Trent has a pretty church and a good corner pub with the best ice cream on Rügen. Otherwise, it's a transit point on the way to the Schaprode ferry to Hiddensee. Public transport connections are limited, as are the cycle paths.

The hotel itself is very nice.

The hotel itself is very nice. Unfortunately, if you don't have a car, you have absolutely no option for doing anything. There's nothing for over 10 km. The bus only runs once a day during the holidays, and taxis are expensive.

We loved everything about the hotel.

We loved everything about the hotel. The furnishings were absolutely modern. The terrace area was brand new and beautifully maintained, with wonderful lighting in the evenings. The staff were very polite and always available. The spa team was very friendly. Children were welcome, and parents felt comfortable knowing that not every little thing their children did would be frowned upon.

The resort is located on the Bodden lagoon.

The resort is located on the Bodden lagoon. So, if you prefer a beach on the Baltic Sea and not just knee- or waist-deep water, this isn't the place for you, or you should look in places like Binz instead. But if you appreciate peace and quiet combined with good food, then Trent is the perfect spot.

The hotel was located outside of Trent with its own beach...

The hotel was located outside of Trent with its own beach and beach chairs, as well as direct access to the lagoon. Therefore, we didn't really get to know the town of Trent itself, but instead took excursions to the local sights.

The whole place was amazing. The location (right on the sea shore, with its own little private beach), the hotel itself, the room (huge senior suite with terrace), everything was close to perfection. All the staff were great. The receptionist kindly offered us a drink while we went through the check-in paperwork together -- nice touch :-) We ate at the hotel's restaurant every evening and the food was great. The breakfast buffet was probably the best I have ever seen, in terms of choice, quality and presentation.

Wonderful, friendly staff who made our stay very comfortable. The breakfast was rich and varied. There were even gluten free rolls. The peace and quiet surrounding the hotel are priceless. The Bodenklause, the hotel pub, is a cozy place with a friendly owner, who can make your stay even better.

Very spacious room with a sperated bedroom. Perfect for a family. Daily room cleaning provided. If you read one comment from Google that cleaning service provided every 4th day...this is not true. The hotel doesn't offer a beach for swimming (see 3rd photo).
