Seward is a nice small town. We went during the off season. a lot of things where closed or had limited hours during our trip. We missed out on a few items we would have liked to check out but there was still plenty to do in the area. Recommend a wildlife boat tour, we had a blast and still saw a lot of wildlife so early in the year. The Alaska Sea Life Center is a must see any time.

Hotel was well situated in a retail area with many options for food, ice cream, coffee and and drinks. The views of the harbor and access to it were great and right out the back door. The complimentary breakfast was good with both hot and cold items.

Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage, so it took way longer than we had anticipated. It was a cute town and we enjoyed our 8.5 hour glacier cruise. I would definitely take a shorter cruise. Fox Island was a great part of our cruise.

Seward is a charming waterfront town with plenty of good restaurants and things to do. We took two incredible boat tours with Kenai Ford Tours; they were fabulous. There is plenty of hiking, and the city is nestled between mountains. Seward is the kind of place you hate to leave.

Highly recommend coming to take a glacier tour, whale watch, hike or to take children to the aquatic life center. Nice, locally owned galleries and shops with friendly keepers. Easy to get around and can access local parks and walking trails with close by parking.

It is obviously a tourist town with the 'big' thing being the boat tours with the Sea Life center being second, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't take back what I saw on my day cruise (Humpbacks, Orcas, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Seals, Holgate Glacier, etc) or at the Sea Life Center for anything (They have touch tanks that are awesome for kids or adults). The restaurants and outside food vendors had delicious food. We were only there for 3 days, but that seemed like the perfect amount of time to be there for anyone that is not going to be doing the more active nature hiking/climbing.
This place was such a wonderful surprise!! It is an older hotel, but it is literally one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I even mentioned that to the front desk and they said that the manager of housekeeping makes sure to go through each room multiple times with her staff to ensure cleanliness…amazing!! Also, the staff couldn’t be friendlier. I felt so welcome. The breakfast was fantastic and so was the coffee. The area we ate breakfast in was so roomy and clean. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Seward!!!
When I first walked up I thought it was a set for Schitt’s Creek. Clean on the outside, rooms had mixed matched furniture, nothing fancy … but clean. Only had two staff members, but they did their very best to make sure everybody was taken care of. Manager is a super hard worker. She tried to take time to talk to as many of the guest as possible. Not my typical type of place to stay, but it did the trick. In Seward it shouldn’t be about that hotel or motel it’s about the great outdoors.
Harborview Inn is an excellent alternative to the over-priced hotels in Seward. The room is super clean, cozy, with a nice view of the mountains, and has very strong wi-fi. Excellent localization, short distance to the harbour and to downtown, and there’s a shuttle stop just the other side of the street. The manager ( Mary) is a kind person, and tries to do her best for you. I’d certainly recomnend the Harborview Inn to anyone.
We needed a place to stay in Seward that didn't completely break the bank although it is very expensive for the room. I know it's the going rate for the area, but still -- ouch! Checkin/out was painless and the location was fine. The room was very clean despite the building is older. It was just a one night place to crash and met our basic needs. Nice sitting areas outside the front of the hotel to enjoy a morning coffee.
Old town Seward and the Aquatic Life Center is only two blocks away. The owners have been renovating the hotel and are doing a great job! The kitchen was awesome too have especially since many v restaurants in the main part of Seward are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The owner, Pete, gave us a ride from the bus area and was very helpful throughout our stay. The beds are comfy and the accommodations were spacious!
We stayed at the Spruce Lodge for a few nights while visiting Seward. It was a very clean, updated hotel that had everything we needed. Nice little kitchenette and bathroom with a comfortable bed and mini sofa for a sitting area. The location was easy to get to and in a quiet part of town yet still close to attractions and great hikes! Highly recommend a stay here.
We were very impressed with this hotel. Very clean, comfortable and in the perfect location in Seward. Within walking distance of everything. Breakfast options were great and the staff were very helpful. They took our luggage to the cruise ship terminal for us which was a huge bonus. Would highly recommend staying here.
Convenient for the whale watching that we do in Seward. Hotel parking is readily available. For one night the room is great for two of us. Gas station is very close by. Although breakfast is not part of room cost, there is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. We've stayed here many times!
The position is just out of Seward's business centre. The hotel is an interesting old place, with plenty of character.
I also liked that the room had a large bench, at a good height where I could put my suitcase, and easily unpack, and pack.
The staff was friendly. Paul picked up our luggage in the cargo van and brought it to our rooms. The hotel has a lot of character and a reputation for being haunted! Great location for restaurants and shops in the Town of Seward!
Everyone that worked there were so kind and helpful, they really make you feel welcome. great cup of coffee every morning! Location was close to Exit glacier as well as Seward itself while still being off the main road.
The room was comfortable, breakfast was yummy. The view from the front and back of the hotel is great! They have a gym in town that hotel guests can use. The hotel was quiet and the staff was friendly.
The hotel was in a great location - close to all Seward has to offer! The staff was incredibly friendly, and though we had a shared restroom, there was never a wait. Would recommend!
