Located in the center of the spa town Jachymov, 328 feet from the Jachymov Lazne bus stop, the Penzion Haus Regrus offers rooms with attached bathroom with a satellite TV and free WiFi. Despite the fact the staff didn’t speak English (they did speak German and Russian beside Czech) they were very friendly and tried to help all the time. The facilities are not the best nor this hotel has the latest furniture but for the price it was very good. It is very close to the ski field (3km). Has a great coffee nearby beside other attractions. Food on the restaurant was simple and good. If in winter ask for the garlic soup.

Complex Curie is located in Jachymov's center and it was created by linking hotels Prague, Curie and Elektra. All 3 buildings are connected with a barrier-free hall. Pricy, but in this area and time everything around was pricy too. The breakfast was not the best, what I had in my life, but ok-ish :)

The town looks a bit deserted, due to Covid and low season. Neither less, you can find small open (mostly asian) grocery stores even at holidays. The Agricola spa/pool definitely worth a visit. At the evening we were often alone there and it was like a private pool! To learn the controversy history of the place, take the bus to Jachymov, radnice and look at the mines. You can also reach Karlovy Vary in ca. 40 min by bus, the fare usually can be paid by card. At the Christmas we did not try the local eateries, but it is hard to find a bad food in Czechia. They do not like to hurry up though, so plan enough time!
Although the a fine skiarea in the neighborhood the village has nearly no facilities such as restaurants and shops. Lots of wellness hotels but you need to be a guest to use their facilities. A nice bathing establishment with sauna and spa can be found in the center, but it is often overbooked in high seasonsas everything else in the village.
Jachymov is part of one of the newest UNESCO sites in the CR. It became a famous silver mining town in the 1500s. Eventually, they got into uranium mining. Then the Soviets established labor camps there for political prisoners who had to mine uranium. It is a spa town located in a valley in the Krusne Hory (Ore Mountains). The old town is in the upper end of the valley. The spa area is in the lower end of the valley. (The part in the middle is less interesting.) In their museum, you can learn something about their history, their mint, mining, minerals, Madam Curie, the Soviet labor camps, etc. Not all the buildings in Jachymov look good right now, but they are working on it. The town is underpopulated, but it is not a tourist trap. Klinovec, a mountain popular with mountain bikers, is right outside the town. I jokingly referred to this as my radioactive vacation. If you go there, you will see why.
Good for skiing both in Jáchymov and other towns around the area. Old town with some communist era buildings with both cases having slipped in to a delapitated state with lots of empty buildings and ruined facades. Very poor restaurants and coffe shops both in numbers and quality.
This is a sad little town just trying to hold on. The best thing about it is that it's near Oberweisenthal, Germany where there's great skiing (for families) -- about a 15 min drive back up the valley. Jáchymov has radium springs and therefore has a bit of a stench to the air (seemed to linger most in the evening. Fog sits in the valley too. It was once a thriving town (1500s) and just hasn't maintained the vibrancy. There are SO few restaurants. When we were there, every one was booked out. So we drove to the next town and ate dinner at the Chinese restaurant IN the Tesco. Terrible but so funny at the time because we were so hungry. Our next option was snacks from the gas station. (by the way not ideal when traveling with kids)

The location was very good, next to a very modern spa with a variety of pools and saunas. Hotel guests can enjoy 20% discout there. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. The bathroom was quite modern. Food was ok, with some vegeterian option.

Super and friendly hosts, beautiful location and full of character and charm. My 6 year old boy loved the toy collection and the view. He describes the hotel as a “castle” and can’t wait to visit again when we go mountain biking or skiing.

Great for 11 guys. Every room had a private bathroom plus additional bathroom downstairs. Large living room, large dining table and kitchen, large balcony, nice view over the valley and we were being surrounded by nature and history. Facilities were beyond expectation and we got a warm welcome and were guided by the host. Also, Restaurant Anton was within walking distance, proving us with good food. Last but not least, the price we payed was very reasonable and was well worth it.
