Amazing 4 days using Meersburg as a base to explore the beautiful villages around lake Konstanz. Meersburg is an incredible medieval town with the oldest inhabited castle in Germany with an intact dungeon. The entire region is surrounded by the lake and vineyards. Lots of lovely swimming spots, plus great cycling and hiking paths. We enjoyed some fabulous meals in Meersburg and tasted some lovely white wines. This area is a hidden gem, lots to see and do. I visited several other locations around the Bodensee during my stay and my conclusion was that Meersburg is probably the most charming. It is mediaeval and beautiful in the old town. The buildings have been repurposed and modernised but retain all their exterior charm. It is extremely convenient for main road routes. However, it is perched quite high above the lake itself. You can walk down to the lakeside promenade, but be prepared for 176 steps in each direction - I counted. It is a great place to relax, eat and drink, but short on anything else much to do. The couple of shops that sell drinks and souvenirs are massively overpriced - especially Oma’s Kaufhaus - Euro 3.50 for a small bottle of mineral water! After 21.00 Meersburg centre is almost deserted.Guest review byKeithAustria

The woman who does the business didnt even charge me for my dog which i found really nice, check in is done quickly and earlier than it was supposed to be, everyone was very nice to me:) water boiler and the fridge are nice additions to have as well at first struggled to find the reception, but you should just go to the nice lady at the shop next to the hotel entrance and she will check you in and give you the key:)Guest review byPolinaGermany

Very beautiful with lovely friendly staff. It is right in the heart of Meersburg, it almost felt like we were on a film set just stunning. Rooms were very comfortable and our dog was allowed to accompany us everywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was just amazing and the food in the restaurant to die for.
