From the start we were greeted by the amazing Sayed and the Agafay team who warmly welcomed us to the property and offered us some delicious mint tea and cookies while our room was being prepared. The location is excellent with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding valley. The pool is massive and incredibly refreshing to relax at during the hot days. There is a full bar available if you want wine or cocktails and they are happy to serve you by the pool while you relax. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with big windows that overlook the mountains. The beds are comfortable as well. We had dinner on the property and it was phenomenal! There were even local singers that came in to do traditional Moroccan music with dinner. Breakfast was included with the stay and was also excellent (the coffee especially!). Bottom line, I would not hesitate to return to the property and stay again!

Lovely, quiet, remote glamping spot, tucked just beneath the rolling rocky dune crests, with High Atlas mountain views, and dark, starry night skies. The tents have individual showers and camp commodes, solar-powered lights, and candles (and working smoke detectors), fairly comfy beds, with big, fluffy duvets and extra blankets available to keep out the December chill. A supplementary gas heater is available to warm up your large-hotel-room-sized zippered tent on request. Food is served on picnic-style tables in a turn-of-the-century-decorated large tent, open on one side to the desert wadi and the lightening, or darkening sky. The team of Zakaria, Jawad, and Ibrahim provides hearty, simple meals from chicken tagine to shakshouka, and even provid wonderful gluten-free food (running into Marrakech to shop for corn meal and rice etc to serve instead of bread, to accommodate the last-minute request). The camp features numerous outdoor chatting areas - open-air living rooms to put the outside world behind you. On that note, please note that wifi service has been discontinued as of December 2022, so that guests can truly "unplug." Camp kitten-cat Rosa provides entertainment (she followed Zakaria around the market so she got to come home to Camp Cameleon), and three camp pups keep watch for all at night. Ask your hosts about some of the more famous visitors to the rocky Agafay desert - just nearby is the mud-walled sprawling village compound that was turned briefly into a desert Palace for Yves Saint Laurent's birthday, and Madonna marked her 60th nearby as well. The goal of the camp, as well as to be light on the local ecology, is to give back to the local Berber community. The land is rented from the village and the camels provided by the village as well. Your hosts can arrange you a gentle dawn or dusk camel excursion. (As well as quad bike rides etc.

It is an amazing experience to go to The Original Camp, we had a wonderful night. It was perfect that they organized the transport to and from the camp to Marrakesh, which was perfect. The dinner and entertainment were super, and the staff were just wonderful (there was a young girl that was so nice). The owner is super fun and very friendly. I totally recommend this camp. We also took the camel riding. It was so calm, and I enjoyed it so much.

Relaxing and serene atmosphere throughout with 360° beautiful desert views. Pools were beautiful and not too busy (July). Rooms were separated tents, quite private, with amazing views with a sunken Bath outside. Breakfast was a set menu and very nice. Tapas were particularly good. Plenty of activities available - quad biking with our guide Toufeq was outstanding.

Lovely pool areas. Tasty breakfast. Great views - some of the desert is a bit bleak but the landscape here is lovely. There’s a sunset/sunrise peak you can walk up to with uninterrupted views. Great that there is a fridge in the room so you can bring your own food/drinks. Reception offered a buggy to transport luggage to tents. We were able to book a transfer back to Marrakech at relatively short notice on the same day, although they weren’t particularly flexible with timings.

Although everything was quite rustic, when we asked for the heater to be turned on to warm the tent, we got a warm room, and could even take a shower in the morning, in a tent, in the desert. The view of the mountains and sunset was great!

This place is breathtaking. Considering we have lived in outback for few years, this is indeed a luxury. Love how the tents are built overlooking the gorgeous desert. Waking up to that view is just amazing. Love the fireplace outside. There's so many beautiful touches all around. So peaceful, even though there's many visitors the time we were there. But it was relaxing.

Amazing experience! Well worth it. Sheer expanse, silence, views and sunsets in the desert. So peaceful. Lovely private tents. Fantastic food and Moroccan music and looked after by great staff who were very friendly and could not do more for you. Really enjoyed the camel rideing and quad biking too.

It's a great experience to stay in the rocky desert. It was very hot weather but fortunately they have luxury air-conditioned tents and lovely swimming pools. They have a built-in bathtub on the veranda decking outside of each tent, which is fabulous for relaxing and looking at the deserts and mountains in the distance, even the sunset.
