our dogs. Staff was wonderful and the breakfast options were beautiful (we had chose the smoked salmon breakfast and the full english)…. But OMG - the evening meals were DELICIOUS. Excellently prepared by an incredible chef. Fresh ingredients and flavours were amazing! We both had starters, that were gorgeous, I had the fish of the day main and my partner had lamb. We finished with dessert that was perfection! Definitely coming back every year! And plan to sneak back for some meals too since fortunately, we do not live to far away!

Set in Stoney Middleton and with Chatsworth House reachable within 8.2 km, The Moon Inn at Stoney Middleton offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a bar. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Buxton Opera House is 22 km away and FlyDSA Arena is 26 km from the inn.

We used the Moon Inn as a base to visit Chatsworth Christmas Market and we were very pleased with our experience. The room was very comfortable, and we experienced no noise from the outside or bar itself. The rooms are accessed from several outside steps, but these are well lit and there is a handrail where necessary. The staff without exception were really helpful and friendly, in particular the ladies who served us at dinner and breakfast. The meals themselves were freshly cooked and arrived piping hot at the table. The chef is obviously one to keep as we heard no complaints from neighbouring tables about portion size, choice of menu and the actual taste of the meals people had. Breakfast is big, so much so we did not feel the need to eat again until we arrived back home at around six thirty in the evening! My wife and I would not hesitate to return here in the future.

A delightful country house hotel by the side of the river Wye. The staff were exceptional.. anticipating our every need.. The food was absolutely delicious, with lots of lovely treats like mini Bakewell tarts with a pot of tea, choux buns in our room and warm scones to die for! It goes without saying that dinner was outstanding.

Bed was very comfortable and there was a good atmosphere at the hotel. Hotel room despite being by the carpark was very well kept and lovely touches with the coffee and music in the room (even though we didn't get time to have the coffee). Staff were pleasant and very willing to help on the whole, partlicularly the waiters at dinner.

A very nice place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean, fresh and modern. The location was perfect, right at Monsal Head. We stayed in the depths of winter but can imagine the adjacent area outside would be busier with tourists if you stayed in the summer months. Breakfast was excellent and we also had dinner in the evening too, which was also top notch. Real easy access to the Monsal Trail and overall a really good place and we recommend it
