We absolutely loved our stay. The owners were so helpful and lovely. We ate at the restaurant and added breakfast- I recommend both. Beds are comfy, and the location is incredible. We also popped into the sauna post lake swim, which was fantastic.

I booked the room for one day in July about one year before my TMB because I knew it would be hot season in summer in Champed-Lac. This is the only stop we planned to stay at a hotel instead of a campsite for a little change. However I missed the massage later from the hotel saying that they actually did not take bookings until Aug and would like to negotiate a cancellation. Since I never got back to the hotel, even though they seemed to be closed when I arrived, they still arranged the room for me and made sure all the facilities worked well. As we were caught up in a downpour at the campsite the day before and everything got soaked, a room at Champex-Lac is all we needed. When we arrived at first I thought the hotel was closed and something went wrong. So I checked if there were any rooms still available in Champex-Lac. Nothing! The whole town was fully booked. Until I saw the message left by the hotel on bookings and finally got into the room, I couldn’t express how appreciative I were at that moment! Besides there were free snacks and coffee at the minibar. The beddings were super soft. Most importantly the room had a small garden facing the lake. We had the laundry rack in the garden and enough space to dry our clothes and tent there. And we were able to sit in the garden and enjoy the breathtaking view of the lake. One more thing, the hotel is located right in front of the bus station. Literally just one minute walk. So it is very convenient for anyone taking the bus there, but it won’t be very noisy because everyone is quiet. In a word we had a very good rest at this home away from home and were able to continue our TMB full of energy when we left the town. Highly recommend this place. Again thank you for everything.

First ever visit to Champex-Lac and this is a top spot -- self-contained self-catering apartment on what is effectively the top floor of a beautiful period building literally across the road from the lake itself, free on-site parking, wifi, balcony with endless views south, south-west, and west looking over the lake at La Breya mountain and forests - a small kitchenette with fridge, stove and all usual amenities - comfy enough double bed (suspended, accessed by ladder - which was fun for us) - and extra sofa/seating area, separate high table/eating spot, and of course the balcony -- I would 100% stay here again (if not buy the place) :P

Fantastic central location - 5 minutes from the train station by foot. Great choice of local incredible restaurants, e.g. Baba Ghanouge. Quiet & spotless room. Bed comfortable and nice linen. Modern lift. Helpful staff. Breakfast available for additional cost. Modern reception /key collection - webcam and screen with secure key boxes, operated remotely. Luggage storage available. Would stay again.

Champex, also called "Canada of Switzerland" is very nicely...

Champex, also called "Canada of Switzerland" is very nicely located at a small lake surrounded by greens and high mountains. There are a few hotels and restaurants. It offers a few opportunities for hiking, cycling, skiing etc. but cannot be compared to nearby Verbier or other famous alpine resorts. This has the benefit of quietness and closeness to nature but for adventourous people it may become boring after a few days. Former hotels have been converted into holiday residences, which suggests that Champex used to be a bit more vibrant formerly. It should have great opportunities to devlop into a center of soft-tourism if some investment in infrastructure and amenities was done.

Breakfast was good. Typical Swiss breakfast with nice bread, nice cheese, nice ham and nice pastries and good coffee - but it was not included, they charged extra for it. You could have gone to the bakery down the street and paid a bit less. There was a nice view of the lake from the little balcony. We had a nice afternoon aperitif there with some wine and snacks from the grocery store across the street when we arrived after our hike. Lac Champex itself is lovely and quiet. The room comfortably accommodated the 3 of us.

Nice location in the village of Champex-Lac (not with lake-view, but the lake is very near by). Free parking, free WiFi. Nice breakfast buffet and nice restaurant for dinner as well. Fair prices. Cosy rooms, particularly the corner rooms (they seem to a little bigger).
