Offering stunning views of Mt. Edgecumbe and the surrounding waters, the Longliner Lodge and Suites offers lodge accommodations and fishing charter packages in Sitka, Alaska. I loved the fact that even though I had to fly in on a late flight (11:30p.m.) I still was offered a shuttle to their property. “Ferrdy” (probably jacking up the spelling) showed up and was super respectful, drove me to the accommodations and ensured I made my way to the room. When I casually mentioned I was meeting friends for breakfast, I was asked when it was occurring. Ferrdy offered transportation to such without prompting and was there PRECISELY when he said he would be. Funny enough, he seemed outright offended I didn’t call him for a ride when I arrived back at their property via foot. The rooms were spacious, clean and very well stocked with all the amenities of other hotels. Is it off the “beaten path?” Yes. Was it worth every penny? Absolutely! The rooms were quiet and I didn’t hear a peep throughout my stay. These folks know how to look after a customer and I have been recommending this place to anyone that will listen. Top quality accommodations (the view, forgot to mention that! Right on the water!) along with a personalized customer service that I can say has literally been unmatched; you’d be a fool not to stay at this place! I was there for business, but now I really want to return with my wife for a visit.

Anchorage is a great destination and jumping off point for amazing Alaska adventures!
Anchorage/Alaska is a great place to visit, but you need a car in order to get out of town and really see what it offers. If you stay just in the city you will miss the most INCREDIBLE sites. You have to travel a bit. You should plan to come in middle of June to end of July to miss some of the rain.
We can’t say enough on what a wonderful experience the Natural History bus tour into the park was to take. We saw all of Mt. Denali (no clouds obstructing the view), moose, a grizzly bear, caribou, hares and Alaskan ground squirrels. The scenery was spectacular. The free dog sledding demonstration was really fun as well.
If you book a park trip that gets back after 6pm beware!!! The bus company dropped us at the bus depot at 10pm. The shuttle stops running at 6pm. We asked the driver for a lift, he said no. We had to stand around, outside, in the woods in Alaska, for one hour until our hotel finally picked us up. Make sure the bus takes you back to your hotel or to a shuttle stop that still has busses running!!!!
Like nowhere else on earth, unique area of nature and history. Very scenic and great base for nature tours. The real Alaska. Historic Hotel Seward a must.
Homer is an amazing location to take in the immense beauty of Alaska. As spring begins, it would be best to plan excursions before arriving there. There is a water taxi to Halibut Cove which operates with a restaurant in Halibut Cove. We were unable to go as the reservations were full for the day we had available. In addition, popular restaurants also can be unavailable without reservations made in advance.
Anchorage is a great place to start boat or train or other explorations of Alaska. Cruise terminal short bus ride (Whittier) and trains and buses to Denali. Lots of boat tours in Whittier too. Great hikes not far put of town also.
Healy Alaska is a small town about 10 miles north of Denali National Park. It is a small year round town with many seasonal residents. There are several small restaurants. 49th State Brewery is fun and excellent. Redbeards’ Barbecue and gas station- good food and great folks!
My 5th time staying in Seward. I love this place! Great food, happy people and fun adventures. Alaska “Point of View” is my favorite place to stay. Ray’s is the best restaurant. Kenai Fjords Tours has the best day cruises.
Lots of restaurants and shopping compared to home in Fairbanks. Visited the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center just south of Girdwood. Excellent for all ages. Alaska Wild Scoops has great ice cream.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The owners were so friendly and wanting to do everything they could to help us make the trip memorable. They cook an amazing breakfast free of charge every morning (with the price of food in Alaska this was a huge bonus!). The location is about a mile from downtown, but is very close to hiking trails and is right on the bay. We would not have traded it for a downtown hotel at all! Some of our best pictures of the trip were taken right outside the hotel on the beautiful beach.

