I was in town for my college reunion. In the many years since I graduated the downtown has expanded and become cute-ified with lots of food choices and little shops. Great for walking and browsing if that is what you seek.
The five-college campus is large and worth a stroll. There are some lovely older homes in the neighborhood around the campus extending up to Foothill Blvd.
Beyond that, Claremont is like many towns in its vicinity with lots of chain stores and businesses. If you are traveling through and stay at one of several hotels near Exit 47, you will not have much of a Claremont "experience".

A few favorite places to eat and several shops to look and maybe buy! A small but perfect movie theater. Some stores have closed or changed hours because of Covid. Some restaurants and shops are highly priced, so I look but don't buy.

Disgusting!!!
Disgusting!!! The minute we walked into the room we saw bugs everywhere, on the beds, floor, and desk. We didn’t even out our stuff down. We immediately left. I asked for a refund and they wouldn’t give it to me. Do not stay here.

Claremont is a cute little town with lots of amenities and restaurants. Walking around the nearby college campuses is enjoyable. Our favorite restaurant in Claremont is La Madrid although there are many good places to eat.

The hotel is really attractive and in a great location. The gardens were nicely maintained and beautifully colourful.
The pool is a great feature and extremely welcome on those hot days.
My bedroom was a good size with an extremely comfortable bed and pillows. You could hear the people in the upstairs accommodation moving about in the early hours though...
I probably ate too many of the complementary cookies.....

If you don't "know" Claremont, or you're in a hurry, or whatever; just keep going and eff off. Claremont is laid back, chill, and quiet. If that ain't you, keep moving...
There are few places in SoCal (I live here, its not 'Cali'; motard...) with the charm of the Village - especially at Christmas. And Claremont holds on to its charm for dear life. It's funky, yet new. It's friggin' Bohemians that surf. You get it or you don't.
I picked this hotel because there were no other hotels in the area where I would feel safe. Also I don't drive so no car or family to call on for easy transport. I loved the staff and the hotel. Especially my room. Private, spacious, clean and the selection of 4 pillows will be a lasting impression of this hotel. Along with Tracy? front desk manager? and all the front desk personnel. They were great. The hotel with great pillows and cookies! That I will always remember.
This hotel was perfect for our group. We really enjoyed the courtyard, pool area and restaurant. We were travelling in a multi generational family group and this hotel really suited us, I am glad we picked it. The staff in the restaurant were very accommodating and kind during our breakfasts at the restaurant. We enjoyed the pool very much. The hotel and grounds were clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was excellent as an included feature of the room reservation. Easy walk to breakfast dining room. pretty surroundings and a nice pool area. Beds were comfortable and King was large. staff were friendly and efficient. Close enough to little downtown area. Claremont is a quaint and interesting town. Great for touring the Claremont Colleges( Harvey Mudd ,Pitzer etc)
Convenient place to stay when visiting the Claremont Colleges. Helpful staff. Emma at the front desk went the extra mile to help me correct a mistake I made on my reservation. Starbucks free coffee in the lobby every morning.
the bad not comfortable, very bad quality mattress. the bathroom and the tub is great! breakfast is fair. location is perfect if the claremont colleges are the destination.
