The building is stunning! I've passed by this area on multiple ocassions and never knew this was a hotel. The old Hollywood charm is definitely present. As a bonus, it's right across the street from one of LA's best Italian food restaurants (Osteria La Buca) which is what influenced my decision to stay here in the first place.
The room was clean. There were plenty of towels and toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was comfy and clean too.

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.
Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.
And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

Los Angeles is a lovely vibrant place with many facilities, shops, beaches and restaurants. There is so much to do so plan your stay wisely as not to miss anything you want to do. Restaurants galore! A couple of our favourites were in Marina del Ray with lovely views overlooking the marina. Universal studios was a great day but would advise pre buying tickets as you can get good deals as quite pricey on the gate.

The very touristy place of Los Angeles, you got places like Anaheim, Santa Monica, Venice Beach and Palm Springs, the city of Compton and Long Beach and you also have Hollywood and Beverly Hills in this city. The place were all the big movie studios are, you got the Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater, Griffith Observatory. you also have the Santa Monica Pier, Disneyland and Universal Studios in this city. This place is definitely one of the best places to visit in the United States.

I was travelling for business, and I had a few hours each evening to experience LA. Downtown LA is not great, with lots of homeless people and poorly lit streets. The best places are Santa Monica, the Hollywood Hills, and the theme parks. The food is expensive and generally not good - although I found a delightful sushi place which was awesome. The people are friendly and I felt safe in the daytime.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is still my favourite place, with an eclectic mix of friendly extraverts and a huge variety of places to eat, including the Hard Rock Cafe.
I won't stay in DTLA next time; if I had to, I'd stay in one of the 4- or 5-star hotels.
Getting around: By day, the train is good and costs only $1.75 per trip, with a maximum daily charge of $5. Uber at night or when it is too difficult to get to places.
Other fun things - La Brear Tar Pits - great fossil history - dire wolves don't just exist in Game of Thrones; Dodgers Stadium for a baseball match; a sunset cruise at Marina Del Rey - see the sealions and lots of weird houseboats.
One thing to love about LA is that a cocktail is cheaper in some establishments than a cup of tea!

Wow, where do I start?
Wow, where do I start? Probably the most unsafe I have ever felt going to another place in my life. Was expecting a bit more glitz and glam, was met with people shooting up in the street. Locals seem to love the place, but if you like dirty horrible cities where you feel scared for your life then you’ll love L.A.
only plus point is the food. The people are kinda rude.

LA is too big and unless you hire a car it's very expensive to travel around to see the different areas. Uber/Lyft prices seem to be inflated in LA. There are a few nice areas, like Venice Beach, El Segundo, Manhatten Beach, Hollywood Bowl and the Griffiths Observatory. But all these are so spread out you need to take a lot of time travelling in between them

The hotel suite was excellent for a wonderful romantic weekend with my significant other. The hotel employees were so helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean the room was perfect. I recommend this hotel for anyone to stay for the weekend to enjoy. It is close to the beaches, and shopping, and our favorite spot was visiting Rodeo Drive. It was easy getting around Los Angeles.
The food was absolutely delicious. Amazing bar, breakfast, lunch, etc. The pool area is so calm and relaxed it makes you never want to leave the hotel!!! The staff was so lovely, from the breakfast guy, Shane, to the lunch waitress, we had the best time just relaxing and didn't want to go anywhere else. We were there for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and it's totally walkable! The room was so great, comfortable beds, amazing shower, just perfect.
Nice hotel in a central location near the Grove. The accommodations meets the standards you would except for a hotel at this cost. Friendly staff and happy to keep our bags on day of check out. There is a pool and lounge chairs to relax in the common area. There is also a valet service at the hotel. Would definitely stay again when back in LA and looking to be close to the Grove, Melrose Ave, West Hollywood and the Beverly Centre.
This place is okay if you only want to sleep there. It was clean and the bed was alright.
We loved the location. Literally 3 minutes walk to the metro station. Hollywood Walk of Fame is only 1 stop away. It was really quick to get to Downtown too. We walked to Griffiths Observatory and that was only 45 min of a lovely scenic hike.
The area around the hotel felt safe.
It seemed to be one of the cheapest hotels we could find (obviously without staying in an absolute dive). The location isn't too bad in terms of visiting Hollywood, although we did have a car which made traveling around easier. The fact it had parking was a plus.
I liked how close it was to the Convention Center, Crypto Arena and Downtown Los Angeles, other than that it was alright, i enjoyed the views from the rooftop of AC Hotel and the views from the window of my room was also great.
