The entire place was very nice, loved the interior Japanese-style design. The bath was also amazing. Overall, it felt very luxurious and totally worth the price we paid.

Lovely place, just outside the tourist area. Very easy accessible by 2 train stations. With a few steps you are in the middle of nature and must see temples. By train you are in Kyoto in 25 mins. The house has everything you need, the onsen is just perfect.

This was amazing. I will definitely be back here. This is recommended if you want to have a very Japanese home experience. The place was very clean and theyre actually better in actual than the photos. It had everything we needed. And Kenji was very helpful and kind too! I hope to come back soon.

Stunning views from the private onsen attached to the room courtyard, you can hear the river at night and see the cherry blossoms and mountains from the tub. A separate bathing tub inside the unit allows you to open the door fully and experience the same sights and sounds. There is a room service to clean, make the beds, restock the fridge, tea, towels, and provide clean yakatas. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and I felt taken care of. The food service was undoubtedly a top highlight to my stay, aside from the serene environment.

The convenience of being able to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings without spending excessive time on transportation was a major plus point. The amenities at Muji Arashiyama Villa were impressive. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The rooms were equipped with modern conveniences, including a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a well-stocked kitchen. The attention to details and the overall cleanliness of the rooms truly added to the overall comfort of our stay. Furthermore, the staff at Muji Arashiyama Villa deserves immense praise for their exceptional service. The staff members were attentive, courteous, and always ready to assist with any request or query. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions or promptly addressing any concerns, their dedication to ensuring a memorable stay was evident.

This is the best hostel experience that I had in Japan (I switched several hostels because of my long stay), then I realized the people who run the hostel are nice because they are Chinese people, not Japanese. I always had nice experiences with Chinese people everywhere I go. Unlike Japanese hosts who are super mean and cold to me, the staff at Mulan were very kind, accommodating and caring towards me. I can’t stress this enough because the day I stayed in Mulan was the only time that I could feel a human connection from people with a heart rather than cold hearted robotic Japanese people.
