In winter, Guardamar is a rather quiete place to stay in.
In winter, Guardamar is a rather quiete place to stay in. There are still enough facilities and restaurants open, but you easily feel this is a place that thrives in summertime. Weekends were rather busy, though. Guardamar is a nice place for strolls on the boulevard or palmtree avenida. Santa Pola and Torrevieja are closeby and Alicante is just 40km-ish away. The town/village was quiet when we were there - October. It is a typical Spanish Town, beautiful with local shops, restaurants and absolutely amazing beach with golden sands. a quite typical Spanish town with plenty of eateries and tavernas. The promenade by the park is a great place to sit, have a drink and people watch the families at play on the swings and slides with many a game of chase and football for free entertainment. Parks are worth a stroll when a rest from the beach is needed. Also a must is to sit on a bench, enjoy an ice cream on the beachfront promenade and people watch to chill out.
