location, ease of stay, Staff were exceptionally helpful. Could leave our bags there on the day we left to allow us to look around further without our luggage and picked them up just before the flight. The train is very close and so easy to get to from the airport. Is a budget hotel but everything was above and beyond my expectation.

We arrived an hour before check in time but we were told we could have our room early which was nice.
The location was good for us in the older part of the city, between Zurich train station and the boat quay. It took us only 8 minutes to walk from the train station to the hotel with our cases.
Easy to walk from the hotel around that part of the city, or numerous tram stops if going further afield which we also did.
Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area to suit all tastes.

Zurich is in some ways the best of big city and the best of...
Zurich is in some ways the best of big city and the best of a small town. If your life revolves around outdoor activities such as hiking, wake boarding, sailing, bicycling, rock climbing, mountain climbing, etc. then it is by far one of the best cities to live in. It's incredibly close to all of these things.
It's also centrally located in Europe, so you can easily visit France, Austria, Germany, or Italy with only a few hours train ride. You will travel a lot.
The city itself is beautiful. It is cleaner and safer than any other big city in the world. A corollary to the cleanliness is that you will spend far more of your life figuring out how to get rid of your trash than anywhere else you will ever live. (I personally was never able to fold my paper-recycling neatly enough to get it picked up. I am not joking.)
The Swiss are incredibly organized. Even the Germans make fun of how organized and un-spontaneous they are. When the government or a bank tells you to expect something within two weeks, it will probably show up in your mailbox within three business days. You will respond to mail faster than you ever have in your life.
The core of the city is only about 400,000 people. It's small. You may find yourself going nuts if you come from a big city, or if you like a bit of mayhem in your life. While there are many different activities to do, they may only happen once a week.

Zurich has so much character.
Zurich has so much character. Unlike other cities around the world, which build so many monuments and attractions, Zurich is “naturally” beautiful!! I spent most of my days traveling to other parts of Switzerland, but while in Zurich I was able to tour the Rhein falls, Lindt chocolate factory, the lake, the shops and much more!

Beautiful city and very peaceful atmosphere.
Beautiful city and very peaceful atmosphere. It was clean and quite a lot of interesting sites. Great mix of both old and new! Very expensive though. An icecream will be 4chan for 1 scoop and 8 or 9 chg for 2 scoops. A burger and fries at McDonald’s is 15-20chf which we thought was ridiculous. We took a couple of really great bus trips. One day to Leichtenstein and another day to Rheinfall, both were amazing!

Our favorite spots in Zurich were:
1.
Our favorite spots in Zurich were:
1. The Kunthaus museum, which has a spectacular collection of artworks and an insightful narrative
2. Luigia for dinner
3. Old town for shopping
4. Babu's for breakfast
We loved that it was accessible to areas further away like Rhine Falls and Uetliberg
What we didn't like
1. Everything was super expensive especially the Airbnb
First time traveling in Switzerland. Arrived in Zurich and needed a hotel close to the rail system in order to catch an early train to Zermatt the following day. Walhalla Guest House was perfect! Quiet, comfortable room, friendly and efficient front desk, and employee willingness to answer inquiries regarding future travel within the country was all greatly appreciated after a long flight from the US. Even better...a short walk to the train station! Maybe one minute tops. Will stay here again, and recommend to friends and family.
Great hotel, great staff (particularly thanks to Ginevra at the reception), really worth to stay over if you are travelling or if you are doing a stop at the Zurich Airport. Not too far from the city and well connected, not only via taxi but also via Trams and Buses.
The breakfast was ok, I was expecting a few more option but the things that were available were superb.
The restaurant was very good as well, a one-time free drink is included!
Great location, just in the middle of the Old town, Great room, clean and quiet, with AC.
Hotel staff was very friendly and informative. The hotel offer us free drinks (wine and beer) during the Euro football matches, We had a great time watching Swiss defeating France!!! We parked our car outside the city center and took the light city train to the Hotel, cheapest way o get there. Suberp city, very clean good shopping!!!
Great great location. Most of the great sites were only a few minutes walk away. Very convenient to reach the hotel from the airport. Take a train, get off at main station (Zurich HB) and the hotel is only 5 minutes walk away. Tram station was only 1 minutes walk away. Great variety of nearby restaurants and coffee shops.
Very friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. Efficient house keeping services.
one of the best hotels in Zurich. this was the second time I stayed in this hotel. I love the location as there is Coop just two minutes walk away and Orlikon station is five minutes with trains coming every 5-10mins. once again we got the front view, upon request. staff was very kind and supportive. specially the Philippino staff at the reception. breakfast is too good 😊
would love to book it again.
Very friendly staff, great location, had a facility to store luggage before our evening flight and also a waiting lounge to relax after we checked out and waited to leave for the airport. Rooms/hotel is very basic/old, but was perfect for a 1 night Zurich stay en route to airport. Well priced. In the old town and close to restaurants, bars, shops etc. and quick walk to main Zurich train station (HB).
The location is excellent. It is very close to the main station (Zurich HB) and located very close to the Old Town so exploring was very easy.
The hotel is very nice and has a boutique feel. In the surrounding areas there are many food options but probably the best value for money is in the Old Town.
Being so close to ZHB means it was very easy to go to places like Lucerne.
This is a good value for money hotel considering that Zurich is a super expensive place to stay. The rooms were in excellent condition, it seemed like they were recently renovated, and they were very clean. The hotel is also in walkable distance from the city center and very close to the train station which makes it a great option if you are having a short visit in Zurich.
Location is perfect. Near restaurants and Bars if you want to go out at night.
McDonald's right across the street.
Close to Europaallee and Zürich HB.
24hs open store downstairs.
Guys are 100% supportive and super nice.
Massive difference on cost versus other hotels. If you are on short trip and not looking specifically for luxury, this is the right place.
it was very nice and clean - the lobby area was well done and welcoming, and for the price I thought it was really good! when we looked it was one of the cheapest hotels we could find but it didn’t seem budget at all really. Great location to walk to Lake Zurich and Old Town as well.
Awesome hotel for my stay in Zurich. I loved the little touches like free water in the fridge and Toblerone on the pillows. The staff was very friendly and helped me print some needed forms. They also gave me instructions on how to get to the airport from the train station.
The hotel is really interesting in terms of location, as it is close to a line that goes to the airport and another that goes to the city center, so for those using the Zurich Card it is a good option. The attendants were friendly, communicative and very pleasant.
Dear Sir/madam,
I am back to Germany this week. I was there at the Hotel and I used the code but I couldn't enter the Hotel. so I had to go to IBIS Hotel in Zürich and pay twice the amount. so I am asking u to refund the booking fee.
best regards,
Everything was excellent. Baur au Lac in Zurich and San Souci in Vienna are the two best hotels i have ever stayed at. (Stayed in maybe 60 different 5 star hotels in the last 10ish years)
The location of the hotel is very good near Lake Zurich and not far from the city center.
Near the hotel is a train station, which takes you straight to the international airport Kloten.
Location is very good, Goldbrunnen tram stop just seen from hotel. From there direct tram to main train station Zurich Hb ( and then to ZRH airport) every 10-15min.
Prices are low for a hotel in Zurich. Located right next to the end of tram line 14 for easy access to Zurich city centre. Relatively close to the airport as well.
