Steven is the owner of the place and he’s such a nice guy! He’s been super helpful, being attentive to whatever I could need. He was so nice that even pack my breakfast to go, cause I was living very early in the morning. The place is located at 12min walking to Tianmen mountain which is amazing to avoid crowds and get there first time in the morning.

Holy smokes, Sanctum Peaks wasn't just a hotel, it was our July savior! Landing in Zhangjiajie during peak heat felt like stepping into a sauna, but this place? Pure, glorious chill.
The "Icy Oasis Pool" (my nickname for it!) was MASSIVE – legit feels bigger than three community pools combined! Floating around at sunset, watching the sky bleed orange behind those crazy peaks... mind-blowing scenery therapy. For context: our kid did laps in his inflatable kayak while we sipped something cold – THAT kind of space! Total game-changer for the brutal temps.
Rooms nailed the vibe: beautiful "ancient charm" with dark wood beams and silk accents, but also stone-cold A/C that worked like a champ (crucial detail!). It felt refined, not stuffy. Slept like a log after those long days.
The REAL MVP though? Their "Adventure Concierge Team." Seriously. We rolled up with zero plans, just said "show us the best of Zhangjiajie without melting." Boom. Next morning, a tailored itinerary, a super-knowledgeable English-speaking guide (David!), and an AC-equipped SUV magically appeared. No fuss, no haggling, just seamless awesome. They booked tickets in advance (NO LINES!), timed hikes perfectly to avoid crowds & heat, and even knew the best shady spots for snacks. Effortless vacation unlocked. Worth every penny just for this stress-free magic.
Bottom Line: If you're hitting Zhangjiajie (especially in summer) and want a gorgeous, cool refuge plus a genius-level planning team to handle ALL the logistics, Sanctum Peaks is IT. It's boutique luxury meets expert adventure partner. Highly, HIGHLY recommended for families, couples, or anyone who hates planning.
P.S. The "Make-Your-Own-Iced-Tea Station" by the pool at 4pm? Genius touch!

We had such an amazing stay at Avatar Peaks Resort! The resort was BEAUTIFUL; amazing architecture, gorgeous gardens and pools, and unbelievable location in the Zhangjiajie mountains. The food was incredible and the rooms were comfortable! The employees were so kind and helpful! This was our first time in China and it was difficult for us to navigate and plan our trip with the language barriers and new apps. This girl named Winne woman working at Avatar Peaks Resort stayed up late with us to help us get to the hotel, plan our entire trip to Zhangjiajie National Park, and she even helped us plan our trip in China after our departure. She also made sure food was made to accommodate our diet and helped us get to and from the park every day. Such an amazing place: couldn't recommend more!

Stunning!
Stunning! our 2nd favorite natural attraction in China, 2nd only to Huangshan Mountain. lots of great trails with exceptional views of a singular landscape. we stayed inside the park at YOLO hotel, which made access very easy. fortunately, transportation inside the park is shuttle bus only, they run frequently, and there's no congestion from private autos like you get at Yosemite. there's a big focus on "Avatar", but that is only one pillar of hundreds. Zhangjiajie is like Arizona's Grand Canyon except in a temperate rain forest, and on a more intimate scale, plus there are no incessant helicopters or mule feces.

Amazing place.
Amazing place. My focus was in the nature and zhangjiajie definitely delivered. Everything went super smoothly, but couple didi drivers tried to scam more money by adding extra fees in the app. Luckily didi customer service was good and got it fixed. Besides that small thing everything else was 10/10 for me, i strongly recommend visiting.

We arrived Monday evening, explored all day Tuesday, then left Wednesday morning. I would have loved more time but felt like we saw a lot in the time we had. Tuesday morning we went to Zhangjiajie National Forest through the east gate. We went straight to the Bailong elevator, hiked around, then took the bus to Yangjiajie and hiked around a little more. We then took multiple bus rides and took the cable car back to the east gate. A driver picked us up and took us to Zhangjiajie city where we bought tickets for Tianmen Shan, B route (one thing to note is that route B and C have you climb the 999 stairs up, route A has you go down the 999 stairs). It was all so beautiful! Wednesday morning we went to the south gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest and did a quick but gorgeous and peaceful hike, hoping to see monkeys, which we did. I loved our trip but would have loved two or three days to explore the area more extensively.

The national park is extremely beautiful.
The national park is extremely beautiful. However, prepare for a large crowd. I came in early spring so it wasn't a high season yet, but I was already quite uncomfortable with the amount of people inside it. Whilst the scenery was fantastic, sometimes the amount of people distract you from nature. The most problematic are the large tour groups, but they always have a route to follow, and there are enough small nooks and crannies for smaller groups to find refuge. So don't bother to queue for photos in a crowded location - find somewhere quiet instead.

Amazing place! It's really THE accomodation to choose if you want to discover Zhangjiajie national park and avoid the crowds.
You can watch the sunset at a great spot close to the hotel, get up early and walk to one of the sunrise spots (pretty much guaranteed that you'll be there by yourself), and get the best advice how to plan your route to avoid the crowds.
Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic time at YOLO resort. I absolutely recommend staying there!

The hotel is located in walking distance to the cable car station to visit Tianment mountain. Jerry was friendly and welcoming, waited for us to check us in as we had a late night train. He also offered storing our luggage as we did an overnight stay in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Our rooms were clean, comfortable with western toilets, everything was great. There are grocery stores and street food stalls nearby, especially recommended the sweet lady serving noodles next door.

Excellent hotel in Zhangjiajie and helpful hotel manager Peipei!!
The hotel is near the cable way for Tienman Mauntains, you can go there on foot. We also received help in booking tickets from the hotel manager. It is in the city center, near all sort of shops, street food and excellent restaurants.
The room was absolutely clean and very very cosy!
Really recommended for international stays: the hotel manager speaks wonderfully English!!!

Lovely hotel, the free breakfast was a great help. The owner was a lovely lady who helped us book airport transfer and even helped us book tickets to the glass bridge. She gets a discount too. The location was brilliant. We could walk to the East entrance to Zhangjiajie national forest. We had an amazing stay here and we're sad to say goodbye Wuling town is a treasure.
