The suite has everything you need, great area! Very comfortable spot, like you’re home!! but it can get loud after midnight with traveling tourists next door. (Not long but sleep can be disrupted)

Easy to walk from Old Town to New Town (30 min) There are city buses but I have no experience
Many lakes to walk on, Ice cave to visit.
Prince of Wales Regional Museum worth a trip - much to see
Plan for Snowking Festival in March
Avoid Northern Light Tour company
Surprisingly, the grocery stores offered the same prices as Vancouver, and the restaurants weren't much more expensive than home.

Yellowknife is a remote location.
Yellowknife is a remote location. So you expect expensive food and accommodation, but we were disappointed to find lack-luster service. If you are looking for reasonably nice accommodations, expect to pay north of $300per night. Booking anything cheaper will disappoint.
The scenery, of course is one of a kind amazing! Just don't get your expectations too high when it comes to service.

We stayed at Yellowknife B&B and used Aurora Village for our tours. We highly recommend both of these to anyone traveling here!!
We cooked our meals (saved a ton of time and money) and had 1 stop shopping with our tours. This was a trip of a lifetime and we enjoyed every minute!

It’s so beautiful. Everyone is nice and friendly.
It’s so beautiful. Everyone is nice and friendly. We highly recommend the Bullock bistro. Food is so yummy. We also join the Artic Tour Canada for aurora hunting. The tour guid is professional and we really saw the aurora.
The check in staff is so rude. I and my two kids booked this hotel. The check in staff gave us a room on ground floor and said to me “you can do anything, include sex”. What?! A fat woman is so disgusting! I don’t why she said that to me and I felt offensive. The room is so smelly. So I requested to change another room. The hallway was constructed and so much dust. I was uncomfortable with that. The good thing was we only booked one night in this hotel and booked two other nights in another hotel.
We went to Yellowknife to see the Aurora Borealis and ohhh boy, Mabuhay Lakeside Manor has the best location ever! The Borealis was visible from our window. Saving us time and money as we didn’t need to pay for a tour guide to look for the Borealis. Not to mention that the property, which is just a 10-minute walk away from the city center, it also has the best host/owner. Ms. Delilah served us delicious breakfasts during our stay and went out of her way to make our visit truly exceptional.
Rosa, our host, was a true delight. She looked after our needs beautifully. The kitchen was full of goodies, the home toasty warm, the lounge was perfect for relaxing, the location easy to walk to places or catch one of the reliable taxis. We throughly enjoyed hearing her stories of the past and the present Yellowknife, to sharing her own life journey. There was no request too big, she offered much help when hubby was sick. A very peaceful and relaxing stay.
It’s a rough hotel in a rough neighbourhood. It was cheap and central so I stayed there but likely won’t again as I’d rather pay the extra money for a better hotel. Staff was nice but comforter was stained with cigarette burns, overall it was not very clean, very dated and beaten up decor, but kinda worth staying once to remind me that sometimes the cheapest option is not the best option.
What a lovely place! First, John was very helpful and responsive when I had a couple of questions. The place itself is quiet and comfortable. And the view...wow. It was so nice to walk outside my room, take my coffee and sit on the dock first thing in the morning. I'll be travelling to Yellowknife often for business and I will look here first from now on!
Location of hotel is excellent especially for walking around Yellowknife. It is reportedly the best hotel in town and I would probably agree. Rooms were fine. We stayed two separate times. Room was better the first time and I would like to thank them for giving us the water view. Very friendly waitress in restaurant and also in the bar.
The best thing about this hotel was the front desk staff Tristan and the downtown location of the property. The price was far less than the other hotels but it becomes very apparent why that is the case once the security staff comes on and it seems to be a war-zone. The breakfast was passable and the breakfast staff was friendly.
The shower in the bathroom was absolutely amazing! It was like taking a shower in the rainforest, even though we were there in freezing weather.
The location was also perfect! It was secluded and private and close to a walking trail, but also easy to get to the restaurants of downtown.
it's an older house, but Jenny puts a lot of effort into making sure the place is clean and well maintained. The location is good, very short walk to main shops etc. It's not a high end hotel, but it's clean and and the owner is helpful.
Nothing, I lived in Yellowknife, NT for seven years and always felt this was a good location to stay at. I was completely wrong & surprised as the building's exterior/interior's condition was filthy.
Beyond the cleanliness and the availability of the facilities, Jenny and the home caretaker provided me the best service by booking last minute tours for me.
