Really great value for what you get for a hostel dorm bed!! The place is a hotel first and foremost then has one female dorm room but you get a huge space to yourself, no bunk beds, multiple towels and toiletries, and it’s generally super cute and homey. Kitchen was massive and always immaculate condition and being that it was a hotel, almost always empty. Pool also huge and really beautiful, also kept up well and tons of nice seating/lounge areas (even better than the photos). Staff were always super kind and helpful and genuinely cared if you had an issue. Live music basically every night but always done by 10pm and it actually created a really lovely atmosphere, this place is basically an institution in Darwin so everyone comes out to have a good time! Location cannot be beat!!

Darwin displays a cocktail of cultures from ‘Aussie larrikins’ to the local Aboriginals from Larrakia Country. Throw in an influx of international visitors who now call the Top End of Australia home, and this concoction bedazzles with busy outdoor markets and an adequate supply of drinking holes (pubs).
The modern Darwin Wharf precinct, including Stokes Hill Wharf, still gleams on those endless summer days having been rebuilt after the destruction caused both during World War II bombings and Cyclone Tracey. Grab a bar stool with a view of the harbour or a seat on a terrace and sip a cool drink in Australia’s northernmost, tropical capital city.
A popular time for tourists is Darwin’s dry season that starts in May and ends in October. If you prefer it hot and humid, then the end of the wet season can be spectacular when the waterfalls in Kakadu and Litchfield national parks are at their mightiest.
Australia’s wild frontier can be reached all the way from Adelaide and Alice Springs along the picturesque Stuart Highway that ends at Daly Street in the CBD. Outside the centre are the natural surrounds in Palmerston, Humpty Doo and closer by is Mindil Beach with its famous Sunset Market.
Darwin International Airport has international flights from Singapore and Bali. You can choose from a variety of hotels, hostels and apartments on Booking.com.

It was wet season but that made it more pleasant as it kept things a little cooler and less crowded. I would definitely go in the wet season again. I loved the lush tropical feel and smell of the foliage. The scenery was amazing and the fact it is a small city made it easy to walk and use E scooters. Plenty of picturesque foliage and water scenes. Shopping also convenient with major supermarket open until late.
Must visit us Aquascene to feed the fish at high tide. Check website for opening times as they change depending on tides.
Monsoons is nice for food on the main street.
On Litchfield st is Tim's Surf and Turf. Great food, kids treated well, lots of families and Tim is a great host.
Get out to Cullen Bay for a chill walk and a few restaurants.
The wharf area and waterfront definitely worth a visit and only short walk from main street. Catch a free shuttle which will take you around the wharf area and waterfront to save your legs.

Most things are close by, lots to do, free things to do, beautiful sunrise and sunset, good restaurants.
Must see:- sunset at Mindil Casino, dinner at the waterfront, swim in the man made lagoon.
I recommend the hop on hop off bus tour.
Parking in the city can be difficult but you can Uber anywhere in the city in 5-10 mins. Wait time for an Uber is 1-2 mins.
Favourite places to eat - Hanuman Restaurant and Trampoline ice cream.
Darwin Hotel and the Deck Bar have good food and atmosphere.
Do not recommend Monsoon. The burger buns are hard as a rock.

While it was very humid and a few short showers as its at the end of the wet season .I loved the stunning scenery .Darwin while its a city you can still relax ,chill out. The waterfront area is a great place to relax ,dine out and catch up with a few friends. Darwin is a easy city to get around we used Uber and Public Transport NSW Seniors get free transport just flash your seniors card.
If you want they have lots of scooters around town to hire .
We loved learning about the history of Darwin. Plenty of places that you can enjoy for free. My best tip is go to the NT Tourism Office they have all the info you need and can help you with any bookings
We did Kakadu by flight ,day trip to Lichfield ,Sail Darwin and cruise on the harbour about the Bombing of Darwin . Loved going out to Stoke wharf and enjoying the local resturants.

