I would suggest it is the best base for a first timer to Barbados, as you can get involved with the low and high ends of Barbados depending on which you enjoy. Fantastic apartment with everything in it which one possibly needs. And the view from the balcony is amazing/ stunning. You can see the turtles and other fishes swim by! Couldn’t get enough of it! You can open the doors all the way thereby you create a huge balcony/ living room. No need of a car even though there is a private parking space for the apartment. Bus stops right in front of the house at the main road. It’s B$ 3,50 pp to Bridgetown. Supermarket 5 minute walk, the one across the street is closed down. St. Lawrence Gap in walking distance as well. Food court across the street behind the gas station. Great communication with Trudi before and during our stay. She also arranged pick up from the airport for us. Really only negative remark: Some nights you can hear the bar in the neighborhood VERY much. Has a mixture of really high end hotels but also alot of B & Bs, Restaurants at the beach are ready available just bring lots of money as it is more expensive then you may think. The beaches are nice but had a few stones and algae so you need to wear some sandals while on the beach. Walking distance to many Cheap Buses /expensive taxis, just head to the main road to Bridgetown and you will never wait more than 5 mins to get offers o to take you downtown or to the airport. I stayed here previously and they've added several new things, most notably the adult only side which is great. I think the overall decor, staff, location, and amenities are good. I didn't try the gym so can't comment on this. The staff are really exceptional and I'm really pleased with how they go above and beyond to deliver great customer service.
