This is a family-operated business so everyone that I interacted with was very welcoming and friendly. As a solo female traveler, I was unsure about safety, but the staff immediately made me feel welcome and taken care of. I felt very safe here. The women running this guesthouse was incredibly lovely. Her cooking was really tasty, locally sourced ingredients and the best bean soup I had in Albania. This place has a very laid back feel. It’s fairly basic accommodation but only to be expected in a remote part of the Albanian Alps.

The place was very beautiful , the food so good especially the wine! The staff went above and beyond while we were celebrating a birthday and made it so special. The owner/host is very friendly and concerned with the guests' comfort. The location is very quiet, and the view is impressive. Vila Alexander is several kilometers away from Valbona which is trying to turn itself into a groovy "scene". Pretty much car dependant, but local shuttles do stop nearby.
