The Uplifting Power of Nature
Jasper sits in a green valley within a national park surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rockies. Water in its various forms has shaped the dramatic scenery and continues to create serene landscapes.
Tree-lined Lake Beauvert is the closest to town, but Pyramid and Patricia lakes are more famous thanks to the rugged peaks perfectly reflected in their still waters. Arguably the best of all is Maligne Lake whose incredible water colour is eclipsed by small, pine-lined Spirit Island. You may not know the name, but you’ll probably recognise the view.
Many glaciers come off the huge Columbia Icefield, roughly midway between Jasper and Lake Louise. Some have cut canyons where you can go ice walking. Other winter sports include ice skating and skiing at the Marmot Basin resort, named after local animals.
Bears inhabit the surrounding forests and more wildlife lives at The Den at Whistler Inn, just one Jasper accommodation option on Booking.com alongside mountain lodges and pet-friendly hotels with pools.
The Jasper Tramway – Canada’s highest cable car – goes to the top of The Whistlers mountain, and on the slopes of another are the Miette Hot Springs open-air pool. The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum details the area’s history, and traditional Haida styles and colours are celebrated in the modern Two Brothers Totem Pole

Jasper is beautiful if you like nature and wildlife.
Jasper is beautiful if you like nature and wildlife. The town is very nice, but we didn't stay long enough to enjoy it. I'd recommend staying for at least 3 days so you can enjoy nature tours and the town in a leisurely way.AAristi1976United States of America - Scored 1010

We stayed 3 nights.There is so much to see and do that a week would be better ,but then if you want to do more and see well that comes at a price.Many things are free ,like hiking ,(car rides around ,but still have to pay for gas)just walking around town is nice. If you want to go anywhere you better get up early and get there before the crowds do.Most places have limited parking and they fill up fast ,I mean by 8-9am.If you and your group cant get up early you can still can do the late ,late afternoon.Many touring companies offer a variety of tours .Plan in advance that's my tip.I spent 5 months planning and reserving for our 12 day in the Banff,Jasper,Golden area and more ,I'm glad I did!NormandUnited States of America - Scored 1010

With a small town atmosphere guided by the Park Services, downtown Jasper caters to the moderate visitor population. Plenty of dining options across various cultural venues as well as price range. Its a slightly older hotel however the room was clean and comfy and, good bed and quiet. We went to the onsite restuarant for dinner and had a lovely meal. A good selection of meals and certainly no complaints. Happy to recommend the restaurant as there were not a lot of options nearby in Jasper for the evening. We also used the coin operated laundry for washing as we travel lite, No issues with washing facilities.
