As we entered the Summset House B&B, we had a lovely welcome from Geraldine. It's a lovely location to stay. Geraldine was helpful with the maps and helping us with the routes and the attraction places . We really love the room neat and clean. Breakfast choices were great, and you can have it in your room if you prefer. We would love to come again and will recommend it to my friends. All the best

Memorable warm reception and hospitality by Jackie and Nigel. Our entire stay was fantastic, from the "Nigel" breakfasts to the relaxed and comfortable experience of the accommodation. This was our first experience of the Lake District. We were very happy we chose this location as a base given the popularity of the usual Lake District locations. Great location and easy access to all attractions and walking trails, away from the crowds. We would stay here again on our next trip!

We really had a lovely comfortable stay. Everything was perfect. Staff and owner were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Our room was beautifully decorated, the shower room was exceptional, the bed really comfortable and the sheets were luxurious. The staff were wonderful, Gillian was especially good, she couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast in the dining room was superb, lots of choice and beautifully cooked with delicious pastries. Both the dining room and the sitting area in the hall had log fires which added to the atmosphere. There was limousine service to and from Cartmel in the evenings. There was also a mini bar in the room and unlimited coffee and tea. Dogs are welcome in some of the rooms. The complimentary glass of champagne on arrival was a lovely touch.

The room was lovely and overlooked the historic part of Cartmel. Walking distance to all the fine dining restaurants and several good pubs. The owner Rachel was fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming as well as very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay not a good breakfast though cold

The Cavendish Arms is a 450 year old coaching inn set in the picturesque village of Cartmel. Located on the outskirts of the English Lake District, Morecambe Bay is just 11 minutes’ drive away.
