Our trip to Banff was for snowboarding over the Christmas period. We visited the Big3 mountains, Sunshine being our favourite. Norquay had a lovely family atmosphere but wasn't for us due to being beginners, we found the slopes a bit too steep. ! Downtown Banff was fabulous, all the restaurants were of good standard and fairly priced. We visited Earls Kitchen on our last night which was excellent, pity we found it so late on in our trip. We hired a 4x4 from the airport. It was simple enough driving to Banff. Banff its self had plenty of parking and was easy to get around. We weren't told to buy a Banff National Park pass, we soon realised we needed one so bought it from the Tourist Information Centre. If you don't get one you will receive a fine!!!! This was our third trip to Banff and certainly wont be our last! :)
Our daughter had been in Banff for 9 months prior to our trip, so we had our own tour guide. We did so many trips around the local area, did Dog Sledding out of Canmore, Skiing, and a beautiful White Christmas. The scenery every which way you look is spectacular!! There are so many nice places to eat, Pizza at the Bear Street Tavern, Steaks at the Keg, and all an easy walk from the Caribou Lodge. We had a bus pass that gave us free travel locally around Banff which was great. We had an extremely enjoyable stay in Banff and can't wait to get back.
We stayed in Banff for 10 days over Christmas and loved it. The scenary was amazing and the town so pretty with the Christmas lights . Over winter it is best to stay in main street and be near the shops and restaurants. Its too cold to walk otherwise! Also good to be close to ski village bus stops if you are skiing. We also preferred to stay in hotel with breakfast included as this saves having to get all the warm clothes on in the morning and walk down the street. .
it had been awhile since I had been to Banff and being able tot go to favorite locations was one of my hopes. I enjoyed my favorite kalamari place Athens on the main street still delicious. Got in some shopping, touring the different gift shops buying my birthstone from Rocks & Gems. After my dinner I went over to Nakoda Casino just past Canmore and enjoyed a couple hours in the atmosphere their friendly staff had going. Thanks for the short trip I enjoyed it all.
We really enjoyed the Banff hotsprings and Lake Louise! The drive up to Johnson Canyon was absolutely stunning in the winter! Banff has a relatively small downtown area so it's best to park in one of the lots and then walk from there. The best pizza we've had in a while we got from the hole in the wall restaurant next to "A Liquor Store".
Going during the week is a bonus,no large crowds, low traffic, town shuttle was quick and convenient! Ate at Banff Brewing Company ,meal was OK,best for just a snack and beer, not great for vegetarian options or a proper meal. Keg breakfast was great!!
Our entire experience was absolutely wonderful. Albert and Esther were both amazing and went above and beyond for us. Due to the short notice of our trip to Banff I had forgotten to make note that this was for our Anniversary, or that my partner was a celiac. To both of our surprises, Albert was happy to help out and change our breakfast into a gluten-free haven for my partner. With how close this location is to downtown it is more than easy enough to make your way down for a beautiful night in town, or stay in and enjoy some very interesting conversation with the guests and your hosts. Albert and Esther are two people that I would just love to sit down for hours on end and get to know. Unfortunately for us we only booked the one night, and had a number of things to do so we didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked. We have made a vow though to come back next year on our anniversary and spend more time with Esther and Albert in this absolutely wonderful B&B! I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for an intimate experience with knowledgable hosts and a great location. :)
Banff
Gorgeous place to stay, we booked the queen room for 2 nights and it had the most beautiful view of the lake. The dining area and kitchen were so nice and cozy for our winter trip and the staff could not have been more helpful. It made our stay in banff extra special also perfect location only a 2 min walk to the village centre.
Amazing breakfast, chill and comfy atmosphere, great proximity to downtown Banff and the ski shuttle pickup parking lot, kind hosts and cute little rooms in a historical home (quote old but well-maintained). I highly recommend this place for young traveling couples, especially if you are in Banff to ski!
The room was clean, shower was very nice, bed was super comfy. The staff were really nice and helpful. Great price for the room. It is very thought for the hotel to have a car wash bay for free for the customers. Hotel is a great location and in walking distance of the main street.
I loved our room it was so big! We also got lots of towels and had a coffee machine, fridge, and microwave! The hotel is on the quiet end of town which was good and the underground parking was handy. The staff was helpful and the free bike rental and bear spray was a great touch.
Bow View Lodge is a great place to stay in Banff. It’s close to restaurants and the main area of Banff, you can easily walk to the shops. It is not fancy, but clean well run. There is secure underground parking available in their partner hotel next door. It is on The Bow River.
Friendly staff, our room was ready earlier which was great because we stayed with a 6 month baby. Very clean 👌 we did mention to a staff member that the sheets were very "staticy" we could see sparks in the dark I even zapped my baby, never experienced it that much 🙈
I booked this for my parents 40th wedding anniversary and had had included that in the notes of the booking. When my parents arrived they found a lovely card and bottle of wine- I really appreciate that the staff did that little extra for them, it meant a lot
Great hotel! They perform a perfect service meeting all COVID -19 restrictions. Breakfast was good! We had a suite with kitchen. That was very handy. My family enjoyed staying there. I would like to come back in summer again.
