There is a lot of over-tourism going on at many sites which includes long waits. Everything has gotten quite expensive and overpriced since the pandemic. This place was my favourite place to visit for vacations growing up, but sadly not anymore. It was a disappointing return.
The Vibrancy, Cleanliness, snd feeling of Safety were all beyond compare! And the stunning beauty of the area is immeasurable! From the Cascade Gardens, the Bow River Falls and it’s art filled walkway , to the unending walking trails, proximity to, and ever present present mountain views, gondola ride up to, and the stellar view from the summit of Sulphur mountain (and the Incredible taste and variety of food at the Northern Lights restaurant at the top!) and large variety of wonderful restaurants, art shops and stores have made it our new worldwide favorite destination !!
Banff is beautiful and can be a very busy location to explore. Plan ahead and book in advance is my advice. Also, be prepared to walk or take a bus around town or to your preferred sight seeing locations and give yourself lots of time to get where you want to go. Our favourite thing to do this visit was the Sunshine Meadows walk/hike on top of Sunshine Mountain. An amazing and fun gondolla and chair lift experience to boot!
Natural beauty that takes your breath away. Thee quintessential Rocky Mountain experience. The town of Banff is very fun with lots of restaurants and shopping. I loved meeting people from all over the world.
Staying close to town allowed us to go in early in the day. As the day progressed, crowds of tourists would be ferried in. It was very crowded on the streets in the afternoon. Town has some good restaurants and cafes.
The bus services were very good for getting out to tourist areas, but the bus booking for service to Lake Louise was confusing with the quota system, but worth the visit. Tourist info office is very well organised and helpful
Hotel is in a great location in Banff. Our plan was to ski which we did each day, alternating between Ski Norquay (20mins), Sunshine (30mins) and Lake Louise (45mins). Close to restaurants, shuttle bus, coffee shops etc. Clothes washer/dryer was great to refresh our stuff after 4 days and before moving onto the next location. Easy free parking right beside hotel. Rooms were clean, decent size and served our needs well. Great value for money. Older hotel but the rooms were completely updated and everything was new and worked well.
This is a beautiful mountain resort with a 15 minute gondola ride to the top. (They also have a shuttle in the summer). My 17 year old son and I were having a mother/son vacation before school started and this was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of summer. The hiking and views were unbelievable. The staff so friendly and welcoming. The location was great for a trip to Lake Louise or the village of Banff. Just a lovely experience.
Banff
An absolutely superb hotel - amazing service from start to finish! Huge two bed suite with three bathrooms and so much space for the whole family to relax. Love view of the mountains. Outdoor pool was amazing and had a bar! Restaurants we’re fab as were the staff! Free bus shuttle into Banff town which we used twice - lovely shops and restaurants - so well worth dragging ourselves away from fairmont for a few hours.
it is the right decision for us to choose to live in Banff town, which for sure to give you more convenience and flexibility than you expect especially if you take vacation and plan trip to Banff national Park. overall, this hotel deserves its price and service is good. the environment is relatively clean and cost effective within the Banff Town.
We wanted to explore Banff area for two full days and we were looking for a place in downtown that isn't very expensive. It's great that you can walk from the hotel to Banff avenue. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast was great (nice to see hot food being served instead of packed food!)
Great location in Banff, a little of the main busy area but very central. Was walking distance to Banff Springs hotel where we were attending a wedding. Big, comfortable and clean room. Easy paid parking under the hotel. Was quite pricey, but then everywhere is expensive in Banff in August!!
The beds are comfy and although the hotel is not new, it is cleaned very well and the size of rooms are big. We got 2 bedrooms apartment with kitchen so we can cook simple meals when we don't want to get out of the hotel. Supermarket and downtown center is 1km by foot.
We enjoyed out 3 night stay, we were within walking distance from downtown with public transportation close. There was a park next to the hotel we enjoyed! The hotel was clean and plenty of free parking downstairs. Yes, I said free about something in the town of Banff!
Room was exceptional and very comfortable. Facilities available within the hotel were outstanding. We stayed in 2 others hotels on our visit to Canada and the moose was by far the best experience overall and value for money. We can’t wait to return
the location is good. the hotel is in Banff downtown and we can walk through the town easily and the hotel has his own parking so it is very comfortable. and the location is beside the river so we have a wonderful view behind the hotel.
I liked how close it was to downtown Banff. The rooms were clean and updated. They were comfortable. I appreciated that the hotel called me to return the air pods that were found after we called them to declare them missing.
Banff
Lovely little hotel just over the river from Banff, full kitchen for guests to use, clean and comfortable with great hosts who kept in touch by WhatsApp to see if you needed anything. Ft more personalised than a large hotel.
The hotel's central location in downtown Banff was fabulous, and the underground parking was easy to use. The room's furnishings were entertainly rustic-looking, while being quite comfortable.
Location is good, convenient for bus to town, free bus pass to town or to Banff High School Transit hub. Our room has stove and kitchen wares for cooking. Downtown is only 1 mile away from the hotel.
Beautiful hotel literally steps from downtown Banff! Breakfast options were amazing and all the staff were very friendly! We liked it so much we extended our stay an extra night.
Room was clean. Walking distance to Roam Transit Bus towards Lake Louise and also to downtown Banff
