Beach Hotels in Tangalle

We were in the Good Karma Hotel in mid-March. We really liked everything. The rooms are incredibly clean, the restaurant has a large selection of dishes, very tasty cocktails (I recommend trying MAI TAI). The staff is incredibly nice and very helpful. They helped us with absolutely every request we had. Best location on the coast. we checked several other hotels, but this one has the best view. Due to the season, it was problematic to go into the ocean due to the waves, as I am not a confident swimmer. However, the pool with a view of the shore made up for everything. We even saw a group of monkey once right on the beach. I was very afraid to book a hotel on my own for my first vacation to Sri Lanka, but I am very happy that I chose Good Karma.

I really felt at home here! The hosts went out of their way to care for me, welcoming me with a fresh smoothie and continuing to shower me with fresh fruit and snacks during my stay. Delicious food clearly made with love. The accommodations are clean and comfortable- AC room with fan, en-suite bathroom, mini fridge, etc. the highlight of my stay however was definitely the exceptional service and treatment from the hosts. Highly recommend booking here for a homey stay a stone’s throw from the beautiful Tangalle beach!

Small and private Beautiful empty beach Nobody there

It started when we arrived and were already awaited and greeted by manager John and his girlfriend Adele with big smiles :) They were so very helpful and nice throughout our stay and made the experience perfect. John always had tips for us about where to go and was always available when we had any questions. We were staying in one of their two villas, and it was so nice to have our own living room with comfy couch and even small kitchen with two fridges for drinks. The villas are the most set back from the front of the property and offer perfect privacy if that's what you want. Everything was super clean and nicely furnished - we felt very comfortable. The terrace with lounge chair and sitting area with coffee table was ideal for having a morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The staff! Nuan and Ruzindu (I hope I wrote the names correctly) were the two waiters in the restaurant, and they both did a great job. While I do not remember the chef's name, I need to mention him and the kitchen staff as well, because the food there was some of the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Also, Tila, who takes care of the cleaning and gardens, together with another man, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, where truly warm and kind to us and always passed by our villa for a chat whenever they passed. The staff, together with John and Adele made the stay there to what it was - PERFECT! The property itself is simply beautiful: Laid out very well with lush greenery and nicely done paths throughout, there are 5 rooms in total - 2 villas and 3 bungalows. The hotel was planned and designed very thoughtfully and you feel the emphasis on the detail there. It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach, which is always empty and you can walk for miles in any direction. The sea was not swimmable while we were there due to the strong waves, but it was still beautiful just to look at it and enjoy the views.

We had an amazing stay. The Cabanas are spacious and clean. We also liked the food at the restaurant, we tried breakfast lunch and dinner and we liked it very much. The location directly on the beach is perfect. What we liked the most about this place were the people, they were super friendly and helpful, they did everything to make our stay exceptional. They made us feel like we were staying at a friends or familys place.

There is nothing chaotic and fast about this place, is as serene as possible, spacious, beautiful and comfortable with the attentive staff communicating via WhatsApp giving you the privacy you need. Surroundings are lush green and quiet, view over lagoon perfect. Breakfast plentiful with fruit platter. The best stay we have in Sri Lanka.

This hotel is right on to the beach and run by family and everything is cooked fresh on order. Family goes out of the way to ensure your comfort, safety and enjoyment. Overall, it was a great value for the money and best experience I ever had on a beach resort.
