Hotel in Strahan
Strahan Village offers a restaurant, bar and holiday accommodations in a historic West Coast fishing village. The room was spacious and the bed comfy. There was portable heater to heat up the room but has limited coverage as the built-in heater was not working. The food at the main restaurant was yummilious indeed. Adventures are round the corner and I had the opportunity of driving to Macquarie Heads End via unpaved tracks.

GG Gateway to the Gordon is a 4-star property located in Strahan. Each room at the 4-star hotel has garden views, and guests can enjoy access to a garden and to a terrace. It's way better than other accommodations we've lived so far. Everything was perfect. Location is closer to Center but far from noise. Loft is beautifully decorated and the view is beautifully. Host Tia is so nice and thoughtful. Everything is well stocked. Attention to detail is superb. Basket is a good touch.

On Macquarie Harbour, the historic Franklin Manor was originally built in 1896. It has a guest lounge with a fireplace, free Wi-Fi and rooms with a flat-screen TV. French style breakfast. Hot croissants with proscuitto and cheese and fresh fruit were delicious. The apple danishes we took for morning tea. Toast and spreads or cereal upon request were also included. Hot chocolate was good. The manager, Lincoln was friendly and helpful. He took our cases upstairs. Good quiet location within 10 mins walk to town.

Located in the heart of Strahan, 2 minutes' walk from West Strahan swimming beach and adventure playground, Strahan Holiday Retreat offers a range of quality accommodations plus a shop and cafe on... Great location and very private. Good outlook into bush settings. Cosy n comfortable. Excellent value.
A small charming town with everything in walking distance (depending on how far you like to walk!). Good restaurants and other places to eat. Visit to Sarah Island (former convict gaol although now in ruins) a must. Definitely take the guided tour, which was very informative. Our guide, a trained actor, made the characters and history come alive. The tour of the Gordon River, Macquarie Harbour and Hells Gate on the Harbour Master 2 was also fabulous.
Strahan is a nice little town. River cruising it's the main tourist attraction in town (I think). I also enjoyed walking along the river and have a picnic at the open grass area, watching sunset. Few restaurants in town centre, but better do booking otherwise you may have to wait 45 to 60 minutes to get table.
Beautiful quiet little town on a huge natural harbour and on the edge of a World Heritage listed rain forest. It is worth taking the red boat trip around the harbour and up the Gordon river. Easy location to walk around if it isn’t raining.
Enjoyed exploring Macquarie Harbour. Would liked to have learned more about opportunties arouond the area, but were disappointed to discover the tourist information centre is only open Monday to Friday. We arrived on the Saturday of a long weekend and the information centre remained closed on the holiday Monday.
The view from the room was lovely, looking over the harbour. This is not a flash modern room but we were looking for something more traditional and this fitted the bill perfectly. Great restaurant underneath!
Pristine wilderness area which has retained its unspoiled character since our last visit 22 years ago. Lots of activities to participate in such as the Wilderness boat trip to the Gordon River and to Sarah Island. Wilderness train ride and do not miss the play 'The ship that never was'. All must be pre booked to avoid disappointment. And of course smack in the middle of Australia's World Heritage Listed Wilderness area, where you can stand along side Huon and King Billie pine trees some more than a thousand years old.

The staff are fantastic and great fun. The on-site cabins are clean with a great little kitchen setup. The shower is incredible and will wash away all the road grim and aches if you have been traveling. Having the creek behind the cabin and surrounded by trees it feels as though you truly are alone in the bush. The area around Strahan is brimming with walks, history, and nature. Plenty of shops and cafes for all your needs. Will be back.

Very generous continental breakfast! lovely bathrooms, linens and toiletries.

Ken and Jo were the best hosts of their beautiful home. The beds were so comfortable, the cleanliness of the new and renovated facilities were wonderful. It really was our highlight of our visit to Tasmania. We really can’t wait to return. Thank you Ken

Not sure if you should call it "Holiday Apartments". I think the accommodation is kind of self contained units/ villas. Short stay is OK as the facilities are quite basic. It was very clean and comfortable though.
Great sized 2 bed cottages with parking. Also a nice grassed area a the rear fo the property meant the children could run around and ride their bikes too. Also laundry facilities were good. Good place for a family I reckon.
Strahan
Very comfortable cottage outside the main centre of Strahan. Very good cooking facilities and heating via the gas fire place effective. Other cottages on the block are a bit run down and don't seem to be in use.

Good quality, comfortable and roomy accommodation for a family group of 3 or 4. Strahan is an expensive place to stay, but we thought Kitty's Place represented good value for money.

This hideaway is a truly special place for those wanting a private getaway with some magic. We had such a beautiful experience and Michelle did everything to make sure our stay was perfect. I loved the attention to detail for a seaside stay and having ducks come to greet us was the cherry on top. This modern meets sea-shack chic was comfortable with beautiful views and food provided with local produce to make super yummy morning omelettes. Loved staying here and will be back soon!
