Many families visiting Banff loved staying at Peaks Hotel and Suites, Sunshine Mountain Lodge, and Moose Hotel and Suites.
Banff is an amazing destination for every type of outdoor sports. World class king, mountain biking, hikes just to name a few. Shopping and dinning choices are endless. Banff over delivers with scenery that is just spectacular.
Unfortunately because we had only an overnight stay we were only able to show our visiting family from Ontario a limited overview of Banff. They arrived late Friday night, We drove from Calgary Saturday morning. We were able to secure reservations for the Sulfur mountain Gondola for |Friday evening at 7:30 pm . The hotel Italian restaurant was kind enough to accommodate us for their last seating for a late supper. Their fight to return to Ontario was booked for suppertime Sunday.
Banff offers endless possibilities for things to do...shopping, dining, sightseeing, museums, outdoor activities, wildlife sightings and entertainment. We enjoyed the incredible mountain scenery, the hot springs pool, shopping in the gift shops, the vast choices of restaurants and scenic drives.
We really enjoyed the scenery. Eating out was excellent as well, The Grizzly fondue experience was fantastic. We were all happy with the accommodations at the Fox. This trip was mainly for relaxation, we didn't partake in the usual tourist activities this time around.
Overall the trip was good. The only problem was that our hotel, the Red Carpet Inn, was only supposed to hold our deposit. Instead, they cashed it in and have returned it to our card. When I called them today, almost one week after check out, the person I spoke to denied that they cashed the deposit but then later said it had been returned. We are still waiting and are wasting time and long distance calls in follow up with them.
I stayed in Lake Louise most of my trip. The town is quaint and so close to the ski hill. The local mall has an excellent bakery, bookshop, and sports store. Banff is too commercial and crowded for my liking. Most of the shops are tourist traps. Spent the last few days in Banff meeting with my sister and with childhood friends (the latter live in Canmore). We visited art galleries, the Whyte Museum, and hiked along the river. Although I have been to Banff several times, I had never discovered the Wardens' cabins on the museum grounds. Very interesting...and tiny. The Roam bus is excellent value, as is Brewster Express.
Banff
Samesun Banff was absolutely wonderful! My fiance and I stayed here for a week and had no problems, except with trying to find a spot to park, but that's a given in Banff end of July. We loved the location of the hotel, since it is a 5-minute walk from the downtown area, their bunk beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. We never had any issues or concerns with the people that stayed in our room. Great value for your money - it beats spending over $2000 on a hotel that you're only going to sleep and shower in anyways!
Special mention to our man Rodney. Best reason to stay at this hotel together with all the staff. They made sure every needs and requests were met. Check-in and check-out processes are a breeze! I liked the interiors, a very modern touch. Microwave and coffee maker availability is a plus too. Location is very close to downtown Banff and shops. Beds are very comfortable.
The location of this hotel is perfect. Right at the beginning of the downtown, so an easy walk to everything. Right outside the hotel is the bus shuttle, convent and the best way to get around Banff. We took it everywhere, the bus pass is also provided by the hotel. Having a warm breakfast every morning was also very welcoming. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Breakfast was pretty basic hostel breakfast but the kitchen was great for cooking your own food with lots of room to store food in the pantry and fridge (grocery store just up the street) The location was AMAZING steps from downtown Banff and great access to transit to get around (ie. Jasper transfer and Lake Louise)
Great pet-friendly hotel that is centrally located in Banff. Easy to walk or bike anywhere in town. We've been staying at the Moose over the last several years and will continue to return. It is a bit more expensive but it has the best outdoor hot tub in Banff!
The Room was spacious, comfortable and clean, staff were very friendly and the hotel is in good location, close to Banff downtown. Overall, was a pleasant nice staying at Charltons, they upgraded our room to a kitchenette with 2 rooms and mini kitchen.
It's a smaller cozy very quiet and very clean hotel. It's right on Banff Avenue walking distance to everything. The pool and hot tub area is beautiful and I like that you have to book a time to go so there is no over crowding
Very nice hotel to stay in Banff, conveniently located near downtown, very polite And Helpful staff, comfortable bed , one bedroom suites equipped with kitchenette. Overall we like this Hotel in Banff Definitely coming back Here
The whole experience, our 48th anniversary, was exceptional. Great access to downtown Banff. Room soundproofing was the best we have ever experienced in a hotel.
