This was a no frills hotel and yet was one of my favorite stays ever. The grounds were beautiful and well kept (they were repainting while we were there) and you can tell the owners/employees take great pride in their work. Everyone we spoke with was courteous and very helpful. The room and bathrooms were a good size, comfortable bed, strong air conditioning, and the pool was nice and cool; a great respite from the heat. You absolutely cannot beat the location! The Sisal neighborhood is just so charming and you’re just a couple of blocks from both the monastery and Calle de Los Frailes. There are no shortage of food/drink options and not sure if due to the holiday but always something going on in the late afternoon and evening. The value of Casa Sisal certainly cannot be beat.

A great little hotel on a great street in Villadolid, and with parking. Very attentive staff (9 years old wanted to go to pool at eight pm, and immediately a hotel person came with pool towels)

    Our tour guide, Jorge was very informative and spent a lot of time with us. I highly recommend hiring a guide. We wanted to learn as much about the Mayan culture as possible and we weren't disappointed. The overwhelming number of vendors was disappointing however and took away from the beauty of Chichen Itza.

    I've been to this site three times and still discovered new...

    I've been to this site three times and still discovered new things. Try to arrive sharp at 8 am or get in line a few minutes earlier to avoid the crowds, especially on Sundays when Mexican residents (with official ID) can enter for free. Use the entrance between the Temple of the Warriors to walk to the Market. Walk towards the hotels to see the Cenote Xtoloc. It's not as big as the Sacred Cenote (behind the Venus Platform), but most people miss it, and you can enjoy a less crowded view of the site.

    The best part of this hotel was the outside hammocks for us to enjoy after being in hotel rooms for many days. The rooms were very nice. We walked over to the cenote which was amazing. We had dinner at the restaurant and the included breakfast was great before a tour of Chichén Itzá. Host set up a private English speaking guide for us which made our experience so much better.

    The hotel is in short distance from the Archaeological site of Chichen Itza. They offer a good breakfast: pancakes, eggs, fruits etc. The pool is nice and well maintained. At reception we were able to secure us an English speaking guide for next morning for a fair price.

    Beautiful traditional hotel located on the archeological grounds of Chichen Itza, which made our early morning visit very easy and helped beat the crowds coming in on buses from Cancun. Room was lovely and traditional artwork and sculptures were bountiful throughout the common areas. Highly recommend this hotel and I would return the next time. I am in the area.