We love this motel. We have stayed here 4 times. The last time they upgraded us to a suite ( it was like a one bedroom apartment). Very large!o. We love that the motel is so near the airport plus Lake Hood. We love watching the airplanes. The staff is very friendly and they offer a very nice breakfast. So many motels in Alaska didn't include breakfast. Also walk two blocks down the street to Gwinnies restaurant. We loved the food we ordered..

It's not the typical hostel. It is a great place, very comfortable, staff is great. They really care for guests, they want you to enjoy your stay with them and not just your money. John, the owner, usually helps guests by giving rides to downtown or other places, for instance one day he took a group of guests to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. That was so nice of him.

Tammie has kept the property in perfect condition. The manor is elaborated-designed, well-decorated and sanitized everyday. Unlike most of hotels, this moose manor presents us a better view of how Alaskan lives. I have a lot of interesting talks with Tammie and other guests there. The breakfast Tammie cooks is also a plus. The stay at moose manor was perfect.

The restaurant next store served an excellent dinner, but no breakfast or lunch. The hotel served toast, coffee and yogurt, but not even a continental breakfast. The hotel and restaurant were a fun place to visit and the staff very friendly. The restaurant prices were very reasonable for Alaska. Would love to return to that rustic place.

I was unimpressed with the young, indifferent staff. But every hotel in the Anchorage area seems to hire from a very small pool of college students who do not have a clue about customer service. Perhaps the new owners will improve this aspect of an otherwise world-class hotel. I’m not Alaskan but I live in Alaska.

The location was perfect. We came into Anchorage from Seward on the Alaska Train. The hotel was less than a block away from the Anchorage train station. We left on the train for Denali 2 days later but came back to the hotel on out last day before flying home from the Anchorage airport.

Good location right in downtown Anchorage, 10 minutes from Ted Steven's International Airport, close to bars and restaurants as well as a park. Not the fanciest hotel but the staff was kind and the rooms were very large, great for overnight stop before our Alaska cruise.

The hotel is just on the edge of the city but still in walking distance of everything. It is great value for money compared with the two other major hotels. Staff were very helpful and I really loved the lobby and bar area - you felt as though you were in Alaska.

The Alaska resident rate is what brings me back here. On this trip there was a weather related issue requiring us to Drive to Anchorage and not use our commuter ticket. The hotel allowed us to park free until our return. WHAT GREAT SERVICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.

This hotel is so "Alaskan". I enjoyed just walking around the lobby taking in the culture and decor. The sunset view over the lake in the back was magnificent. A little local restaurant just down the road had great food and value.

The location of this hotel is a good place to stay before you fly out. It is close to the Airport and right next to Alaska Park where you can leave your car. The Staff are top notch. The attached restaurant and lounge are very convenient.

Very close to the Alaska SeaLife Center and the small downtown area, but somewhat removed from the small ship harbor and cruise ship harbor. However, there was a free shuttle that had a stop near the hotel to travel to these places.

Staff so nice and very professional. Great food. Love the look and decor of hotel. Definitely not a cookie cutter hotel. Very unique and reflects that uniqueness of Alaska Great views and great location

Family owned economy hotel: could not be more helpful, accomodating and friendly. Not your everyday hotel chain. Quiet, older, Alaskan. Can walk to stores. I visit Fairbanks every summer and always stay here.

This was a new, modern Hotel. The shower was the most luxurious hotel shower I had seen. Comfy, large rooms were among the best we have stayed in on our track across Alaska.

The checkin was fast, efficient and friendly, we were catching the cruise tour and they were organised for this quick change over from the train from Anchorage. The room was the forest side it had recently been refurbished and was clean, tasteful and the bed was very comfy with quality linen. It was quiet and had an opening window onto the road but this was quiet by the time we went to sleep. There was a very nice card left by the staff for our 30th anniversary which was very thoughtful. I loved the position being close to the action and although we didn’t have a great meal in Seward this was because we were too tired to go into town. Breakfast was great and had everything we needed we would have loved a similar simple set up for dinner even.
