Mariposa is an interesting little town with lots of places to eat and a variety of interesting and quirky shops. The locals were friendly and helpful. It is very conveniently located for those wishing to visit Yosemite National Park. The drive on the back roads from El Portal to Mariposa boasts some spectacular views

Mariposa is a nice country town with good range of shops, services and food options for its size (including a supermarket), even in our early spring visiting time. This is due to its proximity to Yosemite NP about 70km away (our reason for visiting). If using the YARTs bus service to access the park its a great base.

Mariposa is about as close you can get to Yosemite without staying in the park, but it's still an hour drive from the valley. This is fine if you're visiting the park for 1 or 2 days, but after 2 days, you'll definitely have had enough of the driving. The town itself is very cute and has tons of nice places to eat. There is also a very large supermarket.

Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see.

Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see. We stayed there to visit Yosemite. But Mariposa has no mobile coverage, Had we known that beforehand, we'd have stayed in Yosemite village, inside the park, which has good mobile coverage.

Great little town, very hot in the summer.

Great little town, very hot in the summer. Near the Yosemite Park entrance that is closest to Yosemite Valley. It is historic with several nice shops and restaurants. Check out The Grove House for a great selection of Micro Brews and great food. Excellent mixed drinks and live music as well! Stay here if you don't want to spend over $400.00 a night!

Great location right in the middle of Mariposa and walking distance to many good restaurants. Close to Yosemite and a good spot to stay for a few days of exploring the park. We were in the studio room - which was spacious for 3 people and had a kitchenette, which was convenient. Highly recommend the food truck/restaurant across the street, The Grove House, and the coffee shop down the street, Tunnel View. Overall, it’s a bit dated and nothing fancy - but it’s an easy quiet affordable place to stay near Yosemite.

From check-in to check-out, my father and I had a great experience at this motel. We were frantic to book a location that was able to accommodate last minute requests after our original booking with another hotel fell through the cracks. Miner's Inn gave us a room and I wished we had originally heard about this place first. The Lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. The room was bigger than I had originally expected and clean for a motel. I'm definitely coming back here next time I go to Yosemite.

While not brand new or top of the line, everything from the lobby to the room and parking lot appears well-kept. I was happy to find a clean and comfortable place for under $100, especially when I booked it just a few hours before arriving late at night. Breakfast was small, but included as part of my stay and very convenient for those looking to grab and go early (breakfast started at 6 am). Mariposa is about as close to Yosemite Valley as you can get while still being in a real town.

First and foremost, all the staff we interacted with were super friendly. The room was a good size with a comfortable king-size bed. The inn is located in a spot on the egde of town, which means it’s nice and quiet despite being right off the main road; at the same time there’s a gas station, a supermarket, a diner, a bistro and a restaurant just a few hundred meters away, so there’s plenty of choice in terms of food and dining. The ride to Yosemite does take a while though.

The room was very comfortable, quiet, and clean. Walking distance to many restaurants. Very good value, especially mid-week in November. It was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. Keep the fridge on a not-to-cold setting like 2 though because it froze my subway sandwich when I set it higher! The Wi-Fi was very good. The staff were very nice and helpful. Mariposa is a charming town and a great stop on the way to much more expensive lodging that is closer to Yosemite.

It’s a great place! I liked it more, then some hotels in Mariposa. Our studio was comfy, decorated, clean. The kitchen had everything you need, including some coffee/drinks ets. I loved big windows with mountains view and patio. The owner was very polite and answered quickly. And it’s pet friendly without fee, which is perfect! Yes, cleaning fee is pricy, but even worser hotels cost more then this place + fee, especially if you have a pet

Great place! The room is really clean and nice! There are separate houses, so lodgers will not bother each other. Staff is friendly and very patient to explain the solution of our question. It takes 40 mins driving to Yosemite Park, and 10 mins to Mariposa if you like any Mexican food and prepare food and drinks from the mini mart. If you don’t mind a little more driving, this place is a pretty good choice!

The rooms are cute. This is a very old motel that has been nicely remodeled. It is located within walking distance of all downtown Mariposa. The proximity to Yosemite National Park makes the entire area expensive so this was one of the more reasonable options. It is very small so it is very easy access with luggage etc... The air conditioning made the room comfortable.

Staff were very friendly and helped order our dinner when we arrived late and most restaurants were closed by 9pm. Light breakfast was included even though not listed in the hotel description and this was very useful as most places open only by 8am. Rooms were very clean. Get your lunch sandwiches at Pioneer market nearby (opens at 7am) if you drive to Yosemite.

Kind, helpful owners will provide anything you may reasonably need. Charming place in the wild. Direct contact with nature: there are groups of wild animals wandering around in nearest proximity to the house. Amazing view at the hills. Besides, good WiFi, coffee machine in the room with a wide selection of coffee and tea types, fridge and microwave.

Within the shortest time you are part of Ruth's family. Wonderful person who runs a top B&B in the middle of nature

Beautiful countryside environment, especially in the late Spring. Lovely to take a walk before a delectable breakfast. Easy access, 45 minutes, to Yosemite by car. Local town of Mariposa has several museums and historical interest. Inn is homey, not ostentatious, comfortable, great library. Staff and owner most hospitable.
