The staff was very nice and helpful. The facilities are impeccable. They provide a very delicious Japanese style breakfast. The neighborhood was nice. There are a lot of restaurants nearby (I would recommend you to try Hida beef). I wish I stayed longer.

I came here for my birthday. Unfortunately we didn't get there until late around 8pm, due to trains and train problems: they leave Nagoya every 2 hours and ours was delayed (so give yourself time to get there at a reasonable time) {I phoned them to let them know we would be late},you will also need to take a local train from Takayama. It was raining and we were cold and tired. Since we were late I wasn't sure if we would get supper even though I had paid for it. But thankfully we did and the food was excellent! Very fancy! We ate in a private dinning room looking out on to a garden. Our room was excellent! It was quite big for Japan. There was tatami mats, interesting monkey scroll in the alcove, interesting classy furnishings even the bathroom sink was beautiful. The hot springs/ baths were very good , I enjoyed the outdoor ones which had beautiful gardens. I loved wandering the halls of this ryokan lots of traditional architecture and art work (a beautiful folding screen). You really can feel the history of this hotel.

such a beautiful location on a river with views of mountains and a shrine. the home is 150 years old and totally authentic in style and furnishings. very quiet and peaceful. Our rooms were large enough for 4 adults (2 on futons) or a family. There was a separate bedroom as well as a living area,

location from the train station, 1 minute walk. very clean house, lovely owner that greet us in train station with umbrella for the 6 of us. beautiful, old but newly renovated house in the inside. location is great. just at the back alley from the canal where they put the koi. a quiet town compare to Takayama.

The home was beautiful, spacious and clean. The hospitality was unbelievable, lovely, attentive, kind- I can’t say enough good things about Tai, his mother and the inn. It is gorgeous, spacious yet cozy. It was a top experience and should not be missed. The inn is an hour walk from town and is best accessed by car but Tai will pick you up and drive you around. He took us to a neighborhood we were interested in for dinner and then picked us up immediately afterwards. Breakfast was delightful and they even made a special vegetarian dish for me. Bathrooms are shared yet private. The rooms are huge and so pretty! The traditional mattresses were cozy and comfy.
