The staff at Arcadia Village Motel were extraordinarily Adam and Tay were so wonderful The room was so comfortable and outlook was fabulous There was absolutely nothing to complain about except we didn’t stay long enough
Arcadia is the best bay on Magnetic island. Walk along Geoffrey Bay, head out to the old jetty and feed the rock wallabies. Swim in Alma Bay, snorkle around the rocks or jump off Bums rock at high tide. Lounge on the terraced lawn sweeping down to the beach in the shade ( if swimming is not your thing), cook your own BBQ or head over to the Pub for lunch and a swim in their pool. head up to the Waterfall pools, or hike to Nelly. Walk or bus tothe other Bays. Look out for the Koalas and wandering Curlews and Echidnas that call Arcadia home.
We have stayed in the this area once before a couple of years ago. the Arcadia Hotel is in a great location, has great staff and food and drinks are reasonably priced and good variety. there is the Alma Bay Surf club which has a fantastic park area beside it with 3/4 bbq's and plenty of seating. the bay is great for swimming and is patrolled. the rock wallabies are in the rocks across the road from the hotel and you can photograph, feed and pat them. Geoffrey bay has a snorkeling trail to follow and the area is easy for most people to swim and snorkel around. It is an easy walk along the coastal pathway to Nelly Bay. The local bus is cheap enough and runs constantly late into the night if you don't have a car or don't want to pay the $220 to take your vehicle over on the ferry. there are a heap of walking trails that criss cross all over the place so there is plenty to keep you occupied or you can just relax and enjoy the beach.
Beautiful spot on Magnetic Island. Nearby Alma Beach is a good, family friendly beach, bus stop to ferry close by and a general store across the road. Great typical Magnetic Island scenery with rocks, trees and sea - painters' and photographers' paradise. Wheelchair friendly.
Acadia is a central location on the Island with 2 lovely beaches within walking distance from accommodation, Geoffrey Bay and Alma Bay. Alma Bay has a family oriented feel to it with a life guard on duty on the beach, a playground for the kiddies and picnic tables and BBQ facilities. Across the road is the Acadia Hotel which has accommodation, bottle shop, and bistro. Menu has a great variety to choose from. A Newsagency/store is also across the road from Alma Bay that sells cold drinks, ice creams, casket tickets/scatchies, books, newspapers, stamps and souvenirs.
Ive been visiting Arcadia for almost all of my life. it's the best location on the island from a family perspective, entirely walkable, Geoffrey Bay is a green zone and reef access is possible at low tide and a great late afternoon walk; Alma bay is the best swimming on the island and a great shady spot
Great space, decor, amenities and location, close to Arcadia pub and Geoffrey Bay. Very handy 3 min bus ride from Nelly Bay ferry terminal and so convenient to have a bus stop directly out the front of the house. Loved our friendly visiting kookaburra - a real treat for the kids! BBQ on the verandah also a bonus.
Nice apartment in the nature rich part of the island, arcadia. Not to far from a bar/pub and minimarket even if not in nelly bay. Geoffrey bay is wonderful and 5 mins walking from the apartment. The check-in was great, they also drove us to the apartment, very much appreciated!
We stayed in Room 19. This was our 4th stay at Arcadia and we noticed the little improvements since the new owners took over like bed side tables, microwave and toaster. We love staying here as it is central.
Convenient walk to beach, clean, tidy, friendly and affordable!
