Everything I look for in a hotel was done with care and to a high standard. The room was clean, quiet, spacious and well-equipped. And the whole experience was tied together by the friendly care of Troy at the front desk, who took a personal interest in making sure everything worked for us. He was a true host who smoothed the way to a great stay.

From start to finish, the staff were first class all the way and made our stay. They were thoughtful, attentive, and anticipated every possible wish with a smile. We truly could not think of a single thing they could have improved. The hotel is full of charming details and the room is both cosy and luxurious which is a pretty hard feat to pull off.

FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

LA in January is the place to be!

LA in January is the place to be! GREAT weather and a lack of tourists really allowed us to feel like a local and enjoy neighborhood spots on the spur of the moment. We caught a Sunday Farmer's Market off Grand View Blvd., visited the Astra Lumina show at South Coast Botanic Garden, Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. Even the driving was relatively easy! Highly recommend the fresh sushi at Sushi Beluga in Del Rey, and Mexican seafood dishes from Baja Catch and Grill in Culver City. Make a trip to Din Tai Fung in Santa Monica. It's pricey, but worth checking out their lovely restaurant.

I loved Los Angeles for its vibrant energy, iconic landmarks, and rich movie history. Walking through Hollywood, seeing the stars on the Walk of Fame, and feeling the city’s connection to cinema was truly exciting. On top of that, knowing LA hosts the Grammy Awards added an extra layer of glamour and entertainment, making the city feel alive with creativity and culture at every corner.

Los Angeles has a unique energy and vibe.

Los Angeles has a unique energy and vibe. I lived there more than ten years and never got tired of it. I keep visiting it anytime I can or to meet friend and family. It is never the right time to visit L.A. as it's always changing, evolving, renewing. Despite it's not always safe and for sure over expensive, it's the place I love more in the world (and I travel a lot!).

Los angeles is an armpit of a city with far too much congestion, dirty streets, noise, awful drivers, homeless tents. No charm. There are far better beaches and famous cities to visit. Walk of fame is gross and not worth it. Santa monica and promenades riddled with beggars. Feared for my life on sidewalks and roads. The Getty however is worth a visit.

It was exactly as described. It was a decent room with A/C and a big bed. Not really immediately close to places to eat but if you took a short walk you could find In N out or multiple hotels that did have dining. Best thing was that's its super close to the airport. Airplane nose overhead wasn't a bother to me. Great place to kill time or need a cheap room just for one night. Staff was super cool! Travel on!

You would only stay here for universal and it’s a short walk away, so that’s good. I think the extra charges for parking are too much considering the hotel is not cheap. It was clean, that’s all we needed. The area around the hotel is not nice and I wouldn’t walk around there if I had kids with me.

I needed a cheap room close to the airport as a transit night before leaving the country - this hotel did the job pretty well. The room was a bit old and tired but the bed was good, the coffee machine worked and that was all that mattered! The 24-hour shuttle to the airport was a massive winner!
