Hotel in Bright
Featuring a restaurant and a bar, Bright Velo is located in Bright. Mount Hotham is 21 miles from the hotel, while Falls Creek is 20 miles away. The self check in boxes are a great idea. We arrived after 6pm, after hiking the beautiful Bright mountains all day, the owner had sent us a text early that morning with the instructions on how to access our room key from the security box. There was no need to rush which was a bonus. Clean room, comfy beds, in a separate room there was a kitchen, comfy couch, table, chairs, fridge, microwave. Beautiful little bathroom amenities, clean towels. External windows if you want to take in the fresh country air and/or new, quiet all temperature air conditioner in each room. Hot shower. Off street parking, the owner even squeezed in a few camper trailer too. The owner has done a great job renovating, keeping the old charm of the building and still provided modern facilities in the rooms.

Set within manicured gardens, overlooking Ovens River, this property is located just an 8-minute walk from Bright town center. A restaurant, bar and an outdoor pool are available for you to enjoy. The river view rooms - wow, just wow. Probably my favourite memory from the whole holiday was waking up to the king parrots and kookaburras in the morning. Magical!

Offering a private swimming pool surrounded by lovely gardens, Bright Avenue Motor Inn is just 0.6 mi from Bright’s shops, cafés and restaurants. Everything was fantastic. Close to town, absolutely spotless, everything you’d need in your room besides cooking appliances (which we didn’t need for our stay). The small details were what made it for us. Netflix, wifi, fireplace, easy checkin/out, spa, electric blankets. The bed was really comfortable and the place we stayed in felt nice and homey. We will definitely visit again!! I wish I had taken some photos because the pictures shown when booking really don’t do it justice. Thanks

We were really impressed with how modern the motel is. It had all the amenities we required and we appreciated the free on site parking. The location is perfect and close to town. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The community is clean, people at bright are friendly and helpful, u can travel to the lookout point up on mountain with just 1.2km from the centre, do cycling , fresh air and nice view. Breakfast is nice, don’t forget to grab a pork pulled burger at the corner shop ( opposite the shell station ), it’s taste amazing.

Bright is a beautiful cozy town that always has something going on from short snow trips up to the toboggan or ski fields, to Autumn festivals, Car festivals & craft markets. It’s a yearly getaway for my family over the Easter break but often just a lovely place to take a drive to for something yummy for lunch or dinner. It’s a feature packed small town destination that has something for young & old, men and women.
Lovely place to visit Lots of walks and things to see if you source them out we found swings bridges that were a little out of the way but worth the visit ,canyon walk ,Huggins lookout Mount buffalo
We like to walk and Bright was really good for both short and longer walks. We walked along the short walks along the river and back. I like the swinging bridges and natural bird life. Our long walk beside the creek to Wandiligong was wonderful. We had dinner at the Alpine Pub which was delicious. Excellent and generous breakfast and coffee at the Cherry Walk coffee shop across the road from the hotel, and a hot pie at the Beechworth bakery. All good. Our only two complaints, as walkers, was one, the distances stated on the maps and signposts are sometimes deceptive (shorter than real times and distances) and the other, that there was nothing open on our walk to the old gold mining centre at Wandiligong on Wednesday. The pub is shut on Tuesday and Wednesday; and Wandiligong is a long way to walk to find everything closed (the map had a few cafes but nothing was open). We could not even find fresh water. The general store had closed in 1974! :-) The distance by car is stated at 5 km; but it is very different (almost double) when walking via the creek walking tracks. These are much more beautiful.
Bright has something to offer throughout the year and it is an incredibly peaceful and relaxing place to take a short break from work. The air is fresh and the people are friendly and welcoming. There are some good eats in Bright but they normally require a booking or you'll have to go early to avoid the crowds. Shops do open quite late but that also means there's no rush to wake up early.

Our cabin felt very spacious and was very well appointed. We didn’t use the kitchen, but could easily have prepared a meal there. Everything was clean and extremely comfortable. The trees in the camping ground were spectacular in autumn, and we found pine mushrooms in the beautiful pine forest over the road. The staff were amazing and even generously helped out our family when they found the house they’d rented nearby didn’t have linens provided. So kind!

We have stayed there the last 3 years and this year was the best. The cabins have been updated with a fresh coat of paint, new TV and some Updated furniture. Everything works well and the heater keeps the cabin toasty warm. Being on the Hotham side of Bright, it’s super convenient for a day trip up to Hotham or Dinner Plain. Highly Recommended!

I’ve stayed here before & chose this due to the restaurant & bar - this was closed due to lack of staff (which I understand). Suggest that the hotel makes it clear that certain facilities are not available.since it is not a quick walk into town- it makes it inconvenient if want a meal & beer if driving. Pleasant staff. Thanks

What a great little motel with a lovely ambience. Once you drive through the front gate there are only 12 units, a pool, and lovely grounds secluded behind high hedges, this motel is a great place to come home to after a day out exploring beautiful Bright and its surrounds.
I visited Bright couple of times, i stayed at Bogong last year and then onwards i didnt bother to stay anywhere else. I booked twice by myself and stayed around 6 times here with group... Comfortable, no issues and no nonsense from the management. Highly recommended...
Bright
Bright warm 2 bedroom very modern house that had great kitchen bathrooms and living areas. Plenty of dining equipment and all the mod cons one could want. Felt like home and only a short walk into the central town centre. Couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended.

The location is amazing. Just 500 meters from the Bright brewery, you don't have a take a car to the brewery and drink as much as you can. The other side of the motel is on the river front and it's soothing, children can play and you have a picnic.
Bright
Due to covid serving breakfast was canceled. But I received home-prepared sweets and cakes everyday instead. My car had issues too as always in holidays. The hotel owner was very helpful of solution offerings.
A motel well preserved for its age and in a nice garden setting consistent with Bright's scenery. Room good size, large window, very clean and with all facilities. Plenty of parking. Wifi good.
unreal location right in front of ovens with a background of hills and 2 min walk to bright town centre, cant ask for more if you are looking to stay with a natural setting

I loved Knox Cottage at Abby’s Cottages. The cottage was lovely and had everything you needed. The hamper breakfast supplied was generous and of good quality. The views were spectacular. The cottage is on one level so perfect for anyone with mobility issues. The surrounds are idyllic, so peaceful. Lovely walks close by. Sue, the owner was terrific to deal with. I’m looking forward to returning one day.

With 6 minute walk to the centre of Bright, Nick and Co. have done a great job creating a warm, comfy and super clean place to stay. A perfect place to come back to after hitting the slopes. Rooms are well insulated against the cold and noise. Highly recommend for location, comfort, cleanliness and affordability.

Our hosts, Kellie & Alistair were friendly & helpful. The cottage we stayed in was beautifully appointed with thoughtful little extras. One thing that we particularly appreciated were the USB ports beside each bed enabling us to charge our phones overnight.
