Perfectly located on the Worthersee! The dock had plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas and stairs to get into the lake. It DOES have air conditioning, which was nice as temperatures were in the 90’s. A beautiful hotel. The hotel gave us 1 room instead of 2, but made it right and we stayed in a suite for the first night. It also sits on the boardwalk which made a nice walk each evening. I would love to come back here.

The hotel is beautiful, full of art and set on a stunning lake. The property is immaculate, the service impeccable and the food delicious. They have an amazing pastry chef and wonderful breakfasts. Our room was very comfortable, huge bathroom, gorgeous views and terrace. The spa was wonderful too!

    Sadly our hotel could not offer an evening meal as they had a group staying, but there are some excellent restaurants in the town: Pörtschacher Stüble, Sissi’s, Werzers Bootshaus (newly opened in May 2025) and Little Italy were our favourites. The young waitress in Little Italy was a lesson in how to wait at tables-such professionalism and always a big smile! We are in our 70s and less mobile than we once were, but getting around was very easy. The ferry runs all day; we spent many happy hours on it. You can buy a day ticket for about 22 euros and can hop on and off. We bought a weekly ticket for 48 euros and got our money’s worth! We loved it so much that I hesitate to tell people about it! Ryanair flies to Klagenfurt twice a week. From there a 15 minute taxi ride brings you to Pörtschach.

    It was a lovely little town with quite a few restaurants on offer on the main street and down by the lake, and a super market over the road from where we were staying. We ate at "Little Italy", lovely pasta. Had breakfast at the bakery by the train station - amazing food! The train station (5 minutes) up the main road was cheap and easy to use to go into Klagenfurt or the other direction of Velden. We booked all our train tickets using trainline app, which was easy too. It was a short walk down to the Lake which came alive in the evening. It also offered people with families a family friendly park to spend the day on the lake. One day we hired scooters and followed the lake until we found a place to swim. We stopped at Pritschitz and bathed in the lake, locals had their paddleboards / kayaks out.

    Pörtschach is a (touristic) village at the Woerthersee with many restaurants and bars. Excellent for wateractivities but also a good base for walking/hiking. Sightseeing options in the neighbourhood to spend some days. We had a very good dinner experience at restaurant Orathai Schiffwirth.

    The hotel is in a lovely position with easy access to swimming in the lake (the water quality is drinking water!); the ferry that plies up and down; and a town centre with shops, cafés and restaurants. We stayed in the little pavilion right on the lake, so we had a marvellous view and also air conditioning. Breakfast on the terrace with the fountain tinkling is a treat!

    It was my second stay this summer and I loved it even more. Villa Reiner has the best beach around woerthersee. The views are breathtaking. Absolutely stunning food both berakfest and dinner. Hotel crew is very helpful and friendly. Whole place is devine and tranquile. Highly recomend. Very regenerative.
