This family-run hotel is a beautiful half-timbered building directly on the historic market square in Bacharach. The Altkölnischer Hof is an ideal base for exploring the UNESCO Middle Rhine Valley. Staff were friendly and the rooms were well appointed and clean
Set against the scenic vineyards of the Rhine Valley, this hotel is centrally located in historic Bacharach. Loved the location and the building.
Just 164 feet from the River Rhine and 5 minutes walk from Bacharach Train Station, this nonsmoking hotel offers free WiFi and free use of its indoor pool and sauna with sun terrace. Room and Staff was superb! Easy and close parking that is free. Center of town and easy access to the train. Large room and very clean. Great breakfast. Very accommodating to pets and within steps to the Rhine park. I will stay here again!
This family-run hotel in picturesque Bacharach is located directly next to the market place and a 2-minute walk from the Rhine River embankment. Free WiFi and a terrace are offered. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The views were amazing overlooking the town and the rooftops. The breakfast buffet was great too!
Just a 5-minute walk from Bacharach Train Station and sightseeing boats, this charming hotel features a traditional, wooden-framed exterior. Large breakfast buffets and newspapers are provided. We loved the location, clean rooms, friendly staff
Hotel Kranenturm offers accommodations in Bacharach. The hotel has a terrace and views of the mountain, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. It's a 600 year old tower with an amazing view of the Rein, and the Castle behind it! The owners are super sweet and helpful! I loved it, it was so charming!

Bacharach has a great old world feel especially the ruins and a walk about surrounding the town itself. It feels very low key and not overrun by tourists as is sometimes the impression with other similarly located towns along the Rhine. It was easy to connect to tour boats, the train (to as far as the airport and beyond) and by car to smaller outlying locations. Excellent regional wine tasting opportunities and views of the vineyards. However, with inclimate weather the town closes up.
The town has seen a little decline over the last 20 years in the number of shops and bakeries (now just one bakery and just one grocery). Still very beautiful with many welcoming cafes and hikes. I would recommend the town for stays of less than a week, given its very small size and limited amenities. Highly recommend hikes up to the Wernerkapelle and the castle/youth hostel.
We loved charming Bacharach but all the shops were closed the two days we were there which was a Friday and Saturday at the beginning of May. Cafes were empty because of cold weather. Appreciated the cheap parking.
Bacharach’s perfectly restored split-timber houses are works of art with their slate roofs and precision painted walls. Although the town has only about 500 people, it has plenty to do and see. The hikes through the really, really steep vineyards provided awe inspiring views of the Rhine and the village below. Bacharach’s castle turned hostel, is equally restored to its medieval glory just a short hike above the village. A boat ride down the river to St Goar is well worth your time. Gazing up at the castles and vineyards above the charming villages is delightful. We had a superb dinner in the nearby town Overwesel. The restaurant is in a split-timber house and we got to eat in the original kitchen, so fun and the food was divine!
Bacharach is a lovely little town right on the Rhine River. It's about a 1 hour easy car ride from Frankfurt airport. There is a great deal of history here and beautiful examples of German architecture. The wine is amazing (be sure to do a wine tasting). Food was very good. My only regret was that we stayed only one night, should have been at least two. We wanted to take one of the scenic river cruises that leave from there but didn't have the time. Butit's a great town to just walk around and explore. The castle is fun. The hike up to the castle is a little strenuous especially if your from someplace that's flat (like Florida). But still not bad. The view of the Rhine is spectacular, especially enjoying a glass of wine while doing so.
Another charming city along the Rhine River in Germany! We found it to be very clean and very well preserved. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the river and watching the barges and cruise ships go by. We also enjoyed walking/hiking up to the youth hostel for a superb view of the area.

Amazing hosts! Knowledgeable about the region, provides great advice on activities, great breakfast and conversation. Also picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, despite only being less than a mile from the station. Bikes available for daily rental too so you can get to towns beyond Bacharach. To really experience the charm of Bacharach and relax, stay with Ingrid and her husband! Don't let the distance from the station deter you because you get to see all of the sights and more as you walk home each night.

Right in the center of this quaint Provençal town of Bacharach. We booked the bridal suite which was perfectly and sweetly decorated. Had a great balcony with seating and looked over the town and all that walked and drove through. We ate dinner on the first eve outside and it was delicious! Breakfast was included and served in their beautiful dining room. They provided a wonderful typical German spread .

The hotel is in a charming half-timber house, at the edge of the town, but still not too far from the town center, at a quiet location. Our room was nicely decorated and had a terrace. Breakfast was tasty, and the room rate was reasonable.

Lovely hotel, freshly decorated, with comfy beds. Tasty breakfast, the usual rolls, cold meats and cheeses etc, (and Nutella!) Beautiful setting, nice walks round about, down road to Bacharach, and through the vineyards. Friendly staff.

We did not have a WiFi. Rheingold side of the hotel has a beautiful view but is noisy - railroad. Choose a backyard side for a quiet sleeping

If you can't appreciate a hotel like the Café Burg Stahleck, stay home. You're a loser and shouldn't be outside.
