Fantastic location with amazing views. Love the gondola lift to get there, even used it to go to base station and back just for fun. We had room with waterfall view and enjoyed the sound of the running water. The best for me was going with the chair lift to the top meadows just on the border with British Columbia. The views are breathtaking.

We found great restaurants for breakfast and dinner.
We found great restaurants for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed visiting many locations in the National park, and especially enjoyed the gondola ride and views. The staff at the visitor center was very helpful in helping us figure out transportation to Lake Louise and other attractions. The natural environment and architecture reminded us of Switzerland or Austria.

Banff is a beautiful community, nestled in the mountains and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the province. The town site is lovely and there is no shortage of things to see and do, especially if you like the outdoors.
I attended the Melissa's Road Race. It was a great event, and we had a beautiful day for running. There was a real "party" vibe to the race and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
The town was very busy with lots of tourists which I guess is expected. I would like to return for another visit at some point. The drive from BC into the national parkway was spectacular with the mountains and fall colours at this time of year. Truly stunning natural beauty.

Perfect location for exploring Banff National Park, Yoho National Park & Kootenay National Park. Banff itself became very busy & crowded at weekends. But just bear that in mind & book tables at food places beforehand & it was absolutely fine. Defo worth going up Banff Gondola to see Banff in all it's glory. Tunnel Mountain hike was really good & not too time consuming. Cave & Basin was good & I really enjoyed Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum & Cascade Gardens. Very beuatiful.

Lovely place, very atmospheric.
Lovely place, very atmospheric. Convenient for exploring Canadian Rockies and Canadian Icefields.
Skywalk was an amazing experience. Very nice to walk with a guide. Lots of good restaurants in Banff, however we accidentally picked the weekend with Monday holiday. Avoid those. The place became very crowded and lots of traffic congestions. As a result, we could not visit Lake Louise. There are buses from Banff going there but too crowded due to the long weekend.

The town of Banff is spectacular, not overcrowded good restaurants everywhere and lots of outdoor activities available like hiking walking cycling swimming. We strongly recommend renting e-bikes so you can see way more in your short stay the Banff Springs hotel in spectacular but very very expensive.
We loved our stay at Banff Aspen Lodge (as part of our Honeymoon in April). The complimentary breakfast was great value, we always had a variety of foods to keep us full while skiing (rotating oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal). The location is excellent - easy walking distance to all the restaurants in downtown. April is definitely the time to visit in terms of value for money - there was ample free parking available at the hotel. We loved having a proper barista made coffee at White Bark every day. Spacious shower and double sink.
The loft rooms were great. It was nice to have a private room (with a door) for the parents on the main floor and all the children upstairs. The kitchen had all the basic dishes and pots and utensils needed for simple meals. The beds and pillows were comfortable. It was very convenient taking the bus from this hotel to downtown Banff.
This was our first time to book at Douglas Fir. We usually booked on hotels in downtown Banff. We were surprised that the room has kitchen. It's just like a condo. Since our stay was just for a night we were not able to use the hot pool outside. But the mountain view from the deck was spectacular.
The resort was conveniently located near TransCanada Highway 1 and close to Banff. Had a gym and swimming pool with hot tubs which was great. The cabin rooms were well placed.
