Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.
Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.
And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).
It’s a super cool concept and a hotel ! Loved loved the minimalism and the interiors. You can refill your water bottles ! There are 2 clubs and super cool restaurants on the top floor. I a 100 % recommend!

Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. It was great hiring a car, as it allowed us to cover a lot more ground, from visiting the Hollywood sign in the hills, to visiting Venice beach and Santa Monica beach also. The sightseeing bus tour was good, and if you get a chance check out Waymo, the driverless Uber type car. There is also the Peterson Museum if you are into cars, and great shopping in the Beverly Centre, or Melrose Avenue if you enjoy looking for a bargin.

We stayed in Santa Monica but it has changed a lot since I was last there in 1998. It was not vibrant, it lacked tourists and there a few empty shops along 3rd Street.
It seemed West Hollywood had more excitement and was closer to a lot of things we ended up doing.

There are so many great things to see and do. Hollywood.
There are so many great things to see and do. Hollywood. Hollywood Boulevard and the stars of the stars. Santa Monica, Venice beach . Both great for different reasons. Santa Monica good beach and great Pier. Plenty of good places to eat and drink at reasonable prices. Venice beach, also a good beach, great place to hang out , great shops . Like stepping back in time. With more time I would have hired bikes and surf boards and enjoyed the beachfront more. Should have planned my time better to fit in a baseball game.

I am an art historian, so I visited as many art museums as I could in 6 days. In order of quality and excitement for this nerd:
1. The Getty Center
2. LACMA (L.A. County Museum of Art)
3. The Getty Villa
4. The Huntington Library and Gardens
5. The Norton Simon Museum
6. The Broad Museum
7. The Hammer Museum
8. MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art
9. Museum of Neon Art
10. The Skirball Cultural Center
I visited the powerful Museum of Tolerance as well.

LA has the most amazing friendly people and sunny weather!
LA has the most amazing friendly people and sunny weather! I would highly recommend renting a bicycle and riding through Venice Beach. Universal Studios is also an excellent family activity. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a little overrated and Downtown LA is not safe at night so steer clear if possible. We relied solely on public transport, the trains are easy to navigate but note that they don’t go everywhere so often you need to change to a bus. I would recommend renting a car if you have small children.
Hotel and room are nice, clean and refurbished. Only two toilets and two showers per floor but they are big and were always vacant every time I went and kept clean and replenished.
My room was quite big, queen size bed with big window, fan (very important), sink, soap, a set of towels, wardrobe, table and chair, cups, earplugs, hangers, mirror, fridge and tv.
Cheaper compared to the average in the area (but still a bit expensive for solo traveller for a room with shared bathroom).
Good location in a nice area and next to the bus stop.
Convenience and Accessibility:
The excellent location ensured that you could easily access significant attractions and amenities. Being close to Beverly Hills and LAX means you have the best of both worlds: the glamour and excitement of the city and the convenience of airport access.
Scenic Views:
The balcony view provided a unique and picturesque perspective of Hollywood and downtown, allowing you to enjoy the scenic beauty and iconic landmarks from the comfort of your accommodation.
Nice hotel in a central location near the Grove. The accommodations meets the standards you would except for a hotel at this cost. Friendly staff and happy to keep our bags on day of check out. There is a pool and lounge chairs to relax in the common area. There is also a valet service at the hotel. Would definitely stay again when back in LA and looking to be close to the Grove, Melrose Ave, West Hollywood and the Beverly Centre.
Pretty standard room, but with plenty of space, and large comfortable bed. Get's the job done for an airport hotel, I only wish there were more cheaper options around. Free shuttle showed up right on time in the morning to get me to a very early flight.
Good quality hotel , nice & clean. 1.5 miles from santa monica pier area so need to have car or use Lyft but still cheaper to stay here and pay for taxis than stay nearer pier area. Friendly staff and free basic breakfast. Comfy queen size beds
