The beaches over this side of the island are very disappointing. We stay over near ayia napa mostly and those beaches are so beautiful in comparison. If you like nice beaches with crystal clear water I’d go over to the east of the island rather than paphos. The area we stayed in was about 4km north up the coast from the city centre but there is a very nice coastal path that you can follow to get to the main area near the castle which is great. More complicated orientation on public transport. The beaches in Paphos are not ideal, but there is a beautiful beach outside Paphos (Coral Bay), which can be reached by bus from Paphos. There are small shops in walking distance. The house is very well equipped, you can find everthing you need! There is a big outside terrace, so children could go out and play. Very friendly and helpful owner. If you have a rental car, location is ideal to explore this beatiful area of Cyprus.
