Beautiful cozy cottage . Stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer. Very relaxing and good bedding and heating.Within walking distance of all attractions. I would definitely recommend to stay at The Quarters while in Strahan.

We stayed in strahan for 2 nights and went on a river cruise, we watched a play (The boat that never was), we did a walk in the forrest and went on a guided walk. It was a most enjoyable trip. If you get the chance, watch the play, the boat that never was. This is a fun and entertaining show.

Such a beautiful little village.

Such a beautiful little village. We really loved the cruise up the Gordon River, and wished we had stayed an extra night so we could go on the train. A long drive there, but it was well worth it !!!

History of the west coast.

History of the west coast. Red Boat cruise of Macquarie Harbour and Gordon R was a quality offering, with great commentary and guided tour of Sarah Island. West Coast Wilderness Railway trip also very interesting to an old railway guy from Queensland

We loved the village feel of Strahan.

We loved the village feel of Strahan. Even in the winter, there were a number of things to do. The drama, "The Ship that Never Was", was excellent fun. We felt welcomed as tourists and enjoyed soaking up the history from the locals. Everyone was welcoming and gracious. While there were fewer places open for dining mid-winter, something was always available.

The highlights for me were what many people come for, the cruise up the Gordon river, and the wonderfully funky play ("The Ship That Never Was"), with audience interaction, about a true event in the town’s past. The largest hotel is conveniently placed right next to the site of these two major activities and is very comfortable; however the dining possibilities in this region leave a lot to be desired, especially if one is coming not in high season.

Strahan is a beautiful place,quiet and peaceful along the...

Strahan is a beautiful place,quiet and peaceful along the rugged west coast. Lovely walks around and play areas for children. There are plenty of places to eat along the Esplanade and drink delicious coffee and take in the scene. where the foreshore is dotted with boats. From Strahan there are many walks that can be completed from short walks that only take 40 minutes to some that are 4 to 5 hours long; all very beautiful.

Seafarer is a wonderful house in Strahan opposite the ferry wharf , a very convenient location for boat rides , restaurants , entertainment and more no need to take the car. The house is really special and has a lovely coastal feel .Everything you could want for a holiday house and more . We loved the wonderful fresh bread and spreads left for us and the Tasmainian bottle of wine.

This was the idea stop for us during our 25 night holiday in Tasmania. Having the whole house enabled us to rest and reset for the next part of our journey. For example as it had the facilities to wash and dry clothes, including suppling of washing powder and room to hang out clothes. Great base from which to explore Strahan. Under cover parking for two vehicles was good.

We loved the self contained unit we were in, the friendly host, free laundry facilities with a clothes airer and pegs we could use, being close to the tours we did while in Strahan, and being close to some really nice eateries.

We had a comfortable room, beds were fine, bathroom was good, no view as unbeknown to me, I hadn't booked a room with a view. I guess they book out early by the bus companies? Strahan is a nice little village, good restaurants.
