We stayed 7 days in Los Angeles in July, the high season. I would suggest choosing a nice place to stay in advance, as we booked last minute and ended up in a hotel by the freeway. Everything is by credit card, and there is usually a deposit taken at most places. This year was very expensive for food, petrol, activites and accomodation. It was fun seeing all the sights, but lots of tourists and traffic jams. Its open 24/24 and there is always something to do or see. I went with family, i think it was a bit much by the end of the week, lots of noise . Dont forget to tip ! if you need a break, i would recommend getting out of LA and spending a few nights in san diego, very calm and friendly. Disney land and universal studios are so expensive!!!!!!!!!! We didnt end up going it was too crazy over priced.
First time in LA. Stayed a week in downtown Los Angeles, CitizenM, 4th & Spring St. Highly recommend. Downtown LA... not so much. Homelessness, blithe. Depressing. Enjoyed LA Cafe, Grand Central Market, several local shops. Overall, underwhelmed by the all famous "LA".
The hotel should be reported to the health department for violating cleanliness standards. They get a ZERO from me and my wife. They should be audited by the health department. The sheets in te bed were not changed and very gooey both on the sheets and on the furniture, I had the night manager Evelyn and Anthony(Food and beverage) come to our room and see how horrible they are. The Hyatt Regency should be hut down for an audit. They will not pass especially during Covid-19 still being around. I am disgusted.
Los Angeles itself is too huge to comrehend. We spent our time in Venice, Santa monica and Hollywood. The beach is incredible. No commuter traffic so you need a car. Driving here is hard so be safe on the roads.
I live 2 1/2 hours away so I know that I can drive up at any time. My favorite places are museums - The Getty being number one. If you like amusement places - you have such a large choice. Beach - huge stretches of them - park on the street to make it cheaper and use a wagon to bring stuff to the sand. If you want to just look at mansions, drive on most streets in Beverly Hills - I loved Beverly Drive. If you like to drive, try Mulholland Drive for lovely scenery. This trip I chose to just indulge in food in areas I would not normally have (Santa Monica Blvd in SilverLake and Rodeo Drive area). If you like a home-made ordinary meal try Cantor's Restaurant and then get their home-baked cookies to go. And of course, if you like fashion there are 2 places to go to: Fashion District and of course Rodeo Drive.
Noisy, lots of traffic, hard to get anywhere. We used uber. San Diego is nice town, very nice walk by the ocean, good restaurants. Was a little disappointed with Rodeo Drive and Hollywood blvd. At night in LA is too dark, not enough light. The main feeling - this is one of the big cities, has no "point" to go there. Solvang is amazing place, but keep in mind that it is too far from LA - took us about 3 hours to get there. And all stores close at 5 pm. Need to stay there at least a night to be able to see all interesting places.
The location was unbeatable but on top of that the customer service was amazing. Honestly the best customer service I’ve ever had and we stay at hotels often. They were so helpful and always wanted to help us and every staff member we saw was the same in wanting to assist us in any way possible. The view was amazing. It was clean. The beds were comfortable and the blankets and towels were not cheaply made. I would 100% stay there for much longer next time. And right next to everything you need. It was awesome.
We have stayed here several times. The room is a good value for LA, and a nice location for visiting the Little Tokyo area, the Arts District, Grand Central Market and downtown museums. The hotel is a short walk or Uber from Union Station if arriving by FlyAway bus from the airport. The rooms have some Japanese type amenities (the toilet in particular) and are large and comfortable. The staff is always very nice and helpful and the rooms are very quiet.
The Huntley Hotel is conveniently located off of the California Incline and access to Hwy 1 and Hwy 10 toward LA. The views to the coast and Malibu hills are spectacular! The rooftop restaurant is great! The Nespresso coffee machines in the rooms are a nice upgrade! Staff are very professional, efficient and friendly! There are bicycles that can be rented for free. We enjoyed our bike ride to the Pier and on the beach! We loved every minute of our stay!
Location is perfect for anyone wanting a Hollywood base for exploring. We opted for a city view room and weren’t disappointed, the view at night and during the day was amazing! Rooms are modern and really clean. Staff were great and we managed to check in earlier than the started time once we’d dropped our bags off. Hotel has great facilities and you can even access the hotel through the Hollywood and Highland shopping area
Hollywood, Los Angeles
An excellent hotel for the digital nomad. The hotel is very clean and quiet, the WiFi is fast and the area seems to be safe and quiet. The location is also quite good; close to Hollywood bulevar and not too far from neither downtown nor the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful and the beds are comfortable, tough a little bit soft. All in all a stunningly good value for the Hollywood area
Downtown LA, Los Angeles
I loved the price! Considering how cheap it is in the CENTER of downtown LA, I really have no complaints. The rooms were clean, I had a nice view, the beds were comfortable and the little lamp in each bunk is great. Everyone gets a little cabinet to put their luggage and stuff in. The staff was very helpful with the super easy self-check in. The little lobby area is very nice as well.
Customer service was excellent and helpful throughout. They always found a solution for everything and even more. Super thanks! The outdoor pool area was beautiful, sunny and good size for swimming. Location is perfect if you are interested in Hollywood attractions, Universal Studios etc. The nearest subway station is also nearby. I can warmly recommend this hotel.
Hollywood, Los Angeles
We liked that everywhere no rug was used (clean). The location directly at Hollywood Blvd and directly opposite the underground railway are a big plus. The breakfast area is more spacious then in the hostel before. The parking lot right behind hostel is relatively cheap (20,- $).
The location is fantastic. The hotel is located in Marina Del Rey (a great area), just a few meters from Venice Beach. This region is very good for strolling, walking along the beach and enjoying the vibe of Los Angeles.
- Clean room with a good view of the airport. - Descent breakfast (the place can be crowded) - The airport shuttle is I think the best way to get to the hotel.
Very courteous staff and the bed was extremely comfortable! Location very convenient if you are going places in downtown Los Angeles or nearby areas.
The location near the airport but far from downtown and the room was clean & spacious. It has a resturant in the lobby of the hotel which great.
I liked the area and valet service. Valet was always quick! Staff was nice! Overall, decent hotel. Literally downtown.
Really nice modern hotel, area itself isn’t amazing but very good transport links to Hollywood and Downtown LA etc
One positive aspect was that the hotel was quite close to the major airports of Los Angeles.
best location to get to the airport. cheapest hotel in the area.
convenient hotel near LAX airport. Holiday standards
One of the best hotels in California! Loved it
best hotel/motel outside downtown LA.
atmosphere and service and room
