Pros: Stayed at the Park Plaza Lodge in the Fairfax area. The Grove Shopping and the Farmers Market is walking distance from the hotel. Good place to shop and dine. Two blocks from the hotel is SK Donuts and Croissant for breakfast. Best donuts I've ever had, breakfast sandwiches are amazing, pick up only. Bring to Pan Pacific Park to eat at a bench. The Getty Museum is a must see, parking is $20 and entrance is free. We spent most of the day walking the museum and the grounds. The Griffith Observatory is the other attraction we liked. You can hike the trails around the observatory. The views of the city from both attractions are great. Bring your walking shoes. Cons: traffic, driving in 7 lane freeways is a challenge. give yourself extra time to arrive to your destination. Air pollution, I was disappointed that we did not have a clear blue sky day. Expensive, taxes in California are high. Some places are dirty and not how they make them look on TV.
Lots to see & do with excellent, affordable, well connected public transportation to places of interest. Hollywood & surrounds, Santa Barbra, theme parks, Venice Beach, Marina Del Ray, etc. Airport can be confusing & extremely busy, allow extra time for connections.
We went to LA on a birthday trip for my sister-in-law and spent time at Universal, Disneyland, and spent some time driving around sightseeing. Each area of the city seems to have its own individual identity and is full of character. I will note that the customer service at the restaurants we visited wasn't very good in general - from ordering and receiving drinks/food everything seemed to take an unusually long time compared to what we are used to. Overall though we enjoyed ourselves and would certainly visit more often.
We had a lot of inconvenience because it was legal to use weed and the homeless were too high in some popular locations. There were so many homeless people, especially in the subway, and it was scary. As transportation, it may be better to choose bus or overground options and travel closer to the beach and on the west hollywood side. Universal studios should not be missed. For the food don't miss in n out burger and central market.
We stayed just behind the Dolby Theatre off Hollywood Boulevard. The subway is easy to operate and very cheap. I personally think three days in LA is sufficient to see the main sights (not including Disneyland, which is in Anaheim about 1 hour’s taxi ride, depending on the traffic). Universal studios is a must. The hop on hop off bus is a great way to get an idea of the size and layout of the city. Personally we didn’t have a car and didn’t need one, as we used the subway, bus and one day the hop on hop off bus.
I’m certainly not in Iowa anymore Malibu Sunshine Beach, along with Bigfoot Sport Malibu. I have not experienced too many traffic jams do too the Excellent Los Angeles area Publuc transportation. Another great stay at the LTH. It's heating up, but the ceiling fans are keeping things comfortable And I just realized that there are washers & dryers on site. I normally use expensive fluff and fold when I travel. But I saved some cash and used the washing machines at the hotel. Very convenient. And of course the manager arranged for me to stay in my favorite room. The amazing 1st street vibe coming through my window always puts me in great mood. Many thanks to the hotel and staff for another great stay in the best area downtown.
Neat and clean Rooms feel like five star. Wonderful beds and specially the sheets and pillows better from the Hilton’s two properties in California I stayed during my visit. The staff was really wonderful specially JESSE who helped me during my CHECK INN process. House keeping was excellent during our 7 Days stay they make our room just like for the new check inn guest otherwise many hotels even five star did not change the sheets daily.ABSOLUTELY SPARKLING CLEAN ROOMS AND BATHROOM WITH BEST TOILETRIES.
Downtown LA, Los Angeles
Location was great everything was great. It was in the heart of downtown Los Angeles in a great area. Everything was in walking distance I even took the train to the beach which was only an hour. Also took the same train to downtown Hollywood which will need took 30 minutes! Great safe area in Los Angeles! In walking distance to the staples center... So much to do at night time the nightlife is live! As well is the rooftop pool it gets Poppin on the weekends and is chill and laid-back during the week.
We stayed here for 4 nights before flying back to Germany. The Hotel is located in Gardena, which is not far away from Los Angeles International Airport. There are some shops, restaurants and supermarkets nearby. But if you want to explore Hollywood and other famous areas in LA the hotel is unfortunately too far away, the traffic in LA is very bad. Overall our stay was good, the hotel seems to be very new and the rooms were very nice, clean and comfy.
Very nice and clean hotel in Marina del Rey. We loved our expirience in Los Angeles. The Hotel is located in a quiet area of Los Angeles. We rented a bike to visit the beaches around. It's also a good location to visit other place of interrest in the rest part of this huge Town. The staff was friendly, especially the staff of the Restaurant, where we had breakfast fiev times.
We had an amazing time! Loved everything: cleanliness, reception staff, location, quality of the room and hotel areas. Everything was easy and well organised. You get information where and how to park before you get out of the car. Tea and coffee machine in the room Lovely outdoor area and location is very convenient for sightseeing. It's close to the best spots in the city
Outstanding location right across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. Our room had an excellent view of the theater, Hollywood Hills (including the sign), and of downtown. Common areas of the hotel and classy and comfortable. You feel taken care of. We didn't use the pool (no time), but it is large and inviting.
South Los Angeles, Los Angeles
The rooms are newly renovated (about 7 months at the time of my stay.) Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a room-size refrigerator, and the bed was comfortable. The proximity to USC and downtown was good. Security was at the property. It was so much cheaper here than a hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
I loved the old but well-maintained feel of this hotel. The location is excellent, close to downtown, Universal Studios and walking distance to K-town for so many delicious foods! The staff here are so friendly and do their best to accomodate your needs. I would highly recommend this hotel!
It was cheap compared to other hotels in the area. And did not come with overbearing security protocols because of it (like motel 6, they are the WORST). Being able to escape that trade off made it worth it— WELL, worth it!
Big room. Very quiet and clean. Very good check in and check out time. Great food at club lounge. Always the best place to stay in Los Angeles. Awesome hotel and great service. Very friendly staff.
This hotel was perfectly situated, with a shuttle every 20mn to/from Los Angeles airport. Personnel was very welcoming. It was the perfect spot to start our Californian road trip.
Near LAX airport and there is a shuttle every 30 minutes. It takes only 15 minutes to the airport. There is a big parking lot at the hotel that you use with room keys.
Located in a nice area but DEFINITELY need a car to get around. There’s a car park located beside the hotel that we used and was cheaper!
The hotel was very simple but for the Los Angeles airport area, good for the price when one only needed a room for a night.
best hotel/motel outside downtown LA.
The staffs were all great and friendly! Very accomodating and best location for sightseeing.
