It's just enough of a walk from the city center to make you want to take a drive over the river, but the stay was incredible! Breakfast felt more like a real buffet restaurant than a hotel breakfast, the room was clean and well stocked with toiletries if you forgot something, modern styling, and even being next to the elevators, the room was very quiet. The Shell station next door has snacks if you need something they don't sell in the hotel. I wish I had more time in the city, but I didn't have time to check the fitness and sauna, they sounded exceptional, as well.
Offering great views of the Cologne Cathedral and gourmet cuisine, this stylish business hotel is located in central Cologne directly beside the River Rhine.

Excellent staff. One of the best buffet breakfasts I've ever had: fantastic delicious spread of everything you can think of, done well. Only thing that could have improved in that regard would have been if they had an espresso machine with barista instead of just an automatic machine.
This unique hotel is located in a building with six floors which was once Europe’s tallest building. The Premier Inn Köln City Mediapark offers spacious rooms.

Founded by the Romans in 38 BC and idyllically located on the Rhine River, Cologne offers the perfect blend of historical and modern Germany. There’s no place more picturesque to drink a Kolsch beer and eat a schnitzel than on the banks of the River Rhine. Here you’ll find the Altstad, or Old Town, with the impressive Cologne Dom on the skyline.
Visitors to Cologne in November can dance the days away at the Carnival Parade. In December, no trip to Cologne’s magical Christmas markets is complete without a steaming mug of Gluhwein.
The charm extends to other seasons as well, thanks to the medieval wonders of the Cologne Cathedral and the Twelve Romanesque churches. Learn about the city’s history at the Roman-Germanic Museum or take a postmodern approach at Museum Ludwig. Whether historic or culinary, a trip to the Chocolate Museum can complete any tour.

Many large ancient churches (up to 1000 years old) with stained glass, paintings, sculptures, etc. (free of charge since considered places of worship). Bits of Roman ruins sticking out everywhere. -- Many streets lined with restaurants, pubs, coffee houses and coffee bars. Great coffee (ask for "Caffè Crema", which is actually black). -- Cool atmosphere, plenty of artists, actors, students, etc. The locals are friendly and funny and relaxed (many of them hailing from elsewhere).

What a stunning city (granted, lots of revellers, but there are many pockets / suburbs within a hearty walk to satisfy everyone). If you’re going off-season, check the galleries, sights, museums etc for opening hours; seems many close or limit their hours come October.

Cologne is a beautiful German city.
Cologne is a beautiful German city. It has not only one old town, but two. One is less crowded and has less tourists and is located in the south. The bigger city center is really crowded, especially around the Cologne Dome. The city is quite clean and its people are very friendly. What we enjoyed most was the Phantasialand, which is a theme park approximately 30 minutes away by car in a small town called Brühl.
Cologne itself also has a huge green park along the river and you can use a cable car over the river.

The location of the Cathedral next to the train station was perfect and an absolute free must see. Lots of cafes and bars in the centre and plenty of museums too. A walk along the Rhine was fabulous and English is widely spoken making for a stress free visit. It was very easy to walk to the main sites and getting from the airport was straightforward and I always felt safe.

Large room and a nice comfortable bed.
Breakfast was more than ample with cooked sausages and bacon etc and a good selection of cereals, breads and cheeses.
Location was brilliant as it was two minutes from Hansaring Station that is then just one stop from Cologne Central Station. Their are plenty of restaurants and bars very close to this hotel and a bit cheaper than going right into the city centre.
We would definitely stay again.
It was our third time in Cologne, and that hotel was the best choice! Great location, very clean, and hospitable. The guy from staff (sorry, I forgot his name) has an excellent sense of humor. When we arrived our apartment was occupied, so he gave us their best, larger apartment. Highly recommended.
nice modern hotel next to MediaPark, everything clean, friendly staff, my room was already ready in the morning although I didn’t request early check in, very great breakfast with many choices, definitely the best hotel I have stayed in Cologne
