Located right in the city center and overlooking Tournai Cathedral, this traditional hotel offers a convenient location in the heart of the city, bicycle rental possibilities and an à la carte... Plenty of choice for breakfast. The position of the hotel was ideal and they provided private parking for our motorbike. The Staff were excellent: welcoming and sincere.
Surrounded by lush, green fields, this family-run bed and breakfast is set in a 17th-century farmhouse. It has a large garden with a furnished terrace and barbecue. Lovely country setting. Very friendly welcome. Place impeccably clean. Great beds and shower. Wonderful breakfast. Well worth more than the price. Many choices. Risa, the owner, couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend it to anyone wishing to explore the Belgium countryside.
Featuring a garden and a terrace, Le Charm'en Gîte has accommodations in Tournai with free WiFi and garden views. The property is stunning, the hosts were lovely and as big cat lovers to find 'Lily' and a neighbours black cat came visiting made it seem even more like home! We would have no hesitation in returning.
Housed in a renovated farm in Havinnes, Holiday home L'Aubépine is located 5 mi from Tournai and offers two accommodations suitable for large groups. Free WiFi access is available in this holiday... Very nice to have hosts who live on site - makes the whole process of booking in and sorting any questions much easier. We found that being able to converse a little in French was helpful. Very quiet location and heaps of room within the unit.
Beautiful old houses and cathedral. Interesting older types of buildings like the Pont a Trous. It is lovely to walk along the river in the center of town. However there are a lot of areas in construction with renovation of historical buildings, extensive restauration of the cathedral is ongoing, infrastructure work in the streets, demolition of dilapidated old buildings and construction of new apartments. The city is alive and not frozen in a past that is being disneyified.
Unfortunately Tournai was a bit of a disappointment. We went to see the church but it was all covered in scaffolding for repairs, but apparently it has been that way for years. The town seems a bit economically depressed as many shops and restaurants in the city center were closed or vacant. We did find an amazing coffee shop called Humble Coffee that we really enjoyed.
Nice visit to this town. Friendly chap gave us a personal tour of the cathedral. Puppet museum very interesting. Wife was disappointed that the Fabric Museum was closed! Found service very slow in evening restaurants. Good lively pub in the main square with good music scene, & very friendly customers. Due to roadworks outside town, no signs to Ostende, our next destination. Had to go all the way back to the coast and do a very long dogleg West then North to get to Ostende. Spoilt our visit to Belgium this time. (We go there a lot)
Beautiful city/town. Great restaurants and bars although those in the main square are double the price of those on the side streets and no bettter quality. Would really recommend this lovely Belgium town.
Not very clean, traveled there to see the Cathedral, but majority of it is under major renovation and you cannot see it. Will not be back, not having been to Belgium before, made my opinion of Belgium as a country much less. Will try maybe one other trip to Belgium before writing it completely off.
Tournai looks like it wants to be a tourist spot but isn't yet. Wait until the works are complete on the cathedral before you visit. There are good bars and restaurants to be found and a really good beer shop. it is easy to get around on foot and the tourist office are very helpful. Nothing is open on Sunday morning.

We don´t usually take hostels, since we love to have our own privacy, but this was quite nice for a hostel! We didn´t have a toilet, but there were many toilets (one just next to our room) and we had shower in our room, witch was nice. Staff was friendly, there was bar with great beers and some snacks open until midnight (I think) and a terrace. Also rooms with tv, games tc to use for everyone. Linen included the price. Short walk to the centre.

My wife and I stay at this Farmhouse B&B every time we are in Tournai, 3 to 4 times a year. The young family who own the establishment are more than gracious. There is no restaurant on site but they offer a fabulous breakfast, and it is a short drive to Tournai. Highly recommend!

Michel and Isabelle were very welcoming, the house has been done up beautifully and the room was wonderful. It's on the top floor with a bathroom next door. Breakfast was excellent. Tournai is well worth a visit and this is the perfect place to stay.

Hotel was situated very conveniently for the main part of town. Although, when I had breakfast, most of the hot food had gone, there was plenty of other nice foods to choose from. The home-made scones were wonderful.
