We really enjoyed the horse and buggy ride around Banff. We also had a great time cruising lake Minnewanka, and the gondola trip up Sulphur mountain. The centre of town was cordoned off with no cars allowed which made getting around (to restaurants) much easier. Good places to eat , grizzlys and the keg.
Spectacular spot in the Rocky Mountains. Brilliant and majestic beauty & wilderness; a true representation of nature. The town itself offers countless shops, amenities and beautiful restaurants - some of the best meals I have ever had, with access to ALL kinds of food. Best escape is to have your own vehicle/rental to get off the beaten path of the numerous tourists & buses. Some patience is required with inconsiderate tourists, and innumerable idiots who drive poorly or think it is appropriate to approach dangerous wildlife with a tablet.
Banff this year was not as packed as usual, but still a lot of people. Lots of detours to prevent driving down the main streets. Some attractions closed due to COVID. They have a new bus service, which I didn't use, but its great they have the service to be able to explore Banff, at a reasonable rate, without having to drive!
Getting around Banff is very easy. It is a walking town with lots to see, great places to eat and little retail gems down the side streets. There are great hiking trails all around Banff from easy to difficult. The ski resorts near Banff are a must for any avid skier or snowboarder. This is a family friendly place.
Walked around lots shopped and drove around some . Enjoyed coffee in morning outside looking at the mountains . Used public transit when got tired easy to use and comes just often a nuff. We enjoyed or trip very much cant wait do it again .
Banff is a beautiful mountain town. Lots of great shops, restaurants and trails. Favourite restaurants were the Balkan, the Eddie, Tooloulou’s for breakfast, and Block. We had a great experience renting ski gear at Ultimate on Banff Ave. High quality skis at a better rate than renting at any of the resorts. Lake Louise is stunning to ski or even just go to the top on the gondola. A true Canadian gem. This place is breathtaking.
Beautiful hotel. Only drawback is the location little too far from downtown Banff and traffic got real bad every afternoon because only one bridge to cross veh to downtown for Rimrock and Fairmont. But we used busing to get downtown most days. Banff is one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Loved our visits to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake(spectacular) but unfortunately too crowded during holiday weekend.
Banff
We had to leave very early on our third day to drive all the way to Vancouver. The hosts were extremely helpful, they prepared a light breakfast for us the evening before and gave us some sandwiches and muesli bars to have on the way. Also the full cooked breakfast before was really awesome. And they know a lot about the area, making our stay in Banff the best part of our journey through Canada.
Amazing location right in downtown Banff. Awesome rooftop hot tub and lounge. Really nice room decor and very clean. Also, the staff went above and beyond to help me find my cell phone (it was in the pocket of my robe while i was in the hot tub and another guest accidentally took my robe instead of his) but within an hour the hotel staff had found it!!
It was perfect for what we were looking for. Located on Banff Avenue around a 10-15 minute walk to the main downtown area. Free parking which is great, I am not sure if this is the same in summer. Free shuttle stops outside a few times a day to take you to lake Louise ski resort. Rooms were comfortable & you can control the heat.
Great location in downtown Banff. Spacious rooms with really comfortable beds. Housekeeping staff did a really wonderful job in the daily cleaning of the rooms. Front desk staff gave us really good recommendations on places to visit during our stay. Highly recommended hotel to stay at. Double thumbs up!!
Fantastic hotel, the location in downtown Banff was great and very close to ski shuttle pick up, rooftop spa was amazing, we had a very comfortable suite with nice bed and pillows, staff were all friendly, coffee shop across the road was also very good, free parking and ski storage was also a plus.
Hotel is on Banff Ave and only a short walk to shops and restaurants. The guy who did the breakfast was the best of anywhere we have ever stay and we have stayed all over. The food quality for breakfast was great and his friends demeanor was exceptional. Don’t lose this guy. Bonus him!
I loved Everything about this hotel. The staff were friendly, it was right in downtown Banff. After reading some reviews I was a little sceptical but we walked into our room and it was so clean, the beds were comfy and I was very happy! For $100/night it really can’t be beat.
Location, Location, Location. Restaurant adjoins the hotel is a great spot for breakfast and ranges from $5 to $15. Staff were great. Pet friendly also is a bonus as most are not in the Banff downtown area. Breakfast Food in the restaurant was great for the price.
2 bedroom and 2 washroom, with large living room and full set kitchen. This hotel is suitable for family and friends travel together. About 10 mins drive from center of Banff. Resort have free shuttle bus.
Banff
- at least clean sheets and towel. - cheap - complementary bus passes within banff ( bus to lake louise not included) - lovely winter view of the room window
Great location; short walk to “downtown” Banff where most of the shops and restaurants are. Hotel was clean and quiet. Outdoor hot tub was great.
Great location, close enough to main attractions: Lake Louise, Banff, Yoho, etc., but secluded enough to escape the visitors. Great hiking trails!!
The hotel is well located in Banff and the room was clean and comfortable.
Magnificent views of snow-capped mountains. A bistro on the premises if you didn't want to go into Banff town centre. About 20mins walk to town or free shuttle bus takes you in and back certain times of the day.
Concierge was on point. Pool and tub soooo good!!!! Location was perfect.
