The castle was lovely and the heritage center was a lot of fun and very informative, there are some lovely restaurants, we ate in the old barracks food was delicious and we got some lovely cakes to take away. The staff in all areas of the hotel were exceptional, warm and friendly, helpful and efficient. Best hotel experience we've had in a long time and we are avid travellers. The hotel was immaculate, modern with a warm welcoming feel. Food was excellent. We had a nice time here . The heritage centre is worth a visit. For 5 euro you get to go on a tour and learn lots of the history of Athenry in a fun and interesting way ,you get to wear costumes and you get to do archery and a maze. Such a lovely experience. There's also a castle and an Abbey to visit . Great playground for children. The food in the restaurants and pubs was just gorgeous. The people were friendly and nice. Definitely will return again.

Athenry has some lovely shops its a lovely place just to ramble around, locals very friendly. Its a historic town with places to visit like OUR LADYS well and other attractions. Athenry was a wonderful little town to visit. Great to get a feel for authentic, non-touristic Irish culture. The town boasts a castle, a friary ruin, an old stone gate, so many gems to visit! Then the nightlife was very fun. Great pubs and music made for one our favorite stops during our 10 day trip to IrelandSuzanneUnited States of America
