Juneau is a very unique place not only because of the Gold rush history, but because it's also the state capitol, so there's a lot to see and do! There's hiking, biking, kayaking, whale watching, a tram that takes you up Mt. Roberts, city tours and MENDENHALL Glacier!! SPECTACULAR! Both sea plane and helicopters going to the top. Juneau is a seafood lovers dream!! Fresh king crab, halibut, you name it... Yum! The city is clean and mostly flat. The sidewalks are even and easy to walk on. The air is fresh and the people are nice. There were 5 cruise ships docked in the harbor! I can't wait to go back!

Juneau is a beautiful town/city with culture from the Native Alaskans, Hiking trails, whale tours, glaciers, and more bald eagles around that you can imagine. The weather may be cloudy but the locals are welcoming and sunny.

I enjoy going to Juneau. I'm a sucker for souvenir shops. I just love them. My husband doesn't get it but I just have to go in them! I have never spent more than 2 nights in Juneau,, waiting for the ferry. The Glacier is nice. I haven't really done much in Juneau other than shopping and the Glacier.

I booked this hotel as a one-night stop over because it was near the airport, and though I arrived very late, the shuttle was waiting for me. It hotel was expensive but it was also peak season. I hired a taxi to take me the four miles to the glacier the next morning since I had some spare time before my plane departed. That was a very worthwhile trip. Got in a great hike and took some beautiful photos.

    Friendly people.

Friendly people. You can go up the tram more than once on the same day. Bus service. Food is good. Tour to glacier was interesting but expected to be able to take any bus back. I didn't walk to the falls as I would have been rushed to much as was told the walk is a mile there. But, we had to get back to catch the same bus.

I wasn't prepared for five cruise ships and all those people...

I wasn't prepared for five cruise ships and all those people in a small town. It was wall to wall people, and it was hard to get into the restaurants and stores. And you really couldn't wait until they got back on the ships since everything closed at 8:00pm. The whale watching was spectacular, so I would definitely come back because of that, but I would stay farther from town and rent a car next time. We weren't able to go to Mendenhall Glacier since they ran out of passes, so you could only get as close as 2 miles if you were using public transportation. That is another reason for renting a car since they don't need a pass. Folks aren't really friendly in Juneau, their attitude is if you don't like it, go somewhere else, since they know you can't due to being landlocked.

First bad impressions last. We emailed arrival info and asked for hotel's courtesy shuttle but it didn't come. Gentleman at check in didn't know or care, and couldn't help when our room phone did not work. Despite booking 5 months ago, the gentleman gave us two rooms twenty meters apart. No towels in one. Suites are advertised as fully equipped but no wine glasses, 2 plates for two people etc. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and women receptionists were helpful. Disappointing location.

This is a gem of a hotel, very handily placed for the centre of Juneau and all the main coach trips, tram to Mt Roberts, etc. The free hotel shuttle is great, I didn't arrive until nearly midnight, no problem the van was there to meet me and the driver made sure I was checked into my room. would have no hesitation in recommending.
