A great experience in a small town. Very quiet, relaxing, and refreshing. Excellent breakfast and some great restaurant choices in town. Well worth the drive from Vienna. If you are a wine aficionado, this location must be on your bucket list. High-quality art work and personal touches in every room personally by the owner (forgot to say, she is awesome and the best host I've seen).
Rust is small but very nice historical town with churches, historical houses and town walls. On Hauptstrasse and close to Fischerkirche you can find nice wine bars as the town is wellknown for its wines. Also you can find good typical restaurants near Alten Stadttor (Seezeile). The town is good starting point to discover this part of Neusiedlersee region. Preferable by bike but you can also walk or by bus (free for Neusiedlersee card holders). In hot summer you can go to the lake (2,0 km from city center) to enjoy the watter activities on the lake or swipping pools. You can visit Mörbisch with local museum, wineries and lake beach. Going by bike is the best way.
Rust is the cosy and beautiful small resort town, very accurate and well-treated by citizens. the place where you feel and sense the best of Austrian tradition, culture and attitude. Also very friendly and international, as most of people speak English, Hungarian, Slovak languages and treat the conversation with respect. Rust combines luxury boar travels with very affordable town-, lake-and surrounding trips. Dining and cafes, bistrot and places the Locals visit are also represente with variety for each taste, budget and preference. Very relaxed and loveable town.
You have to see this storks paradise. Very cuty small town, wonderfull countryside also at winter time. At summer time this is the best place to come - you can swim, bike, travel by foot, have a good wine.
Very nice place with good wine and a beautiful old town. Time runs slowly there. Unfortunately I'm not impressed with the restaurants in Rust. I didn't visit everyone obviously, just a few on the old town, but the food was average.
Everything was perfect. We cooked for ourselves. But Rust is just 15 min away on foot. There you have a large selection of restaurants, Inn,... We often used the electric boat. It was great. There is a seaside resort and not far away the family park. You can do surf lessons or sailing courses. Also you can rent pedal boats. And of course you can just relax and enjoy your holiday.
The location was very charming, just behind the restaurant on a side street of the main village. The village of Rust is just breathtaking, with the storks on the roofs, and the lake within walking distance. The village is situated in a huge area of vineyards, and as such, is teeming with a plethora of Winegut (Vineyard owners and wine makers). My wife and I spent the afternoon, walking from one Winery to another tasting all the variations of the Blaufrankish grape. We bought 3 bottles to bring back.
The Katamaran hotel might lack some charm at first sight, but the terrace, the manicured garden, the lobby and the tastefully decorated rooms made up for it, totally! We were met by a very friendly person who went out of her way to make us welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was incredible; so fresh and a huge variety of food. We will definitely stay there again. Btw, the Katamaran restaurant, owned by the same people, is a must. Lovely setting and very nice food. We had a lovely time in Rust.
The most recent of many visits to this hotel, and not the last. The rooms are a bit expensive but the location and facilities compensate for this. This visit we were in a junior suite which was very large and comfortable. In the past i have had different rooms all of which were a good size and very comfortable. The hotel has now started locking off parking spaces for guests, which is better than the free for all before.
Very friendly people, discreet. The hole place was very calm, a good site for relaxation. Breakfast was tasty, more than enough ( and I am a good eater). The hotel is like a fairy place. Very clean. The welcome drink was a nice gesture and is was delicious.
Rust
A lovely place to stay, and the village of Rust itself is lovely. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, including some very tasty jams & pâté. Cooked eggs were also available upon request.
Very clean and confortable apartment, located in a quiet area near the wine yards. Good facilities (kitchenette and large bathroom), confortable bed and nice view from the balcony.

I liked the calm of the hotel, despite other guests being there at the same time (even families with children)
