United StatesWe only stayed on night on our two day trip from Sydney to Adelaide. Hay was a good choice for the one night of this two day trip, and Comfort Inn Bishops Lodge was the best place to stay in Hay. We had a comfortable, clean and safe room. We checked in with the owner (Doug) and we're welcomed and immediately felt relaxed after our long drive. Doug gave a great recommendation fir dinner that worked out perfectly. Nothing more we could ask.

What makes Hay a great place to visit? The people of course!
What makes Hay a great place to visit? The people of course! The Riverina hotel has great country atmosphere.Small but quaint, filled with local characters and very friendly staff. Don’t let the simple dining room fool you this pub serves great pub food which the locals all know and which is why most nights you need to book before you go.

I have always passed through on my way to somewhere else, I had to break the trip this time. Getting to old for 15 hour drives. Glad we stopped, we found a great pet friendly b&b. And did a tour of the town before setting of this morning. Now I want to go back for a longer stay. I know I missed half of what they have on offer. But sadly had to be somewhere else.

Perfect halfway mark between Sydney & Adelaide. Not a lot of options to eat but we found a super pizza & takeaway place in the main street, sorry I can't recall the name?? (something boys?) You have to try their mushroom & truffle one, we were even given a sample prior to ordering!

Hay is pretty quiet for a coastal city person like me,...
Hay is pretty quiet for a coastal city person like me, especially on a Sunday between Christmas and New Year. However, being approximately half-way on the drive between Sydney/Wollongong and Adelaide, it provides an ideal location to rest up overnight, especially as a solo driver. It has a good supermarket and cafe and there were plenty of options for an evening meal at the RSL, Bowling Club and pub provided you are ready to eat around 6pm. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Saltbush Motor Inn in the centre of town which I highly recommend.

I have always loved Hay.
I have always loved Hay. It's a town with history and some fantastic older buildings. Great place to stay when travelling onto other areas. A must visit to the supermarket where the owner has some of his old bikes on top of fridges. It really is something special. Think about staying a couple of nights at least.

Hay has put a lot of effort into making a visit interesting. The water tower art commemorating service personnel was a highlight. Check out their website visithay.com.au and you might be tempted to stick around for a second night.

The Convent is conveniently located in Hay and we’ve stayed there a number of times when travelling by car, interstate, from Adelaide. We’ve found the rooms spacious, beds always comfortable, and great showers! The venue has a good system for checking in and we’ve experienced prompt responses to any queries or requests.

I liked the old world feel and the high ceilings . The hotel was grand in its day and still has a nice feel . Shame that the pub/ bar is no longer running commercially , so it felt a bit unused . But these buildings must be kept going in towns like Hay .

Room was clean and appeared to have been recently upgraded throughout. Bed was very comfortable and towels soft and fluffy.