There is almost nothing to do in Darwin and downtown there are
lot of homeless people. From Darwin you can do day excursions, for example to Kakadu, but you will spend about 8 hours on a bus or minivan. It is not worth!

Darwin is a fantastic place for a holiday.
Darwin is a fantastic place for a holiday. Particularly if you like hot weather war history or natural beauty.
Best time to travel is in the dry season if you can (Aussie winter) because you will find everything open and accessible.
But if you want everything to yourself the wet season (Aussie summer) is okay (just expect some things to be closed, and your eyeballs will sweat from the humidity) but if you can get out of the heat every once and awhile still a great holiday will be had!
They have lots of interesting places to visit like the world war 2 museums, oil storage tankers, aviation museum, Royal Flying doctors museum. Litchfield national park is not far out of Darwin where you can take in the natural beauty and plenty of waterfalls (dry season).
The wharf area for foodies, plenty of hotels and night life in Mitchell Street.
If you are up for a tour there are plenty to Kakadu, Litchfield, fishing tours, helicopter and Darwin harbour cruises.
We spent 10 days in Darwin (not our first visit) so our trip was more about relaxation this time but you could easy fill a couple of weeks looking at everything Darwin has to offer.
I would recommend unless you plan on paying for tours, taxis or ubers etc a car is nearly essential (makes it way easier to get around, particularly in the heat).
If you are travelling in the wet season (Aussie Summer) then check your hotel facilities are actually open (we found a hotel we stayed at didnt have the pool bar or restaurant open).
The room was well-equipped and quiet. The air conditioning was very effective and not loud at all. The rooms have double glazing on their sliding doors which blocked out road noise well. The staff were friendly. Underground parking was very inexpensive. The hotel was clean and pleasant and the beds were comfortable. The location was great. Away from the noisy part of the city and easy to get in and out of town. A great place to stay for a few nights.
Fantastic!! In a great location, all you could need and more in the apartment, pools on the same level, sunsets from the pool were stunning, sunrise from the balcony looking out towards Charles Darwin NP & the waterfront, delicious coffee really close by (Postie), info centres a short walk away, waterfronts about 15 minutes walk away. Just a really really good spot to enjoy Darwin!
Everything was spot clean and prefect. First time in Darwin and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Hotel was close to shops, so much room in apartment, Loved the balcony as it lead to overlooking a part of the city. Apartment was nicely soundproof as we couldn’t hear much of the outside. Was able to just kick back and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The location.
Airport & Darwin city only 10 minutes away.
Resort was safe, with key access to gated Carpark.
Comfortable, very clean, apartment.
Nice big balcony, with good outlook to parkland.
Enjoyed the Parap Saturday market vibes, just a few steps away from the complex.
Good cafes, great local crafts, nice small shops to browse.
We liked everything about this hotel. Our room was clean and nicely fitted out, as was the bathroom. It was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping in the city. They have 24 hour reception so it is a secure hotel with secure parking. Extremely affordable for a 4.5 star hotel. Will definitely stay again.
When we arrived in out allocated room we found airconditioning leaking - told Reception and
they moved us immediately into a bigger room with great aircon. Hotel close to eating facilities
at neighbouring Airport Tavern which was convenient.
Brilliant location on the Darwin waterfront with bars, restaurants, parks and recreation option all around - also easy access to the city area. Comfortable and spacious rooms with everything you need. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Late night flight into Darwin prior to holiday, the hotel is an easy stroll from the airport. They allowed us to stay on for a meal and to wait around the pool until the rest of our group arrived into Darwin airport.
The hotel seems quite new. The rooms are really big and comfortable. Breakfast omelettes were very good. Palmerston is about 25 minutes out of Darwin city, but suited us quite well.
The hotel is very well maintained very clean & in a quiet & convenient location only a short 20kms drive from Darwin city.
The hotel is close to the large Gateway Shopping Centre.
