Ahtopol is a place of great childhood memories for me.
Ahtopol is a place of great childhood memories for me. But the place has been neglected and by the local authorities and overlooked by tourists. It has a great fishing port with nice water and sea rocks to wander around but not much else. The water is still dangerous to drink and stomach problems are unavoidable for me. Ahtopol is a preferred destination for me because the weather has almost always been sunny and the small town is not overly built up like most Bulgarian Black Sea resorts. The natural beauty of the location has not been taken away and I hope they keep it that way. It is very easy to get around Ahtopol, the people living in the town are very friendly. The houses have well-kept gardens with beautiful flowers. The town is full of fig trees. The restaurant on the pier with the white tables is a very nice place and the food is delicious. Ahtopol has plenty of sites to walk around, the promenade was super. Very close to Veleka beach and Silistar beach. The building is right near a walking trail on the edge of the cliffs.
