This was a wonderful location to get to all of the Folk Festival activities. We enjoyed the kitchen and the proximity to Food Land. It was quiet and peaceful, as well. Since we didn't rent a car, the shuttle was an added bonus. :)

Really nice upgrades. And the staff was really good. We do not like the outside color. And of course the weight room was not open as yet. But we'll be back.

The location is excellent for visiting downtown Juneau. Walking distance to all downtown locations. The food at TK Maguire’s is excellent. Staff at both are very friendly. They loved our dog and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

First time visiting Juneau, our goal was to explore the city. This location was perfect to walk over to the capitol, the historic district, the piers, and lots of great eatery options. We were able to park our rental car on site for travel over to EagleCrest & some local hikes too. More than anything we appreciated the caretakers (Bing & Elizabeth) who made the experience very enjoyable. The daily breakfasts included are a delicious healthy treat to start each day….and a great way to meet other guests. Elizabeth & Bing’s experiences are amazing to hear about…and the homemade cookies and well stocked tea & coffee bar were always greatly appreciated. The B&B was the best lodging option we could have chosen. Highly recommend!

We had one night in Juneau prior to boarding our cruise.

We had one night in Juneau prior to boarding our cruise. From our hotel, we took a cab up to Mendenhall Glacier and spent the day hiking. It was a great way to get outdoors and get acquainted with Alaska.

We have to be there for work from time to time, and had a permanent internet cafe/calling station, and some payphones around up til 2012. We have several friends in Juneau, like the Sand Bar for halibut, and Asian Gardens for Chinese. We use Costco when we can; but in general just feel that there is an arrogance that goes with state capitols that one feels. We can feel it especially with the coaches of sports teams.

I travelled here for work and trying my hardest to make a long story short, Juneau is the most incredible place I’ve visited outside of the lower 48. The local and surrounding people, restaurants, nightlife, nature, wildlife, history; everything about the Juneau experience was just breathtaking and eye-opening to how underrated this area is. However, if you are spending more than a “tourist’s time” from Spring to Fall here (~a week +), BEWARE OF THE BOATS! The amount of cruise ship people exponentially exceeds as you get further into late Spring, and the locals WILL warn you; listen to them. Of course tourism is superb for the local economy and, but even being early in early in the season ourselves, these people come in DROVES. I recommend trekking around the channel (or working) throughout the day, and enjoying the nightlife with the locals (because they are all stupendous). Obviously you will HAVE to roam around the downtown restaurants, history and nature walks, and support the local shops, but from Douglas to the valley, to Auke bay and all the way to Point Bridget are countless attractions that the boat people only get ~8 hours to experience, while you’ll have the peace and time to spend loving the state’s capital region almost as much as I have.

Juneau is a capital city so it has cultural facilities, tasty food options and lots of concerts, plus as it is an outdoor-lover’s dream destination. From the city bus, you can find a Native Alaskan culture museum, cozy bookstores and coffee shops, botanical gardens, a fish hatchery, trails along the ocean, trails through the rainforest, with trails with views of glaciers. With a short float plane ride to a state park, you can watch brown bears in their natural habitat.

I was in Juneau for just 2 nights. I caught the Alaska state ferry from Juneau to Bellingham. I think the area has some great hiking trails when the weather is decent. I hiked the Perseverence Trail, which I liked very much.

Juneau has stunning scenery as expected.

Juneau has stunning scenery as expected. Try to visit during the Cruise Ship season but try not to visit Downtown when multiple ships are in port as the attractions are all booked up. Hiring a car is recommended to get around and see the site.

The apartment is located in a quiet and beautiful wooded area that is close downtown Juneau, the Mendenhall Glacier, and many of the surrounding sites. The apartment was well appointed, clean, and had a wonderful deck and a couple of nice outdoor seating areas which included a fire pit. The hosts were lovely and were always there if you needed anything. We hope to return in the future.

Very helpful front desk staff, in particular Kody, and hotel shuttle for airport much appreciated. The hotel and room provided everything we needed, and the suite was comfortable and spacious. Close to airport and using a rental car to get into town, the location was convenient for our purposes.
