This was in a good location for us, and was a very good value. For the cost, we had fairly low expectations, but found the rooms recently renovated, clean, and comfortable. There is both a bar and restaurant on site (however, restaurant seemed to close very early, so we did not eat there). Sheets and towels were furnished, and the bathroom and shower room were clean and conveniently located, with good hot water. Each room had a small refrigerator, a sink, and a hot water pot. Don't miss the Museum a block away from the Hotel.

Breakfast options were significant and better than the hotel in Hobart. The beds were very comfortable. Heating had been turned on prior to our arrival, so the house was comfortably warm.

9 people from Singapore stayed two nights. 24 Sep 23 and 26 Sep 23. We were very impressed. The bed is comfortable and warm. The rooms are also cosy and warm. Mountain view is good, fantastic. Price is very reasonable. No problem with virtual check-in. Just call the number provided and you will be given number to access the box to collect the unit keys. Happened to meet the host, Henry who is very friendly and generous. Didn't charge us when we mistakenly opened a bottle of wine. Refused to charge though we offered to pay. Thank you.

I am interested in the mining history of our country so Queenstown plays to this very well. There is a good deal to see in and around the town. It definitely has the feel of a town that generated great wealth in its prime and has unfortunately fallen on hard times more recently. There is a sense that the town is trying to reinvent itself as a unique tourist destination and the railway is a worthy focal point for that, hopefully the connection to Regatta point can be made again sometime soon.

I liked Queenstown and it has changed a lot since my last visit in 1985. It needs to cater for vegetarians. I found it very difficult to eat out. I am glad to see the forest regenerate and it is a beautiful part of the world.

There was a lot to do and see.

There was a lot to do and see. We are not walkers so we were limited with what we had to do. The train trip was fabulous, and so was the boat rip up the Gordon river. The Galley Historic was very interesting and worth the visit. Zeehan was amazing.

Queenstown is a historical town , with interesting places and sights. It is not luxurious or particularly pretty and the accomodation and restaraunts are mostly lacking in ambience. Strahan may be a better place to stay if you are looking for a more upmarket experience. The road to Strahan is steep and windy , we travelled it multiple times for the railroad and river cruise and in hindsight we would have been better off staying in Strahan. Queenies Cribs cafe is nice and so is Hunters Hotel, although the rooms are small, the owners and service is great.

An absolute gem! I loved my stay here—it felt just like home. The owner truly pours his heart into this hotel, and I had some great conversations with him. This is how hospitality should look like. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to you as well if you need a place in Queenstown!
