We only came for a football match.
We only came for a football match. What an incredible and welcoming city/Town. Our team was Portsmouth and almost 1 thousand fans turned up to enjoy Darmstadt before and after the match. The bars and restaurants are amazing, the beer is very good and we had such a blast. We need to come back and explore more.

The city has more to offer than fabulous Mathildenhöhe.
The city has more to offer than fabulous Mathildenhöhe. There is the very beautiful castle and the marvellous Landesmuseum. The Jugendstilbad (swimming pool in a historical building) was great. People are kind and helpful everywhere.

Well organized, clean and safe small city with good public transportation, good shopping facilities, restaurants, cafes and two great breweries. We truly enjoyed our short stay. I highly recommend Darmstadter Ratskeller Hausbrauerei, and Braustub'l.

A great city to visit.
A great city to visit. The city centre is again charming, vibrant, full of character and possessing a sense of its own identity and uniqueness. The city has a beguiling mixture of the old (churches and historic buildings) and the new (shopping malls containing every and any type of retail outlet) -- all of it within walking distance of the LUCIENPLATZ, the vast central square that is the heart of the downtown area of the city. On my third day there, I went far outside the city environs to the place / suburb known as KRANICHSTEIN, and found myself confronted with a replica of a place in Dublin (Ballymun) that I knew well. Kranichstein is a high rise flat / apartment complex well serviced by a frequent bus / tram service that one can avail of (I went there on foot -- which prolongs the journey but increases the variety of the experience as you pass from urban environment to country and back to high-rise again. It might sound odd to recommend -- but Kranichstein is really worth seeing!

I liked the city, it's not the most interesting place on...
I liked the city, it's not the most interesting place on Earth, but it does have its moments - a Flohmarkt, Matildenhohe, parks in the centre of the city and a Bierkeller in the Rathaus - lively place with good and cheap food.

A wonderful city, with a beautiful appearance that is worth visiting. Having a bicycle, you can reach beautiful places. Modern but at the same time with a very well preserved old architecture. Fairly clean and with an ethnically diverse population.

Everything was perfect from start to finish...the friendly welcome, the quality and cleanliness of the room, great buffet breakfast, tasty meals in the bar and the excellent service from staff throughout the hotel.

Customer service. THE had no air conditioning, but on questioning this, we were told that we were able to rebook our stay, over to the Felix Hotel nextdoor. Problem was resolved quickly and efficiently.
