This outdated hotel left me with many disappointments. First of all, the "automatic" front door doesn't open automatically — it must be pulled open by hand, which already gave a poor first impression. I had requested an extra bed well in advance, but when I arrived after 7 p.m., it was not in the room. I had to go to the front desk and ask someone to bring it in. As for the extra bed itself — it was shaped like a "U," sagging badly in the middle, making for an extremely uncomfortable night's sleep. There was also a white panel mounted on the wall in the room, with no label or explanation of its purpose, but it emitted a strange noise throughout the night. It disrupted my sleep so badly that I finally had to unplug it. The so-called continental breakfast offered nothing warm or comforting for my 70-year-old parents visiting from China — it was completely underwhelming. Finally, when checking out, I was told that the payment I had already made via Booking.com could not be used, and I was required to submit payment again. At this point, I can’t help but feel that all of these issues weren’t just a coincidence — it was a consistently poor experience from start to finish

As we were on a motorcycle trip with a specific agenda it didn't allow for extra time to be spent exploring Powell River but definitely a return visit is in the future plans. It's a lovely town and our accommodation was fabulous!!

Powell River is a "jumping off point" for outdoor enthusiasts and has loads of natural beauty. The town itself is nothing special, but the local people have a welcoming, casual and unpretentious vibe that is really charming. The Old Courthouse Inn and its Edie Rae Cafe are a slice of the Victorian past. Magpie's has delicious breakfasts with a Ukrainian flare.

Powell River is a pleasant surprise once you get there by ferry. It has charm and a heritage feel to the lovely old neighbourhoods. There is history worth noting. The people were very friendly, it was easy to find dining. I wouldn't have guessed 'Snickers' to be a Greek restaurant but we gave it a try. The portions were huge! And the ferry ride over to Vancouver Island was right in the middle of town and easy to access.

The area is beautiful, especially when looking west at the ocean. People were very friendly everywhere we went. There are some great restaurants. However, electric vehicle charging could have been better.

I grew up here, so it’s always nice to return. It’s a very different town now that the paper mill has closed. Not as vibrant, but the historic townsite is still very interesting to see. The Patricia Theatre is the oldest working cinema in BC. There are good trails and places for water sports.

I enjoyed the many trail options and the gorgeous sunsets, especially viewed from Willington beach. Really enjoyed walking the well maintained seawall. Also, enjoyed the friendly pickleball club, they were very welcoming. The choice of diverse restaurants was appreciated. The people are relaxed and friendly. Our favourite restaurant was the Cookery in Powell river. Getting around via bike ,bus or shuttle option was easy.

Lovely host, lovely stay. Host is very responsive and friendly. Close to powell river. Space can be a bit tight but the cabin overall is great. It was a bit awkward showering in the bathtub, and I know the host said you can use full showers, but they are outside of the cabin, and just not practical. Otherwise great experience, would come back again for sure!

The staff was very friendly and it was a budget stay. A little ways out of Powell River, but a good option for low cost if visiting Powell river. Little picnic benches outside and a camp ground next door. Def clean enough, plus included a little kitchenette. Very Retro - feels like the late 1900's but very doable for a few nights stay.

Great location. Granada restaurant across the street is excellent. Townsite brewery is a block away as is a liquor store. We took our refreshments out on the restaurant patio in the afternoons for our happy hour. About 20 minute drive to Myrtle Point Golf club.

We liked the location, half way between Powell River and Lund and off the highway. It was quiet, well treed, with a nice view of the Salish Sea and Vancouver Island. The hosts were helpful (we needed help to figure out the shower tap) without being intrusive.
